Led on by the promise of tomato leaf
Eerie dark and wet garden on a cold spring night at dusk. Very fresh floral, bordering on harsh, dewy and wet greens. I immediately smell strong basil, lavender and geranium. It’s a little bit piney and herbal, and there’s a spiky sharpness in the nose. It’s very much a fougere. I was hoping the tomato leaf would be more at the forefront but it’s mostly a background player that I really have to search for. The scent is honestly a bit too sharp for me and I find it leans slightly masculine.

After a couple hours I don’t find it overly interesting. I think there’s a slight nuttiness but again, I think I smell it because I’m searching. It’s gotten slightly warmer than the initial cold opening, which I attribute to the sandalwood, but it’s mainly a breezy fresh lavender laid on top of sappy pine and green vetiver. I feel I’ve been led on by the promise of tomato. I do think I might get the tomato leaf deep in the dry down, there’s a sticky and stinky quality lingering in the depths, but why must I try so hard to find it?? While I’m searching, I also find the blackcurrant here, slightly tart and sweet but very faint. Unfortunately, on the surface, this just smells like a boring fresh man to me. I normally really appreciate the uniqueness of jorum scents, but I feel like anything unique got a bit lost here.

More leaf than fruit
The name of this fragrance is a bit misleading. When I think of plucking a tomato, I'm picturing a perfectly ripe, juicy fruit that has the characteristic grassy sweetness & brightness. While the tomato note is present, it is more of a vine/leaf variety and evenly matched with floral & herbal notes.
At first spray, it gives basil, lavender, Sichuan pepper and tomato vine. Sichuan pepper has a floral quality to it and it's the first time I've seen it captured so well. It literally translates to 'flower pepper' in Chinese. The tomato is a bit recessive in comparison. As it develops, you get more geranium in the mix while the tomato becomes more tart. The vetiver in the background also makes it less soapy as it wears.
Compared to other tomato-centric fragrances ( Venise , Scent Stories Vol.2/Ch.03 - Chef's Table, From the Garden , Green Spell), Pluck feels more like a leafy fougere with minimal culinary/salad quality to it. It's still a great fragrance but not the true to life tomato elixir that I was hoping for.
It's an interesting take on tomato & very wearable for Jorum.

Spray it today and tomorrow you forgot how it smelled. Super generic, smells like 9/10 toilet sprays.

Green, herbal. Less tomato leaf on me than I hoped. Absolutely bombastic sillage and durability- dangerous for a not universally appealing scent.

Aromatic fougere with a leafy tomato vine note. Dries down to vetiver very quickly. Strong florals particularly lavender

I wander through the garden
and pick something.
I put basil in my basket,
lavender and all sorts of spicy greens,
a tomato leaf.

Lavender + resinous pine push you into a cold bath, basil leaves float around. Later, bitter geranium joins in. Spicy-green

With a view of the pine avenue.
I'm enjoying a Mediterranean salad.
A rose is on the table.
I smell the fresh green spring.

Minty-green start, basil & lavender elegantly bridge to the rougher geranium. Instead of deep green tomato, I end up with seaweed silver-green.

A scoop of basil & lavender on a sweet base + the sticky smell of hands from picking tomatoes (= tomato tar) + pepper...
