There are days like this ...

There are days when I don't want to be sweet and nice, but I want to appear sovereign and independent. It's Cabochard Days. On such a day I do not want to present myself to my counterpart with flowery and pleasing scents. I prefer the unconventional and angular note of Cabochard. Admittedly, such a day does not exist so often, but if it does, then it must be exactly this scent. You don't want to please yourself with Cabochard, you have to please yourself first and foremost.

The fragrance starts with a little lemon, which hides behind a scratchy herb again very quickly and only came out and so, the description "herber spicy men's fragrance" probably hits it quite well at this time. Slowly the scratchy herb fades into the background and the fragrance develops into a less flowery one, without any sweetness or sweetness. At this idiosyncratic stage, it stays with me for quite a long time until a warmer, very beautiful undertone is added at some point. Altogether it is a very green scent, which is very difficult for me to put into words, and therefore it is best to try it out yourself.

If I am to associate this scent with a landscape, then the only thing that comes into question for me is the idiosyncratic, charming rocky coast of Brittany. Spectacular, partly quite rugged, often rainy, but absolutely worth seeing.

Lovable scratch brush

After reading the comments and statements, I ordered Cabochard. Blind. I love nostalgic scents, aldehydes, oakmoss, corners and edges, etc. and the ingenuity and courage of the perfumers of bygone times. Cabochard was introduced to the market in 1959 and is therefore older than myself. Probably this fragrance was reformulated and I can't say if it smells different today than it did then. Even if the feathers of today's version were probably trimmed, it's worth taking a nose out of it ... or even two or three, provided you have a weakness for fragrances that don't correspond to the current mainstream.

Cabochard starts off with slightly soapy aldehydes that march with a discreet citric background in a green and herbaceous tangy direction, which is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. From today's point of view one would probably present this fragrance in the men's segment, or at least declare it as "unisex", although it came onto the market at that time as a women's fragrance. In any case it is portable for the lady as well as the gentleman.

After a while the green astringency is joined by flowers, of which I can only identify Ylang-Ylang, Jasmin and the powdery Iris. But they don't push themselves into the foreground and steal the show from the green, but weaken the astringency. The fragrance becomes green-floral without becoming sweet or even sweet.

Gradually, Cabochard gains in warmth, depth and suppleness as sandalwood, musk and patchouli make their appearance. The oak moss does not spread bitterness and old, soft leather completes the impression of security, smoothes corners and edges, rounds off and creates harmony. Fortunately, I cannot perceive the dreaded coconut, at least not its smell, but it certainly makes its contribution and is probably responsible for the creaminess I feel.

The shelf life of at least 10 to 12 hours is also not without and all the Cabochard not yet know and feel off the beaten mainstream paths at home, should not shy away from a test.

Pumuckel on Speed

Soon it will be Schwiegi's birthday, and as a real spontaneous Aries lady, she also needs a lively fragrance.

Cabochard crossed my mind.

I commuted between the EDT and EDP - but the EDP comes towards me somewhat milder - although it is still not tame, but bubbles with temperament.

Full spicy, but charmingly dimmed by the soft rose and the powdery iris.
The oakmoss is tart but not bitter - and the milky coconut, together with the saucy tobacco, provides a quantum of softness.

Therefore, the scent is not a cuddly kitten for a long time - but it is also not creepy.

The EDP does not want to offend - it wants to experience something.

Fits the character of the tireless Schwiegi.
Sitting still isn't her profession.

She always has to get up, pluck the curtains, pick a rose in the garden, oil the squeaking door by the way.

Pumuckel on speed - her son used to say - but all actions are somehow kind.

It's a real beast of fragrance....

...with tremendous durability and Sillage. An almost-not droplet from the stopper of the vial (2ml) has the power of 5 full sprays of the "normal" EdP.
And fragrant does it just like the big brother of Vintage. A concentrated load of herb-green notes paired with a conglomeration of exclusive spices. Even the flowers, which then slowly emerge in the course, seem to have been dipped in Galbanum before, so bitter and "tasty" they smell. Except for the rose, which contributes a small splash of warm floral aromas.
This remains also in the entire smell course present, background indeed, but nevertheless quite clearly.
After long "wearing time" of the perfume then it cracks so properly!!
Moss leather on sandy patchouli, musk dipped in vetyver, subtle-dusty tobacco notes of a cigar-smoking silent movie diva,
With this "scent beast" the bear steps together with Rock'nRoll dancing "Knights of the Round Table", to whom the magician Merlin has just granted a wish.
A fragrance that knows (almost) no boundaries, especially not gender-moderate. Man and woman (but please not under 30) because "Cabochard" perfume is an experienced, knowing fragrance that (for me) requires some maturity.
Although it is a "beast of fragrance", the perfume has no relation to an "animal" fragrance.
Rather he tends towards a "spice-oriental" chypre, which has many plant parts. Like an ancient, gnarled tree that has a wisely smiling, mischievous "face" in its bark....
