Citrusy and woody - it works after all
Recently, I ordered some samples from 1000&1. Primarily because I wanted to test Dezember, which I actually like very much. And of course, when you have 5,-- shipping costs, you throw in a few more samples to make it worth the whole fun. So, I surfed through the various fragrance descriptions and added a few more samples to the cart. I must admit, a day later I didn’t remember which ones I had ordered (hold on - I had the scents from Mr. Kormann ready). When the sample package arrived, nostalgically and beautifully packaged in a soap box (if you want, you can check out a photo on my page), I thought this whole thing is worth its money.
Yesterday, I took the “forgotten” samples out of the soap box and sprayed on Tempete de Zeste. It smells fresh, herbaceous, and of oranges. My better half walks in and sniffs. “Are you testing something? It smells nice and fresh.” It stays like that for a while, becoming even fruitier, I suspect the blackcurrants, then sandalwood joins in, and also something minty, I have no idea where that comes from, does it smell like basil? I often don’t find citrus notes with wood very appealing; I prefer sandalwood in combination with warm spices like cinnamon or vanilla. Angua's comment reinforced my belief that this scent wouldn’t bring me joy, tzz, always these prejudices, I find it quite harmonious, the sandalwood remains elegantly restrained for me. No major changes follow; after an hour the scent weakens, and two hours later it has completely vanished.
Sillage and longevity are in the weak to medium range, so I would wear Tempete de Zeste more in warm temperatures, where the scent development and longevity will surely be better. Regarding wearability, I can’t think of any restrictions; it’s a scent that can be worn by both women and men and presents itself rather modestly. By the way, my beloved quite likes it; he has already asked if I’m buying it and what price range we’re talking about. For me, Tempete de Zeste is not a candidate for purchase, but maybe as a gift for him, and occasionally I might take a spray or two?
