Perfume blind test: leathery earthy honey with a hint of smoke

*What do we smell?*
This time we were quite united in our perception: An amber-golden core in a leather coat. Resinous, spicy, moderately oriental. A typical representative of an exclusive series of a large designer house. Very good, but there are also statements like "he looks familiar" and "I don't find him very special". The many fragrance twins suggested here confirm this impression. By the way, I confused Bogue with Hiram Green in the honey references :-/

This is how a blind test works: We can simply follow our nose, free of expectations, and hold on to our personal taste and experience! At first, a few minutes of head to heart notes, after an interruption we go to the base and summarize our impressions and finally compare them with the resolution.

Some years ago I got to know Ambre Orient, a crazy time full of emotions full of so many new ones in my life.
In these years, however, many things have changed, feelings and love yes a completely different life resulted.

The emotions I feel when I perceive Ambre Orient is however the same fascinating and pleasant as damlas some years ago
Ambre Orient will probably always accompany me on the wings of thoughts, now as long as my last drops of this masterpiece can be smelled.

The men - campfire

At first you can perceive a strong and intense resinous note, which also has very delicate citric traits and is due to the incense.

At the same time, the incense is inserted in an oily, ethereal, slightly herbaceous shade, which ensures that the incense appears a little more intense and comes from the thyme.

Already in the top note, the actual theme of the fragrance is very well perceptible - and would even attribute a slight animal component to it, which it is not actually at all, but is perceived in such a way, or could be perceived.

We have here a slightly sweetish ham marinated with large peppercorns, smoked through on black ebony, but not on a grill, but quite improvised on a light wet earth, with other woods as a source of fire, holding over it and turning regularly, cooked and I can imagine very well that this fragrance property stems from the interaction of Oud, Patchouli and the pink pepper (but I have tipped on the black pepper)
And then you're lucky, a little piece of sandalwood was there and gives off a wonderful creamy spicy smell, which gives the ham a fine soft consistency and you automatically start drooling a little when you love the "rib smell" like Mariah Carey :-)

In the last 3.5 hours, a nice sweet and slightly spicy note can be perceived, which evokes a very pleasant cuddly aura and comes from the amber.

At the same time, the amber is accompanied by a fine, creamy, very delicate, sweet note, which ensures that the fragrance finishes with a wonderful smoothness and is thanks to the Bourbon vanilla.

In the very background, a very fine, balsamic nuance of the finish rounds off wonderfully.

Unfortunately I could not perceive cinnamon, but I can imagine very well that this component was used for background music.

In total the fragrance lasts 9 hours on my skin.

In the first 1.5 hours, the Sillage is designed in such a way that one is clearly perceived at the 1.5 meters and then swings 2.5 hours to a very clearly perceptible whole arm length, before it is reduced in quiet steps until the end of the fragrance.

An exceptional amber

Ambre Orient is another exponent of the Armani Prive collection that enjoys incredible quality and exceptional odor characteristics. It is an oriental perfume, which despite what it may seem for its notes, is subtle, light and delicate, with a masterful amber, which shows us an airy, vaporous and powdery work that borders on the sublime. I loved it.

In the beginning the thyme is felt in a tender and delicate way, with an incense, sweet, resinous and slightly shaved aura, which is beautiful, almost touching femininity, but stopping it in time a spicy and woody note that gives body and volume and avoids that develops excessively feminine. When this woody and spicy note comes into play, the thyme disappears and in its place feels a very light patchouli, surrounded by sweet, resinous and spicy woods, but nothing aggressive or strong, on the contrary, they are delicately crimped, it is like if they were vaporized in the air, I do not know how to explain it, but I feel it as if in a reverie, where you are not yet able to see clearly and the dreamy sensations and reality are interwoven, precious. Little by little, vanilla and amber begin to be felt more intensely, because being, they were from the beginning, but in a very ethereal and mild way, and also now, some cinnamon begins to feel very subtly, creating an ambiguous set, Creamy and also something dusty, beautifully executed, without stridency or exaggeration of notes, maintaining that dreamlike air that has enchanted me. A magnificent work of perfumery that has been discontinued, a shame because it is really beautiful, although I think that Myrrhe Imperiale could cover the void left by Ambre Orient, since they share that same mystical and dreamlike air, with different aroma (myrrh and not amber) , but with the same character.

Perfume of excellent performance, with a very good longevity, remaining on skin for about 10 hours, with a very marked wake from the beginning, then from 3 hours low to moderate and in the last hours it remains at skin level. Perfect for cold and temperate seasons, and it does not matter whether for the day or for the night, but for special and intimate occasions, it is not a daily perfume, it is rather, something special.

If you find it and you can afford it, go ahead, it is a beautiful perfume, but without paying excesses, that on the internet there is a lot of crap that, sometimes, they ask for real barbarities for him, that I would not pay, because to pay a lot of money I would go directly to Myrrhe imperiale that is not discontinued, has a similar vibe and can be found cheaper, though, not cheap.

Afternoon with alcohol

It is not too easy to write negative about such perfume that got 84% in average from perfumistas.

For my nose it is a liqueur-amber, brandy, cognac, or something like this, later on a stale summer afternoon, or rather a fragrance of a homeless.

AMBRE ORIENT is very srong and outstandingly persistent.
