Very artistic
A very unusual scent.
The opening unmistakably evokes olives, but as if they were in brine, because a distinctly marine facet immediately comes through. Right after that first burst, mentholated and balsamic herbs emerge, also carrying a coastal and consistently aquatic feel. I can identify thyme, while Siberian pine gives it that expectorant touch. Overall, there’s a metallic, cold streak which, together with the marine base, suggests something rusty. The structure is in the style of aromatic marine scents like Acqua di Sale, but I find it very innovative and original because of the olives, whose fruity note lingers through the various stages of the fragrance. Later on, I smell strongly mineral notes, like wet rock. It really feels like a Mediterranean blend, a condensed experience of diving in the sea, salty skin, and centuries-old olive groves. From the early reactions I’ve heard, I don’t think it’s a well-liked fragrance—actually quite the opposite, perhaps due to the marine–brine–olive mix that also seems to have an iodized quality. Personally, I think it’s a fine artistic exercise, especially considering the inspiration, but it’s more of a smell than a perfume, and at times extremely difficult to wear.
