Since February 2014, the historic Lalique flacon of Bouquet de Faunes is exhibited in the "Hall of Mirrors" of the Guerlain parent house at the Champs Elysées, Paris. On request, it is possible to smell the scent (extrait), which has been reconstructed following the formula of 1922.

Stunning vintage

Absolutely stunning. Opens light and floral with brights Aldehydics and jasmine with a slight citronella twang. Can't say I am too familiar with Bouvardia or Marjoram but they are differently parts of the myriad of florals it dries into along with ylang-yalng, rose, carnation, and a slightly powdery iris. The leathery, furry, vanilla, suede, animalic base is out of this world. There is a touch of sweetness throughout that makes it extremely palatable despite it's harsh, vintage, animalic nature. Not as stinky as expected. Perfectly unisex.

The Afternoon of a Faun

I can hardly believe how lucky I was. After about 5 years of searching worldwide for an affordable bottle of Bouquet de Faunes, I received it a few years ago from a couple of friends (2 incredibly wonderful guys and Guerlain enthusiasts) at a bargain price, out of a moment of celebration. Recently, I learned about the unique opportunity to experience the revived fragrance when visiting Maison Guerlain in Paris. Unfortunately, I can't travel at the moment, but once again, an angel came to my aid. Another Guerlain enthusiast, one of the greatest, received all the important fragrances from Guerlain's past for testing and filled a small amount for me. Since receiving the sample, I've been circling around it. I wanted to wait for the right moment, and to be honest, I was also a bit afraid after my experiences with Djedi and Parfum de Champs-Elysees. Then I turned on my imagination and tried to interpret the name. My thoughts revolved around the opulence and decadence of the turn of the century. Erotic elements in ballets, music, and stories. The faun, lustfully pursuing the maidens in distress.... Slowly, I became greedy for the scent of the faun.
And it does not disappoint my expectations; it exceeds them tremendously!

A top note that holds the animalistic green note of Chamade, the development has much of the cold-hot eroticism of L'heure bleue... but the base is addictive and ethereally powdery. My great love from today onward. We have waited so long for each other....
