How a little recession changes your life…
Well, to be honest - this title is a bit of clickbait, but at least it has changed my summer a bit, and I have gained a loyal companion. But more on that later…
In Europe, the brand Osma is still extremely unknown and very hard to come by. Too bad, because the fragrances are very distinctive, no dupes, of very good quality, and above all, top in terms of price-performance ratio! And, who would have thought, the Saudis can make perfume just as well and are not inferior to the endless brands from the U.A.E.
But how did I even come across this fragrance?
During my vacation in Dubai this year, I was of course on a perfume hunt, nothing could hold me back. Swiss Arabian, Lattafa, Rasasi - I wanted to test them all. Because when do you ever get the chance to smell or test so many at once?
After numerous scent sessions, I had at least as many shopping bags in hand. I was fed up, well, literally. But my friend noticed a small shop in the mall: Osma. Admittedly, the bottles were very uniform, and I found them very aesthetic; they reminded me a bit of Louis Vuitton. My interest was thus piqued a little. But I had no desire to test the hundredth LV dupe. No, my nose can’t take that anymore…
So I thought: I’ll check this out. Maybe someone has written a review about a fragrance so I wouldn’t have to try them all, but I didn’t have high hopes.
To my surprise, the brand Osma was indeed represented. Not with all the fragrances, but well, that should be enough.
So I started scrolling and noticed the review of LaWood. He raved about Positano. So I thought: Why not - let’s try that one too. Luckily!!!!!
Sprayed on: The fragrance starts with a very pronounced jasmine note. This diminishes over time but never leaves you! Added to this is sandalwood, which makes the scent softer and creamier, as well as a very subtle pepper note that rounds off this heavenly masterpiece.
Yes - truly a delight, this fragrance! Absolutely unisex, and I would probably like this on a woman as well. The longevity is good. After 2-3 hours, it becomes very close to the skin and lasts on the skin for about 5-6, maybe even 7 hours. I would describe the sillage - except for the first two hours - as moderate, although it is still present beyond that.
The fragrance comes from a special collection of the brand, which also includes Portofino and "Capri | Osma." These are also an absolute recommendation and worth a separate entry when the opportunity arises!
What I haven’t talked about yet is the bottle. I don’t know why, but I’ll claim: I haven’t seen a prettier one so far. This also applies to the two others mentioned above. Those little Italian villages on the bottles - wow!
In summary:
A must for everyone - on your next visit to the Orient!
Thanks to LaWood, thank you all for reading!
