Similarity to Aramis
I don't know if it's justified to talk about fragrance twins. But "Bois Velours" is, in my opinion, not very far from "Aramis" (the classic men's EdT).
The latter is harsher, more intrusive; and it has a distinct fecal note, similar to the women's perfumes "Tosca" and "Nonchalance".
In contrast, "Bois Velours" is fluffier, softer, sweeter, somewhat powdery, and has the already described unobtrusive leather scent.
Alongside "Cèdre" and "Patchouli" by Esteban, both with completely different fragrance directions, "Bois Velours" is for me the relatively most pleasant creation of this manufacturer.
When faced with the choice between "Aramis" and "Bois Velours", I prefer the latter, despite the unfortunately higher price.
