Water Lilies in Fairyland
Why this scent?
The smells that one can perceive at the sea - that salty, spray-algae scent - I really like. When I discovered Parfumo a few years ago, I started looking for fragrances that contain this algae note and came across Fiore Dell`Onda - the flower of the waves. I absolutely wanted to try it! The lack of comments and statements did not deter me from making a blind purchase; on the contrary - it motivated me! The scent description from L’Erbolario promised something enticing: it spoke of foaming sea waves and flowers swaying on them - an exciting image!

Scent impression?
The scent impression is somewhat special and somehow amusing. Why? Because it is very difficult to imagine which waters this is about.
With this scent, I get no iodine, no mud, no algae, no salt. So a trip to the North Sea or Normandy is already off the table. But I was ready for that, as the scent notes promised nothing of the sort (except maybe for red algae). Could it perhaps have something to do with the Mediterranean or the South Sea? Well, here you don’t get any pronounced citrus, no coconut, no tiara flower, no vanilla, etc.
So - river or stream? Pond or pool? Lake or puddle? And where located? The internet research with an excursion into oceanology and limnology (yes, I hadn’t known that term before either) yielded nothing. But after multiple tests and wearings, I believe I know where the journey leads - namely to a charming lake in a delightful fairyland, where charming flower fairies frolic (can one say that about fairies?)
The scent starts fresh, buoyant, slightly sweet (a hint of citrus can be sensed) and indeed slightly algae-like - could that be water lilies? After that, some random little flowers come in a light and fluffy manner, which I unfortunately cannot distinguish from one another - so neither violet nor white rose, as stated in the announced scent notes. Just imagine the vegetation in fairyland - all utterly adorable. This fresh, watery floral-plant-like slightly sweet note dominates the entire scent journey and changes hardly at all, in my opinion. It also comes across as somewhat artificial, which somehow fits the character of the scent - not synthetic, but rather “not of this world.”

Bottle?
The bottle impresses with its bright blue color but is somewhat disappointing in shape. It looks like a blue apothecary bottle and doesn’t seem particularly fairy-like. This is probably due to the image of the quite likeable brand, which specializes in natural ingredients?

H&S?
The longevity is very good, and the aforementioned main note is even slightly perceptible the next day, on clothing even longer. The sillage is rather moderate. A small note - in the bottle photos found online, you either see the inscription “Aqua di profumo” or “Profumo.” I own a “Profumo” bottle.

Conclusion
A light-footed, somewhat shallow floral aqua from the land of unicorns and fairies. For hot days, it can be quite nice if you want to feel something fresh on your skin. And a little fairy dust doesn’t hurt either :)

Blue Water?
I also made a blind purchase with this L'Erbolario fragrance! The bottle in this wonderful blue had me captivated!
Of all the products from this brand that I own as a bottle or decant (which should be about 70% of the current offerings), this one is the weakest in terms of expression! I can hardly smell anything! A very faint, pleasant, slightly aquatic scent impression on my wrist - nothing more!
Well, my nose is probably not the most sensitive, and I generally prefer stronger scents! But this is just too little! If you like it ultra-light, you should definitely give this a try!
And yet: the bottle is still a feast for the eyes!

Fiore Dell’Onda - more for lightweights
Only a small group in this forum likes aquatics, for most they fall under "I don't like." Well, I belong to the "I like" group. However, I've noticed that my idea of aquatic is often different from the common opinion. I've had several aquatic fragrances under my nose in recent years that were anything but aquatic. My idea is roughly this: fresh sea breeze, slightly salty, algae scent, gently brackish, ozone - a scent that you can practically inhale into your lungs and that lets you breathe deeply.

Fiore Dell’Onda is a L’Erbolario, what could go wrong here? I spray and test without looking at the ingredients. I note subtle citrus and algae, mud. In any case, I think of the sea - that's already something. The hoped-for fresh breeze is missing for me, Fiore Dell’Onda is not a heavy fragrance, but I perceive the freshness as more sweet, warm. And after a short time, it becomes vanilla-like, I also think I can sense musk. The scent lasts just under 4 hours, I don't recognize any other notes. According to the packaging, the top note is fresh and maritime, ingredients: lemon, lime, maritime accords through red nori algae, heart note: floral, watery (ingredients: blue water lily, white rose, lilies, violets) base note: mossy (white moss, vanilla beans) The flowers have been withheld from me by the fragrance, well, maybe diluted? My conclusion: a friendly summer scent, more for lightweights than for sea bears, but not a "must-have," I miss the stiff breeze and a few edges. I could well imagine that aquatic haters could get along with it.

I really like the glass bottle, as it is in a rich turquoise blue. Fiore Dell’Onda is unisex and develops best in warm temperatures. I see sillage and longevity in the weak to medium range.

By the way, I just bought New West, Mr. Pluto has a birthday coming up and the fragrance will be a small addition to the gift - psst, not entirely selfless, I don't know New West, but I hope for a really nice aquatic - hope dies last.

Addendum 19.07.15: After testing it a third time, I have to lower it to 60%, compared to others rated at 70% this is only fair.

Vanilla-salt-sea. Delicate, light flowers sway on the dark water. Sweet, watery algae aquatic, just the way I like it.

Very soft-aquatic, airy and a bit floral, it's the little hidden lake with delicate floating flowers.

It really reminds me of the smell of the sea, very salty, maritime. It awakens desires. Fresh and warm at the same time. Great!

I only smell the sea in the opening, quickly evolving into a water lily pond. Violets bloom on the shore. A floral-fresh summer companion.

A hint of salty citrus; reminds me of preserved lemons. Plus a few flowers. In the dry down, vanilla musk. Thin + watery. Nope.

Fiore Dell' Onda / Wave Flower. Delicate water lily floating on slightly lemony vanilla sea water, with a hint of algae and almost invisible.

Creamy aquatic with powdery pond flowers. Very similar to Salina. Perfect for an adventure day at the indoor pool. Balancing.

Challenging top note, but the heart becomes quite lovely if you like a slightly powdery lilac-vanilla combo - more floral-creamy than aquatic.
