Soft, sparkling lemon sugar cream that disappears too quickly

Vaniglia del Madagascar is a very simple, soft vanilla that evolves slowly and without drama from a sparkling, lemon-sugar opening to a warm vanilla-sugar end. It's as linear and as slow-moving as this description implies. The opening is perhaps my favorite part, as it dances deftly between lemon-scent sugar and a cool, blond, sauna woods accord that is attractive and calming. It feels airy, cool, and strangely enough for a vanilla scent, effervescent.

The warm place the vanilla ends up is not tooth-achingly sweet, nor does it pick up too many extraneous notes - it's just pure vanilla sugar. Many people talk about this scent as something that only reveals its true beauty after a full twelve hours. Well, I am not one for delayed gratification, but I waited it out patiently anyway. To be perfectly honest, the degrees of change between its starting position and its final destination are so infinitesimal as to make the tortuous wait utterly unnecessary. To its credit, the vanilla here is very natural in feel, and never candy floss sweet.

But to my mind, there is a major flaw that rules it out as a possibility for me, and that is performance, or more specifically, projection. Within a few minutes after spraying, the scent is barely perceptible on the skin.

One of a Kind

I have a weakness for vanilla, but unfortunately it is often too sweet and/or too artificial for me; I don’t want to smell like a cookie cake on two legs, or have it come in the wrong composition.

This one is different.

A year ago I had a little sample, but unfortunately I passed it on along with many others, with the difference that the memory of it wouldn’t leave me.

Today, finally, I hold a sample in my hands again and can hardly wait... is it really as beautiful as I remember?

It starts warm and sweet, almost a little fruity with a floral note.
I am puzzled; floral, fruity, was it like that back then too? But this is just the prelude before it blooms into full beauty.

A dark, vanillic, very calm, mature sweetness with a honey-warm complexion and profound melt now clearly goes hand in hand with the amber.

It flows golden over my skin, luxurious, without being too heavy or too balsamic.
Soothing, a calm that seems to come from endless depths, noble and warm.

Oh yes, I know why I couldn’t forget it; it is wonderful.
For me, the most beautiful vanilla scent with depth (I wouldn’t describe it as really heavy).

I love it because it touches me.

summery vanilla treat

As soon as it gets a bit cooler and I finally sort out all my wonderful perfume samples (or at least I try to), a vanilla scent comes under my nose again.
But to not overdo it, I choose a fruity, slightly summery vanilla creation: "Vaniglia del Madagascar" by Farmacia SS Annunziata di Firenze.

A large portion of fresh strawberries has already been marinated with the juice of lemon and mandarin.
Here, the summer fruit is generously captured in scent form.
(A small dose of nutmeg would be the icing on the cake here.)
Anyone who doesn’t like strawberry scent should stay away: these red fruits set the tone.
But only until the exotic-warm vanilla approaches. It envelops the ripe fruits opulently and possessively.
Whether as a scoop of ice cream or vanilla sauce - this fragrant mixture simply becomes delicious!
When such a delicacy is served in a bowl made of light, pleasantly aromatic wood, the heart of any sweet tooth rejoices: this way, the heavy sweetness gets a fitting base.
A vanilla summer magic is complete!

I encounter a summery vanilla scent here that accompanies me for several hours but lightly fades away before it becomes bothersome.
What remains is a summery impression that brings a bit of summer sun feeling even to Northern Europe.
"Vaniglia del Madagascar" is not a permanent guest; but a nice acquaintance for a chat and a cup of espresso, possibly in a small café under a yellow-and-white striped awning!

not bad at all..

.. I thought during the first sniff :)

a sweet, quite heavy and exotic vanilla with a slight citrus-floral undertone. The amber accord gives the fragrance a certain depth!

After the second sniff and the test sniff from my better half, we both realized that this fragrance could be the little brother or the scaled-down version of Angelo di Fiume by Linari. If you steal the caramelized fruits from the Linari and wait for the base, you essentially get the Vaniglia del Madagascar. The advantage with it - it is universally wearable. During the day, in the evening, and even in the summer - while the Angelo di Fiume is more of a fragrance for cold days and the evening for me.

Conclusion: A very nice, quite uncomplicated, mature vanilla fragrance. Especially because the vanilla comes across as very natural rather than artificial.

natural vanilla with a hint of amber and orchid

I love vanilla, but at some point, the cookie-vanilla phase is over, and you just don’t want to smell like a vanilla crescent or baking aroma anymore. In search of an adult vanilla scent and thanks to a great fragrance consultation in a beautiful store, I came across Vaniglia del Madagascar.

When sprayed, it initially smelled very intense of vanilla, and I was already fearing I had another gourmand bomb on my arm, but somehow it was also light, beautiful, and above all very natural. I was advised to wait a few minutes and during that time, I sniffed the matching scented candle from Farmacia, which surprisingly smelled smoky-vanilla.
Unfortunately, this smoky note didn’t come through for me at all, and there was no trace of the citrus notes, which I was less sad about. The orchid gives the fragrance a light, fresh quality after a while, and I find it to be a vanilla scent that can also be worn well in summer. Amber provides balance and prevents the fragrance from becoming overly sweet. The combination of creamy-milky sweetness, a subtle amber spiciness, and the light, floral orchid is wonderfully achieved here!
The vanilla is very natural and accompanies me all day long. The longevity is excellent, and I have already been asked about this scent many times.

For me, it could have been a bit spicier and deeper; then it would definitely have become the adult vanilla scent I was looking for, but even so, I am very pleased with this beautiful, natural vanilla fragrance and the decant from Snowflake!
