The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle
Sometimes I don't know if I'm lying to myself when I buy a fragrance. Back when I had my "black phase," I tended to acquire bottles like Black Diamond by Armani and viewed the contents more favorably than if the container were boringly clear or rectangular. Now I noticed the purple Diamonds and tested it, almost pulling out my card, until a little devil on my shoulder said, "Hold on! Sleep on it." The little devil is right.
But it's still nice. My former violet favorite Tentations de Violette was gone, and I smelled a resemblance here, albeit less green and leaning towards gourmand. However, the violet only expresses itself very timidly; the rose clearly has the say. I would call the scent intention rose powder dragée if I had to use just one word.
Nevertheless, or precisely because of that, I like it. Not too floral, powdery sweet, and unexpectedly gourmand for a Diamonds flanker.
Whether I will buy it, I will only know after a good night's sleep. Probably, the appearance will win over my wallet again. But a little self-deception is okay, as long as no one else does it.
