Stay Strong!
Admittedly: as a teenager, I regularly smoked secretly. Preferably together with my best friend somewhere in the great outdoors. Our smoking accessories included not only tobacco and a lighter but also a special kind of candy that could only be bought at pharmacies. A type of peppermint-coated salmiak pastilles. I liked them almost as much as the drag on a cigarette and loved this special scent mixture of sweet mint candy and tobacco, which I associated with the thrilling experience of conscious boundary crossing. When I sprayed "Tabacco d'Autore," the memory suddenly came back, and after years of abstinence, I suddenly felt the urge to go outside and have a smoke. There’s only one thing to do: stay strong!
After the grand opening for me, more fragrance notes quickly join in. Now and then, I smell something slightly fruity, which makes me think of pipe tobacco and maybe even pipe smoke. Additionally, there’s a kind of cold smoke; I was surprisingly fond of this note in "Collection Première - Cuir Blanc" by Evody. It’s probably the leather that I associate with this slithering cold smoke in both fragrances. It fits very well here, for sure. Both fragrance notes appear more or less prominently at different times. There’s also a slight sweetness, like one often finds in loose tobacco. However, it remains only a light sweetness, which I personally really like. After about four hours, the tobacco slowly bids farewell, becoming a bit resinous and finally reminding me of classic spice soap.
I really like "Tabacco d'Autore" throughout its entire development, but I would prefer to smell it on a man. And even then, it doesn’t suit everyone. In any case, the theme of "tobacco" has been well executed - almost too well for my taste... But I stayed strong and will send the sample on in a few days anyway - let it tempt others!
