Sparkling fruity oriental
The main notes selected by members above go for the drydown. This weird but gorgeous one, starts out full of aldehydes and sweet lovely fruits and flowers. It transforms after a while into a warm bunch of syrupy flowers laying under a layer of high quality powders. It ends in a very sweet animalic-balsamic oriental scent which isn't loud on my skin.

I find it rich, sparkling, bright and exuberant. It has the boldness and strength of the last century's ending decades perfumes but with an incredible rich sweetness that shadows some of the more recent orientals. This is a complex, and not so common blend of ingredients, that evolves beautifully along the first four hours on me. This combination of originality, deliciousness and complexity in evolution isn't new coming from the nose which created this perfume.

Sillage won't be agressive if you apply properly and I can still feel it after seven hours, so for my demanding skin, it is a long lasting perfume.

I love it and I'm really happy I could find a bottle after having tested it for a while. I suggest all very sweet oriental flower lovers to try it before it becomes absolutely impossible to find a bottle. The bottle by the way is beautiful too.

The Neck Biter
It doesn't happen often that I 'just try' a (especially rather unknown) women's fragrance. In this case, it was due to escaping a rain shower - and an extraordinarily beautifully shaped bottle that I noticed immediately, even though it wasn't really prominently placed. It turned out to be worthwhile, as Nuits Indiennes is (far beyond the beautiful bottle) a little fragrance gem.

The term 'Neck Biter' generally refers, albeit somewhat pejoratively, to a subgenre of trivial literature. A typical title might be 'Uncontrollable Corsair', and at its core, it usually revolves around the more or less dramatic story of a young woman who finally and unexpectedly discovers passion and finds her one true great love. I don't want to judge the sense or nonsense of these books - especially in days like these, when everything outside seems so terribly cold and brown, a bit of escapism can be quite nice. Nevertheless, this genre typically shows a clear repetitive pattern: the young thing falls into the hands of the aforementioned corsair during one of his raids and calls him - pounding her fists against his chest - a scoundrel while crying out. Later - perhaps on a stormy night with the wind howling - he confesses to her that he must restore the honor of his once-respected family because he promised his grandfather, and she forgives him his rudeness. Dramatic events unfold, her dress tears, and she finally becomes a woman in the heat of his arms. In short: something happens in these books that - forgive me this little prejudice - are rather read by genteel creatures, as it seems so much more exciting than the land registry office of Bielefeld. The books or their covers are often elaborately designed - the lettering is golden and embossed (sometimes even the book edges are golden or red), and a typical motif is a woman who can hardly contain her passion, being kissed on the bare shoulder or neck by a daring man, hence the name 'Neck Biter'.

Nuits Indiennes begins with the hint of a lot of passion; one almost wants to tilt their head to the side and close their eyes in joyful anticipation of what may come next. Even its top note is beautifully fragrant and shows a solid and exquisite sensuality, but only shortly thereafter does its pulsating warm heart of jasmine and rose bloom. There seems to be a promise in this heart note - like a suggestive whisper - as he kisses her neck and tears the silk from her bare shoulder - a promise, however, that is not meant to be fulfilled. And it is precisely in this 'non-fulfillment' that its charm lies: it promises much, offers much in the first twenty minutes, yet ends decorously and beyond any sin - without disappointing. The flowers remain as nothing more than a delicate noble veil hovering over its vanillaceous dark base, covering what they just revealed. Thus, it is equally sensual and enchanting, with honey-colored ripeness and yet - in the positive sense - exceedingly conventional.

Conclusion: a truly beautiful fragrance full of warmth, sensuality, and security, momentarily wild and quite daring on the surface - yet not too daring for the Bielefeld land registry office.

Sensual Seduction
It was in September 2017 when we were sitting for dinner in southern France by the harbor. As it often is, the terrace was full, and everyone was in great spirits enjoying the evening. Suddenly, a woman walked by, and she had a scent that captivated not just me but the entire terrace. Wow, what a fragrance! She seemed to float past us with this scent, which lingered in the air for minutes afterward. My husband wasn't the only visitor who inquired about this fragrance. Unfortunately, she was already gone, and I couldn't ask anymore. It was a soft, velvety, slightly spicy scent - definitely an oriental.

Although I usually prefer fresh floral scents, I was fascinated by this olfactory aura - I had to have it! I then dove into everything oriental, sniffing, ordering samples and decants, but none of them were it. I tested Coco, Samsara, Joop, Shalimar, and other usual suspects. Unfortunately, it wasn't any of those. They all had a rather old-fashioned touch for me. I then gave up and almost forgot about my endeavor until I caught a whiff of that scent again on vacation in 2018. This time, I could immediately ask the wearer: It was Scherrer Nuit indienne!!! A brand unknown to me until then. I bought it right away, as Scherrer is quite hard to find here in Germany. The Scherrer fashion house is also known in the fashion world for its exclusive creations.

Now to the fragrance: Nuit indienne starts off directly floral, exotic, spicy, and fresh. For a brief moment, it reminds me of Chanel No5 in this initial phase. It might be the soapy aldehydic aspect. However, this impression changes quite quickly, making way for incredibly soft ylang-ylang flowers, heliotrope, and vanilla. Later accompanied by creamy sandalwood, wonderful benzoin, and amber. All in all, it is a very homogeneous and incredibly mysterious, sensual, and feminine scent that captivates me from beginning to end and envelops me like a silky veil. Nuit indienne is extremely extravagant and more suitable for special evenings or occasions. It needs a grand gown to shine. And it certainly does. It provides a cloak of soft exoticism and velvety femininity. An unusually beautiful scent for a grand entrance. The sillage is high, and the longevity is enormous, lasting at least 10 hours.

Conclusion: Nuit indienne is a great seducer and flatterer. An unusual fragrance for the evening and special occasions. It would be too opulent for the office. With its floral notes, it's a modern floriental for women over 25 who love a grand entrance, life, and warm scents. I got to know it in summer and find it absolutely wonderful for summer evenings. However, in our latitudes, it is more suitable for autumn and winter.

The Delicious Angel
In the land where milk and honey flow, Scherrer’s Nuits Indiennes is made.
In the pretty, slender, well-crafted bottle, there could indeed be aromatic, liquid, golden honey.
I have rarely smelled such a pleasing and fragrant perfume and can hardly imagine anyone not liking it. It is a warm, cozy feel-good scent without edges or corners.
Personally, I find edges and corners bothersome when it comes to feeling good. The scent is harmonious and soft.
Somewhat out of the overly sweet trend, like Rochas Absolu, but absolutely beautiful and balsamic.
Warmly ambrosial, warm-floral, and everything appears in a golden-yellow glow.
Ylang Ylang, jasmine, sandalwood, vanilla, and patchouli in equal parts.
What does this result in after about 2 hours of wear, when the rose and white flowers, which might have initially disturbed someone, have receded a bit?
Nuits Indiennes or the prettier, softer version of Mugler’s vintage Angel.
Give it a try if Mugler’s patchouli isn’t soft enough for you and something has always bothered you about Angel, then test Nuits Indiennes.
And even if you have absolutely nothing to do with Angel, but you like balsamic, feminine scents. And even if you say I’m crazy and the scent has nothing to do with Angel, just try it.
For me, it was a blind buy and the other comments also describe the scent fabulously. It is simply fabulous.

My dear Mr. Singing Club
After having owned Scherrer 1 and 2 for quite some time and also possessing the new versions, I was indeed curious about the Indian Nights.
Unfortunately, the original version passed me by back then, but at least there was the new one. So, off to the fragrance temple and let’s spray it on.

Two decent sprays later:

First, there was a generous portion of fruits in my nose, juicy and sweet, but not too sweet, followed by a lush dark red, velvety floral bouquet - we considered opening the car windows on the way home, but it would have been too cold for us - Later, in the comfort of my living room, the base emerged, kneeling-worthy, warm, sensual, dark, with vanilla and patchouli thankfully holding back, and I bet there’s more in there than indicated in the pyramid.
Thoughts of cuddling by the fireplace didn’t cross my mind, rather something else ;-)

After that pre-comment, I was expecting a rather tame, cozy little floral oriental, but what came next had more to do with the original than I had anticipated. Anything else would surprise me, as the siblings, although toned down, are still quite recognizable in their character.

The longevity is good at 8 - 10 hours, my coat still smells of it on the third day.
The sillage is decent; men still fall at your feet if you want them to, but rather because they go into a coma if you overdo the dosage. So use it sparingly and better in winter than in summer.

In my opinion, Nuits Indiennes can definitely hold its own against the orientals of the 70s and 80s; if you like those, you must test it.

Very delicate floral-tinged oriental. Starts lightly citrus-woody and ends in floral-spicy creaminess. Yes, it's lovely!

Floral-fresh at first, then powdery-oriental. More of an evening scent, but a lovely one! Very feminine, sensual, and lasts well. Beautiful.

It could be the understated sister of Chanel's Allure Sensuelle. A sexy scent for discerning ladies, I like it simpler ;-))

Lightly fruity, but only subtly oriental compared to the old version. So it's suitable for everyday wear. And yet: it was better before!
