A modern and light floral

Eaudemoiselle is a rather basic fragrance. It's more modern than old-fashioned or vintage in my humble opinion.

I was surprised to discover how fresh the scent is. I think I expected something richer and perhaps more floral. The scent strikes me as being a watery blend of rose, lemon, subtle herbs and musk.

In my country, Eaudemoiselle appears to be a limited release, only being sold in the major capital cities. I don't see how this fragrance is better than other Givenchy releases. In fact I much prefer Ange ou Demon, Very Irresistible and Amarige over Eaudemoiselle.

The release has come at a good time as Australia goes into the hot Summer months, which is the perfect weather to wear this fragrance. It's a rather polite and inoffensive scent, not being overly strong in terms of sillage, but having decent longevity.

I'm slightly underwhelmed to be honest, even though I didn't have much in the way of expectations leading up to smelling it. It's delicacy has left me cold rather than impressed.

There's an odd pear-like note that I keep smelling which is the only thing that intrigues me, to say the least. Because I can sense the pear and rose, I will compare this fragrance to Annick Goutal's Petite Cherie, even though the latter is much sharper and fruitier.

A fresh and different floral.

I really love this scent. It starts out herbal and citrus for me - very delicious and fresh. Soon comes the beautiful rose in the heart very strong, but creamy and buttery and smooth. As it tones itself down I get a sense of something rich and nutty almost. Is that the tonka bean? I think the citrus gives this scent a less girly feel at the start which I like, but that soon morphs into a gentle floral and becomes very sweet. I am not a huge fan of florals, but this one has a different edge to it. I would be totally feel like a queen in my frothy prom dress wearing this scent...

Only bad thing is the bottle design reminds me of a bottle of Coca-Cola - but that might not be a bad thing at the prom after all...

Musky rose

This is a lovely scent. It has for me a slightly classic vintage vibe.
The opening starts fresh with lots of rose and lemon, there is also a bit green note , I guess thats the basil. The ylang is there but not prominent, this note normaly makes me a bit nauseous, but not here. It blends nicely with the other notes. The drydown is a soft powdery musky rose.

I love to wear this in warmer wheater such as spring and summer are

provençal charm

François Demachy has managed to rise to the top of my favorite fragrance artists in recent months.
He gives his fragrance artworks a signature all of his own, which always refers to him; no matter which company he uses his nose for.
Thus, there is always a subtle aromatic reference to his roots in Provence, his hometown of Grasse, in his creations.
Above him are in my very personal scale of values only the fragrance creators of the Guerlain family, which also includes Patricia de Nïcolai as Jean-Paul's niece.
But this is open to the top and not set in stone.

The house Givenchy has never been known for loud fragrances; here rather the elegant understatement is cultivated.
So also the "Wässerchen" of this brand have a very own magic.
Already "Eau de Givenchy" has crept with its light-footed beauty in my heart.
On those days when actually "nothing" is already too much, it is a wonderfully unobtrusive companion.
But this pleasant peculiarity I had already appreciated by a corresponding comment (see "The sister called water").

And now "Eaudemoiselle": it sounds so wonderfully old-fashioned!
And immediately reminds me of the scene from Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's "Minna von Barnhelm", in which Major von Tellheim's former constable Werner meets the somewhat flirtatious maid Franziska for the first time: "Frauenzimmerchen, Frauenzimmerchen - I see she is pretty and is probably quite a stranger ..."
For me, there is nothing disrespectful about this "little woman"; after all, this form of address contains so much astonished tenderness and respect of the common man towards this young woman.

So, too, "Eaudemoiselle" is an eminently wearable gift to all women.
If it seems at first glance by the freshness of tangerines and Amalfi lemons almost simple and youthful, like a delicate just budding blossom of the feminine, but soon basil tart spice points to a very different, more feminine development of this fragrance creature.
Didn't Lampedusa in "The Leopard" already tell of an alley in Palermo where basil pots stand on the windowsills in the evening, indicating that the ladies behind these windows are not averse to a gallant interlude?
Basil can thus be quite more than just the herb that gives pasta the Mediterranean flavor.
In the heart note, "Eaudemoiselle" therefore also becomes a little more adult, loses the delicate melting of this youthful freshness: the aforementioned flower bud opens.
For the noble rose with its feminine magic makes this fragrance no longer seem quite so innocent. Especially after she surrendered to the fragrant embrace of ylang-ylang.
Both develop a very special fragrance relationship with each other.
The sweet warm sensuality of musk and tonka bean is thus the fitting conclusion for this fragrance women's room.

Nothing is heavy or intrusive here, everything is and light and carries the magic and the unmistakable light of Provence in itself.
Fruity freshness and tart spice meet fragrant floral beauty before sinking together in a warm embrace.

Thus, "Eaudemoiselle" is a graceful fragrance creature that charmingly and smilingly accompanies you through the day and provides freshness and joy through each spray anew.

bittersweet rose

The fragrance was tested on the basis of very different descriptions here and because of the basil note which I find exciting.
Not very enthusiastic about cardboard, black and white model photos in old frames decorate the packaging. All right, then. The bottle lies very nicely in the hand, the ribbed glass reminds of old glasses for cognac. From the head comes a good spray, so take care because the fragrance is quite intense.
It opens alcoholic and immediately fruity. Very ripe banana/pineapple/pear? A trace of lily. Little by little the basil comes out, the hands are rubbed against the leaf and the scent is there. Light spice and herbaceous but not as clear as I had expected and wished.
Hardly astonished about it comes the rose note. Try to dare me slowly to rose scents and here she is dominant for my nose but not unpleasant soapy or old-fashioned.
Ylang intercepts and balances the rose well, but brings even more sweetness. Now I also smell a pealed, bitter citrus note (the tangerine) which remains fruity and the fragrance not only can be floral but also strangely pushes itself into the foreground again and again. The spice of the basil unfortunately only imaginable. The one already mentioned here in comments
Vanilla also comes through unobtrusively, which I find pleasant, as I don't like it excessively, but it rounds it off softly and concludes with a soapy rose note.
I am not yet sure whether I am really a wearer of rose fragrances, because they seem slightly madamig with me. This one is elegant but also grown up and the bitterness or citrus note is exciting but not so well balanced with me or sometimes disturbs it. Intense and not for days when you want to be lightly wrapped. It also causes mild headaches when heated. For the summer evening on cool terraces I imagine it well and for a
very neat, elegant
A dress with everything right from head to toe.
An interesting discovery that will certainly be even more balanced. Don't give up the basil quest.
