Incredibly Fresh, Elegant, sophisticated citrusy spicy scent

I really love Désobéissant. It’s one of those fragrances that feels easy to wear, yet always makes me feel polished and confident. From the first spray, the cedrat comes through fresh and clean, but not sharp. It smells bright, smooth, and quietly luxurious.

As it settles, the cardamom and black tea really stand out for me. This part feels warm, calm, and slightly spicy—very comforting, but still interesting. It has a classy, thoughtful vibe that never feels too much.

The dry-down is where I’m completely sold. The pine and cedarwood are soft, woody, and elegant. On my skin, the longevity is better than average, and the sillage is just right—people notice it, but it never feels overpowering.

What I love most is how natural it feels. It doesn’t try to impress; it just works. Désobéissant has become one of those fragrances I truly enjoy wearing again and again. Clean, refined, and incredibly satisfying.

Overall, I highly recommend it 10/10

“Sérénité“

As I already mentioned in my recent sporadic statement, I find Desobeissant by Givenchy to be somewhat more elegant and noble than Imagination by Louis Vuitton. Both fragrances share their citrusy spiciness combined with a not too spicy, but very delicious black tea CO2. Apparently, a timeless recipe for success in the perfume market.

Differences:
While Imagination is implemented with a more youthful bergamot, ginger, cinnamon, and cedar, making it spicier and zestier, the lemon-lime in combination with cardamom and Scottish pine in Desobeissant conveys the olfactory atmosphere of a first-class spa or sauna visit. If that was the theme, then the fragrance deserves 10/10 points. It smells just like a beautiful classic sauna infusion with high-quality organic oils. And I have been going to saunas for many, many years!

What will it be today? Pool or spa? I don't want to miss either fragrance in my collection. Each is unique in its own way, like two artists with two different interpretations of the same theme or impression. In my opinion, Imagination mainly impresses with its freshness, while Desobeissant comes across as a bit greener, warmer, and more relaxed. I like to compare Imagination to a beautiful swimming pool. Wonderfully fresh, cool, and soapy (chlorine). Meanwhile, Desobeissant represents a relaxed and also sensual spa and sauna area. Both are absolutely brilliant.

Unfortunately, there aren't many videos and feedback on YouTube yet about this wonderful fragrance, as it was only launched in 2025. But a YouTuber from Spain described it as one of the ten best in the citrus/spicy category. I 100% agree, even though I certainly don't know all the citrusy spicy fragrances on the market. I am only speaking from my small fragrance horizon. The topic of citrus scents is somewhat complicated for me anyway, as I often automatically get Klostein vibes. Even if it smells good and I like acidity, the association is often decisive. Many good fragrances like Isola Blue have unfortunately had to move on because of this. If lemons are not showcased well, they can become annoying over time.
But with Desobeissant, I will never get tired of it. On the contrary! The more I wear it, the more I like it.

Personally, I think it's good that the fragrance hasn't received as much attention as Imagination. This makes it all the more interesting for me. I love the role of the underdog, and the name is actually inappropriate. I would find “Sérénité” (German: Gelassenheit) more fitting.

But as always, it's all just a matter of taste.

Sporty Elegance Smells Like Desobeissante Givenchy

It’s a fragrance that immediately brings an outfit to mind. I can’t help it.
A man or woman of slender stature, fine facial features, naturally styled hair, a fresh complexion, elegant clothing.
Perfectly fitting trousers, a fitted shirt or blouse, a minimalist watch, and sunglasses.
Everything you need to tackle any demands of the day. Without excessive effort or fuss.
For some, it’s a meeting; for others, client appointments await. A young dynamic mom taking the kids to the movies, a father picking up his son from afternoon sports. A thousand different everyday situations.
The wearer of Desobeissante exudes prosperity and stability, and above all, the sense of having life under control. But also style, taste, and elegance!

Desobeissante, which interestingly means "indecent" but smells exactly the opposite, opens for me with almost all the listed notes.
Sour fruity citron, the big one I often smelled in the Mediterranean region, mixed with the milky spice of cardamom (which for some reason smells like fig to me). The fresh black tea notes are also almost immediately present, and just a little later (10-15 minutes) the woods come in. Each note can be easily discerned here, and the mix is MAGIC!

Sillage and longevity are in the medium range, so completely satisfactory, but the crucial aspect is of course the aroma itself. It is very, very beautiful.
For me, an exceptionally well-made fragrance. I think after this decant, I will get the large bottle. This feeling when wearing it is simply wonderful!
