It starts with the bottle - has anyone ever held such a bottle in their hand? Already when unpacking absolutely carefully, I tried not to confuse the drapery of the silver, fine fabric, but this is exactly what happens when you open the very impressive lid hidden under the fabric - already when opening it, this arrangement symbolizes complete fleetingness of the work of art, which can never again be grasped as the artist meant it. The glass body of the bottle with its silver fittings is more than noble, the writing with the underlines creates the connection to the present:_Quando_rapita_in_estasi_- real understatement, which here makes a string of the Italian soul sound, for which, according to Filippo Sorcinelli, the Italian does not need to be ashamed of in 2020: deep, infinite, deadly passion. Quando rapita in estasi - enraptured in ecstasy. The scent could not be described more accurately. How can I explain it to you: It blows your mind. It is impossible to endure what comes your way for more than half a minute without falling over. You have to be pretty tough to stay calm. It's smoke. Smoke of such unbearable, immeasurable hardness and intensity that tears come to your eyes and your breath stops. You flee into the open air, take a deep breath - too late. This incredibly intense, hard, bitter, dry smoke from burning fir trees takes up the whole space around you; the sillage could be described without exaggeration as 25. This smoke is absolutely hard. Incredibly ugly and at the same time WONDERFUL. I've never smelled anything like it before. If this is about love and passion - and it should be, if the title is associated with the lines of the libretto - then it is not about a little being in love, red roses and a heart-shaped muffin on Valentine's Day. What is associated here is a tsunami, an avalanche, a hurricane, something unbearably powerful, a force of nature: "I love you. If I do not get You, then I will die ON THE PLACE, I will ram the sharpest knife I find into my body immediately. And when I get you, then it will be so immeasurably, unbearably intense that I too will die immediately on the spot. Burn with love." What a woman. What a man.
Well, it's really hard stuff, and you have to be prepared to test this scent. Preferably before a holiday, because this one never goes away. Not from the clothes, not from the room. I had ventilated, and from the yard they thought I had lit a fire in the room. The scent hovered over the courtyard for hours.
And - oh miracle, oh gentle beloved - after a while the scent changes: the smoke remains, but something quiet, delicate is added: a very flowery soap tone, freshly washed like a young girl who after the bath puts on her linen shirt and hurries barefoot over the stone slabs towards her beloved. Less like the great diva, more like the young spring. Lily of the valley, very dominant, and peach notes, sweetish and soft. Always, however, the dark, unfathomable, hard things thunder from somewhere, they don't disappear, as I said, they remain, they are only penetrated by the soapy, flowery tones. Two perfect opposites that collide; one is inclined to speak of "male" and "female", if it were not so exaggeratedly dramatic, so Italian-opera-like.
You have to test this scent. Take your time. Be alone in the room with you. Don't go to work after. Be considerate of all who might yet encounter you. Remember, this is not a gimmick. It's a statement. You have to decide beforehand whether you really want to say what you say with this perfume. Afterwards it's too late. Yeah, test the smell. Tell me when your vanilla, tonka bean is going to show up. And which of these fireworks could be the sweet opium. But don't be reckless: _Quando_rapita_in_estasi_ is not for the fainthearted and small-minded. It is, that much is certain, really a big, strong smell
