Von den ersten Minuten - sehr hell Geranie und Apfel. Dann erscheint Orange, ziemlich hell, mit Krusten, nicht nur Blumen. Die Orange ist nicht zu bitter, nicht zu süß, überdeckt die anderen Noten. Nach und nach tauchen die Hölzer auf, weich, warm. Das Aroma wird durch Zimt und Nelken gemildert, die getrockneten Schalen der Orange. Dann fügt Vanille Süße hinzu. Vertraut, einfach, unbeständig, ähnlich wie so viele, aber dennoch sehr angenehm.

The Perfume That Sparked My Journey

When I started working and finally had my own income, I went to a perfume store. It was late autumn, in November 2017, and the store featured more woody and sweeter scents.
Until then, I had no knowledge of fragrances:
- Which fragrances are suitable for which seasons, or which ones are best for specific
occasions
- What are top, middle, and base notes.
I just wore what I got as gifts and perfumes that were popular and on sale at the moment.
After testing a few samples in the store, Boss Bottled Intense Eau de Parfum immediately caught my attention. The sweet, fruity-woody scent charmed me, and I knew right away that this would be the fragrance I’d buy.
It became my everyday scent that I wore all year round.
When I finished it, I didn’t hesitate and bought a new bottle.
In the meantime, I discovered my love for fragrances and found the Parfumo site.
I’ve tested many different scents and now have a small collection.
This autumn, I returned to Boss Bottled Intense Eau de Parfum and now understand why it attracted me so much back then.
At first, the fragrance has a fresh fruity note of apple, which gradually deepens in character.
The apple is joined by cinnamon and vanilla, and later, woody notes, particularly sandalwood, come through.
The scent is long-lasting on the skin, about 6-8 hours. The projection is strong for the first 2-3 hours, then it settles closer to the skin.
It’s a very good sweet fruity fragrance that remains fresh with woody notes.
It’s mainly suitable for everyday use and it shines the most in fall and winter.
It might not be the best choice on very hot summer days.
It’s a sweeter, warmer, and more intense version of the original Boss Bottled.
I absolutely love this fragrance.
Unfortunately, when I wanted to buy a new bottle, I found out that Boss Bottled Intense Eau de Parfum has been discontinued in 2020.
It was succeeded by Boss Bottled Eau de Parfum
I ordered the original Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette and the newer Boss Bottled Eau de Parfum , but I have to say that Boss Bottled Intense Eau de Parfum is still my favorite – my girlfriend agrees!

The best Boss Bottled flanker

Boss Bottled Intense Eau de Parfum by Hugo Boss is a woody spicy fragrance released in 2016 and composed as an intensified interpretation of the original Boss Bottled from 1998.

As far as I can remember, the original edition was one of my earliest “gateway drugs” into the world of perfumery, which I have covered in the most important fragrances that got me into this hobby.

As you may know, not even five years since its release date, the Intense Edp version is already discontinued, but still regularly available via retail or fragrance discounters. Previously released Boss Bottled Intense Eau de Toilette is also nowhere to be found as well.

Here are my 5 quick takes:

1. Old school fragrance that is still wearable today
2. Best used in colder months as a daily scent
3. Released in 2016 as an updated version of Intense Eau de toilette
4. Fantastic value for money at this time
5. Synthetic and kinda flat composition lacking the notes that made original great

The scent profile of oriental spicy notes is dominated by vanilla, cinnamon, and green apple. The performance is much better than in the current original Eau de Toilette version with 8 - 10 hours with moderate projection.

Due to the timeless scent profile, I see it as a versatile fragrance usable in almost any scenario. Great for gents over 30 years of age.

Beware The Boss' Wrath!

Sacrificing some of the freshness from the original, this is a definitely a stronger and more tenacious take on the Boss Bottled scent we all know. The scent itself is focused on the spicy vanilla-sandalwood accord, making it more suitable for cooler seasons/environments.

That said, two to three sprays should be enough to last past the eight hour mark. Any more and you risk incurring what I call The Boss' Wrath: the dry-down.

Unlike the original, this has kind of a dark, spicy vetiver focused dry-down that might send others backing away if it's projecting. Consider taking it easy on the sprays to avoid angering The Boss, who should also be taking it easy towards the end.

I wanted to let myself go completely, to soak you in, nibble on you, within me.

A breath of air came through the room, warm, bringing in the bouquet of the flower arrangement that stood on the table in the next room. I shivered a little, but I wasn't cold, quite the opposite! You looked so sexy and smelled so good! I closed my eyes and enjoyed the lovely scent. I thought of your perfect shape and size.
I sighed with delight. The cinnamon-spicy aroma paired with clove-warm apples caressed my nose, which was now very close to you. And then...

BAM. Right into my mouth! Oh dear, I got a bit messy, WHO CARES. Because:

I LOVE apple pie, especially the incredibly delicious kind fresh out of the oven!

This scent doesn’t remind me of the teen movie American Pie, but it evokes really delicious associations. More grown-up than the 90s original, more elegant, sexier.
In the opening, fruity-fresh, then this incredibly attractive heart note of clove, cinnamon, and apple, gently accompanied by whispered floral accords, in the base woody and fresh, close to the skin, YUMMY. The apple-cinnamon note always floats subtly along but leaves room for the other fragrance notes.

I admit it: apple pie belongs with cream. Or vanilla ice cream. Or BOTH.
The scent doesn’t need that, but if you like, you can smear your partner of choice with it and then lick it off. You may, you don’t have to. ;)
