Poison-possessed gingerbread man

Notre Dame Notte di Natale is what happens when the wicked, witchly spirit of venomous anisette, honeyed plums, and midnight-plucked flowers from Christian Dior's Poison winds its dark essence through into the flesh of a gingerbread man, wrapping itself in a crust of dark spices, black treacle, and unholy sugar. A fragrant possession of spiced damnation.

Nightmare before Christmas

The incense wizard created a real monster here. Something that’s called Christmas Eve and frankly starts really happy and joyful. With a good dose of sweet spices that remind of gingerbread, and a boatload of deeply cloying honey.
Sometimes some incense peeks through. The cloying honey subtracts more and more. Becomes more pissy. And the incense becomes more and more ashy, like cigarette ash. In the deep drydown it was like a chainsmoker’s fully pissed diaper.
No thanks mr Sorcinelli. I’m a big fan of some of your perfumes but I don’t know what Christmas nightmare has brought you to come up with this.

this is how you make a gourmand scent for people who don't like gourmands

the first thing i see when spraying this is an old church pew - the wood soaked in years-worth of incense smoke, the surface of it burnished with countless naphthalene-infused furs.
then, it slowly unfolds into delicious, gourmet grade cinnamon flavoured chocolate - dark, bitter and creamy, 80% cocoa - simply addictive.

i admire the bottle design of this collection a lot, it's truly one of a kind, however... you know, i would just prefer a regular cap as an alternative, to swap it from exposition mode to travel mode.

8/10 is definitely an exaggeration.

Yes, this fragrance projects strongly and the longevity is insane, and normally, those are qualities you want in a perfume. But when a scent is harsh, sharp, chaotic, and poorly blended, those strengths quickly become the last things you’d wish for.

To me, this isn’t wearable. Not even as a perfume to quietly appreciate at home. It does have that church-incense vibe, and you can detect a touch of dark honey along with orange blossoms but the notes never come together. Instead, they clash and create a muddled, rather amateur blend.

Overall rating: 3/10.

Gingerbread, choclate and lots of honey!

A truly distinctive gourmand amber. A golden-glowing, wise scent of the old world.

Yes, Christmas — the brightest moment of the winter solstice. The sanctification of darkness.

But I had right away rather specific association - wild strawberries! It’s so clear! Nordic souls know what I mean ;) Delicacy of a summer.

Yes, you can feel gingerbread and dark chocolate. But most of all, beeswax! With time, this scent becomes ever more waxy. Mmmmm… an irresistible honeyed spiciness. Which stays forever … after 20 hours still unique creamy beewax.

Christmassy richness doesn’t weigh you down. There’s a certain brightness (orange blossoms, perhaps?) — a ray of hope that the light will soon return.
