Hello hello and welcome to a new fragrance report.
Ah good, it hasn't been a whole month since my last fragrance comment… You know, the reason I hadn't written anything here for so long wasn't because I lost interest in fragrances, and it wasn't because of you, even though I should still mostly refer to you ladies as heartless super-beasts :D
No, I really wanted to finish my Christmas children's book first, which took longer than initially expected because it was just so much work to draw all the pictures and so on, and yes, before you ask, my books are about cat characters, what else?! :D. And even though I will soon start a new volume, I will now sniff fragrances on the side again, so I think it won't take about a whole month or longer until I publish something here again. And hey, while I'm writing this, I've already tested two more fragrances and have drafted my text :)
Anyway, today it's about “Black Perfecto by La Robe Noire” from Guerlain from 2018, a fragrance whose 2017 version I had tested quite a while ago (but I can hardly remember the scent…). I generally really like the Robe Noire fragrances, so I could recommend them to you ladies time and again. Overall, I think, without hopefully sounding like a fanboy, that Guerlain offers really great fragrances and has a very large and good selection, unfortunately, most fragrances are once again mostly aimed at you ladies,… but I sniff through all kinds of fragrances anyway, and yes, let's see how this scent is. The expectations are always a bit higher for Guerlain at least for me, because I haven't really experienced any real duds from this brand (or let's say significantly fewer than with other brands).
So, well, the Robe Noires are about the “little black dress,” so a black, short dress that often looks quite sexy, and unfortunately, hardly any perfume has such a photo of itself in its album here on Parfumo,… *sigh*... but just a side note :DD
Anyway, one can assume that such a fragrance also has a sexy effect, or at least it is a scent for going out. Let's see if that's true.
The scent:
Hmm… even though I haven't had a Robe Noire fragrance in my nose for so long, I'm pretty sure I can recognize the DNA of the Robe Noire fragrances here. Otherwise, the scent starts with sweet powdery notes as well as with roses, which quickly become significantly weaker and are increasingly replaced by cherries. I find that good because I really like the cherry scent here. A little later, a light almond note joins in, then it remains sweet-creamy and powdery, smelling of cherries for quite a while. The sweetness sometimes comes across to me as a mix of iris and violet.
Then at some point, a leather note is added, which fits well with the previous notes, as it doesn't become too strong in its projection.
Towards the end, the fragrance still smells of cherries and is also powdery-soft. Leather is still present, although somewhat less intense, while roses are hardly noticeable anymore. With musk, a new, darker sweetness is added. The fragrance remains very pleasant and is simply beautiful. The only disappointing thing (for me) was that I couldn't smell the tea.
The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is good, I'm sure it should be noticeable for a while.
The longevity is also very good. Applied in the morning, it lasted well until the evening. Even the next morning, there was still a light, sweet scent on my arm.
The bottle:
At first glance, the bottle appears to me almost like an Ionic column because of the spiral volutes on the sides, but it is supposed to symbolize a dress hanging on a hanger. After all, these fragrances are about a dress (the little black one). The bottle here is also actually dyed completely black and has a round, light label in the middle. As always, it is a very beautiful bottle that stands out from many other bottles.
Conclusion:
Even though I don't really remember the 2017 version of the fragrance, some memories of this fragrance line came back to me. I think this fragrance here doesn't differ much from the 2017 version; at most, the intensity of the individual notes might vary a bit. Of course, I could be wrong, but well. In any case, the fragrance is successful; while it is nothing extraordinary or new, it smells very pleasant, feminine, and also sexy. Simply “biteable,” as I used to say from time to time.
In my opinion, it is a nice fragrance for going out that one could definitely try. Best in a matching black dress to test everything as authentically as possible. You could also take a photo and so… he he he :D yes yes, hope dies last, as they say… :DD
The fragrance does lean a bit towards autumn, but I think it could definitely be used year-round.
So,… as I suspected, this Guerlain fragrance did not disappoint either, at least not me. And I see that there are now so many different flankers of this line that I am curious to see how the other fragrances smell. Hopefully, I will get to it someday. So then, that’s it for now. Have a lovely evening, everyone, see you later :)
