Cleopatra - half woman, half fire.
When I apply Oriental Spice, I think of deserts, of oriental markets, and women walking through the alleys with their heads held high in white and gold garments. Everything painted warm, red & orange. In their hands, the sun, slowly but surely preparing for its descent.
Behind all these women spreads a long, wide veil of rich cinnamon that nearly puts those nearby into a coma. Cardamom also whistles its tune, making dry sand snap up into the air for the first time. That's how it should be. So and not otherwise!
Those who love cinnamon will find everything they desire here. The scent is simply overwhelming. Very powerful, golden, shimmering, enveloped in warm resinous tones that merge with cinnamon in thick, large black clouds, weighing down on everything and everyone that comes into contact with it. The opening makes some weary souls groan and take notice for the first time. It ignites, and there’s a real tingling under the nose and in the fingers. It has something - a whip that snaps out of the Orient must also be felt intensely on the skin, and it must burn. And Oriental Spice does just that - but. And now comes the big but. It feels very heavy at first, and for some, it may not be easy to understand. So don’t judge too quickly - because the first impression is completely misleading here. One might initially recoil from all the cinnamon and cardamom. But this subsides as quickly as a sudden sandstorm that sweeps briefly across the landscape.
The scent then becomes very warm, cozy, and calm. The cinnamon note noticeably softens and slowly envelops the body. Cardamom also pulls back its missiles and gently settles into the heart - golden, nestled in warm resin that lets a hint of honey shimmer through at its core. Powdery aspects also slowly emerge and settle on the wearer. Beautiful, delicate tones suddenly speak from Oriental Spice, allowing me to drift mentally through ancient Egypt. It only becomes slightly woody at the edges - fine, slightly burning sandalwood can be heard. Beautiful and delicate. A love whip that gently brushes the soul. Wonderful! Truly stunning. Exactly my style.
Cleopatra, surely one of the most famous ladies in history, must have smelled like this. That's how I imagine it in my fantasy. Lots of cinnamon, powder, and spice. Along with fine resinous tones heated by the sun. And it burns at first, before one is caressed by the wounds. A scent that initially has fire under the backside and really rages, but then quickly settles down and reveals its lovely aspects openly. Gently and carefully, it interacts with the wearer, allowing her to shine elegantly and truly femininely. Desirable. Half woman, half fire. This is what we are all made of. Cleopatra was certainly a person who had certain things firmly in hand and could be quite tempestuous. This scent would have suited her well on her strong chest. In my opinion, Oriental Spice is more fitting for women than for men. It simply carries this strong sweetness of the Orient that I can hardly imagine on men. Perhaps I will be convinced otherwise.
As for the sillage, I misjudged it - I would have wished for more strength and volume. The longevity, however, is perfectly fine and falls into an upper range. I can easily get along with it, even if it occasionally gives off a slightly medicinal hint - I always have thoughts of dentists when I write about something medicinal. And it was like that. But only briefly in a moment when I thought that the cinnamon was just being introduced into the filling.
Oriental Spice, a truly spicy oriental fragrance that sweeps through the desert with a lot of fire, then lets itself drift around like a feather. I am very convinced of it and recommend it to everyone who loves cinnamon in fragrances! The bottle is also fitting, in my opinion, and I personally like it very much.
