Deep, woodsy rose
Sensual is the perfect name for this scent, for it definitely lived up to its expectations.

Very Irresistible Sensual is rather different in comparison to the original. This fragrance lacks the fruity notes and has stronger hints of peony, patchouli and rose.

At first I was rather surprised by this fragrance's softness. It took a while to adjust, because I had initially expected something rather strong. The sillage is quite average here, however I don't see that as a bad thing.

The sensuality comes from the deep, rich woodsy notes, the earthy patchouli and the vanilla. The peony and rose notes create a feminine, and slightly soapy clean feeling.

I'd describe this fragrance as being lusciously sexy. Something that is both lusty and intriguing.

irresistible
Today I was wandering around a special display in the perfume department at Karstadt.
A beautiful sight to enjoy.
And that’s how it should have stayed, as I had just dragged the lovely Romance to the checkout yesterday.
But instinctively, the friendly saleswoman appeared out of nowhere and offered her assistance.
I couldn’t refuse.
A purple box from Givenchy had caught my attention: Very Irresistible Sensual.
Unfortunately, there was no tester available.
But dutifully, she rushed to the stockroom to look for one.
Breathlessly, after a short wait, she handed me a beautifully shaped purple bottle, saying: A lovely patchouli scent.
She wasn’t lying.
A patchouli-rose spirit escaped from the bottle, curled around my nose - and was at my service.
My resistance was gradually fading.
The star anise is enticingly spicy and the vanilla is soft and warm.
Truly sensual - sensuous.
Delicately oriental - in short: irresistible.

That was enough as a reason to buy - and my husband was understanding as well.

The creamy, soft version of VI
Sensual lacks what bothers me immensely about the regular Very Irresistible: the initial citrus jolt that has ruined quite a few delicious scents for me.

The fragrance opens creamy, with an unmistakable rose cloak, nestled in the cozy, velvety murmurs of vanilla and patchouli. I can also detect the star anise, which rounds everything off in a subtly polite manner. Delicious, feminine, purring. A great scent, neither scratchy nor spicy nor zesty, a nice bottle - that is a rare occurrence among the scents I love - only the "fashion color purple!" isn't such a hit, but I can get over that. However, you really have to like roses, I agree with MsGolightly: The note is very dominant.

I had a full bottle, but eventually gave it up and kept only a smaller decant - why exactly? I fear I need it back. The surveyed men in my vicinity find it very pleasing, but it doesn't achieve absolute top marks. I can imagine the scent very well for a romantic, cultured dinner.

Sensual
It has been a while since I tested it. Therefore, I can't remember the scent notes very well. But I do recall what I associated with it. I believe this is definitely a fragrance for an evening for two. It is subtle and stays close to the body. The base is very sensual and rounded, but the rose stands out a bit too much. Still, a beautiful scent that I will definitely buy at some point.

Lightly sweet pink roses release a delicate fresh rose mist. Everything feels bright, cozy, and well-groomed. What a lovely everyday scent.

Joyful rosy elegance - soft and casual. It embraces you with trust. A likable companion.

Bold start! Spicy, zesty, invigorating, peony-like.
Later transforms into a rich, sensual, sweet, wonderful rose cream.

I keep noticing that I really like the fragrances by Dominique Ropion. This one has something special, spicy - it's not just a simple rose scent.

Unfortunately, it's a very artificial rose soup (the invented roses in the pyramid are quite accurate), and overall, it's very sweet and sticky.

At first, it's very very sweet, I didn't like it at all. But after about 30 minutes, it develops into a beautiful floral scent with the roses. Good!

Unfortunately, I can't smell the rose in this sweet artificial blend of flowers.
Overall it's okay, but nothing more.

Star anise makes this an interesting blend. It adds a subtle spice to the rose scent with patchouli, yet it's still quite soft.
