Soft, Warm, and Inviting
This is Imaginary Authors’ most recent April Fools release to date, and fortunately, it’s no joke!

I blindly scooped up a full bottle of this almost immediately after receiving the release email because the description highlighting peach, cream, and benzoin was too hard to resist.

I’m not uncritical of IA as a house, and I’ve been let down by a sample or two of theirs in the past. This is not one of those let downs!

It opens immediately with a fresh, soft and extremely bright peach , it’s not photorealistic but only because I don’t think a real peach could smell quite this peachy. The opening lingers for a while but gives way to a sweet (not too sweet) Chantilly note that rests beautifully underneath the warmth of the peach. As it dries some of the vanillic benzoin comes through, harmonizing extremely well with the sunny, fruity top notes and giving just a hint of freshly bathed skin, soft and cottony.

The bottle mentions notes of honeydew, which I suppose you can pull out of this just a bit in between bites of peach, but it is not a star in this fragrance by any means.

Overall, this a soft, gently sweet and extremely nostalgic scent that leans decidedly feminine but would likely be gorgeous on anyone.

Great job IA! Extremely pleased with this release.

Interesting, nuanced, varied peach-led creation
Sampling the latest release from Imaginary Authors, First Peach of the Season, a sort of nuanced fruit salad medley led, of course, by peach, the house’s first fragrance to feature a prominent peach note, from what I can recall. It’s fruity but also a bit nectary and floral, infused with the other contributory notes of Chantilly cream, jasmine lactone, honeydew melon, and bigarade. There are creamy and tart qualities that round out the fruity aspect. It certainly feels loud, announcing itself proudly. I generally find peach to be a challenging note to enjoy in perfumery but unsurprisingly find it to be well-executed in this Josh Meyer creation. I’ll have to give it some more thought, myself, but I think peach fans especially should rejoice at this new creation, a nice spring/summer option to complement others in the line like Saint Julep, Sundrunk, and Every Storm a Serenade.

As with the rest of the house, this is EDP concentration and priced at $115 for 50ml, sold in the US via the house website and (soon) the usual retailers, I imagine, like Perfumology.

The functional aspect of peaches
When I saw this one coming out I was hyped! Took some time, but I finally got my hands on a sample thanks to a trusted Facebook fragrance group seller.

When I first smelled it on my boyfriend, I thought he had sprayed Sous L'Abricotier since both are very similar, even though we've finished this fragrance a long time ago. They both have a strong functional aspect of body wash / soap coming from Lush, which means it's a synthetic kind of product and the main reason why it won't be going into my collection. It's nice and I see myself washing myself with it, but I wouldn't want to wear it as a fragrance or as the main thing I'm smelling during the day. It gives off strong synthetic peach vibes, the more syrupy, almost pastry-like one. It has a very strong creamy aspect, almost lactonic to it. It also has a lot of warmth radiating, probably from the benzoin.

All in all, it's one of the better version of peaches in fragrance I've seen in awhile, but it scored low due to its very strong functional aspect paired with the synthetic accord. Isn,t my kind of thing, but I'm pretty sure a lot of people will be enjoying it!

A well blended synthetic peach
As with all perfumes from this house, I appreciate what they are trying to do. This opens with a heavy peach note, and slowly transitions to something creamier, warmer, and deeper. I actually quite like the dry down of this. On me though, the opening of the peach had a sharpness to it that I actually quite disliked. It smelled almost too synthetic, and had that sharp "fall candle" aspect where it kind of, burns? in a way. I havent seen other people say this so I assume its something to do with my own personal chemistry but for that reason this isnt one I would put into my permanent collection.

Peachy musk
This is my first fragrance from Imaginary Authors and it is a nice juicy peach also get alot of the musk or maybe that is the flower paired with it. I enjoy the scent i think it will be nice for summer. I get a bit of a summer beach sitting by the pool wearing coconut scented sunscreen and sipping on a peach cocktail

Absolutely obsessed! I smell like a Japanese peach Kit-Kat and never want to go back to smelling like anything else. Very entrancing.

Sweet, syrupy and synthetic peach fragrance. Has that functional aspect of a body wash or a soap from Lush.

I normally dislike synthetic peach smell/flavor etc. But this blew me away, sweet and nice peach smell that reminds me of candy. Love it.

Glad it’s not actually April Fools! Great peach, perfect for summer. Very juicy & bright, a little woodsy & lactonic, but not overly sweet.

Yummy. More fruity than gourmand. Fresh and balanced
