Oh what a pity
I really wanted to like it because it's a Chanel dupe, because the bottle is so beautiful, and because the scent pyramid appealed to me so much. I tested it in two different stores, and both times my first thought was, "Phew, this has gone off." I don’t have the most refined nose, I admit, so I can’t grasp some fragrances very well. But with this one, I am quite surprised that so many people find it appealing - or did I really just happen to come across two bad testers? That shouldn’t be possible.

So what is my problem with the scent? When I spray it, my first association is how I imagined perfume as a child. Back then, my first perfume experiences were at my grandma's and neighbor's vanity, where there were several samples in the drawer - all of which had already gone off. To my nose, it’s just so piercing that I really don’t want to smell any further to pick out more specific notes. It’s not even alcoholic, but just so chemical and scratchy.

During today's second test, I threw away the test strip after a few minutes, but the first time I accidentally took it with me and found it again in my backpack after 2-3 hours. At that point, it smelled exactly like a men's perfume.

I am confused.

Love at First Spray....
This is my first review that I am writing about a perfume, I hope I don't come across as too silly...

Since my previous favorite scent Venezia Pastello is unfortunately no longer available and I have long outgrown my teenage years, I set out last week to find a new perfume. Since I didn't want to spend too much money at first, I was looking for an affordable scent for everyday use.
In dm, I then discovered the "La Rive" perfumes and tested my way through them. There were some really great scents, but none had that certain something that would make it my new favorite perfume, until I came to "Madame Isabelle | La Rive." Unfortunately, there was no tester available here. However, since I liked the packaging and the price was also reasonable, I went for it. At home, I eagerly and curiously opened the packaging of my blind purchase and took the bottle out. I looked at it thoughtfully and asked: Will we get along in the future? Do you want to be my new companion in everyday life, at work, and when going out?
Do YOU have what it takes to be my new favorite scent? And above all: can you worthy replace my old favorite "Venezia Pastello"???
I already really liked the simple glass bottle, just like the delicate pink fragrance inside. Full of joy, I took off the cap and sprayed the perfume on my wrist....
A wonderful warm scent filled my nose, like a loving embrace. There was that magic that I had missed so much in the other scents I had briefly tested in dm, and it immediately captivated me here. I fell in love with this scent right away.
When my mother and sister also said that I was wearing a great perfume and that the scent suited me perfectly, I knew I had found my new favorite scent.
My joy was even greater when I found out online that the "Madame" is the scent twin of a very specific expensive luxury fragrance, and is said to smell similar.
In my opinion, "Madame Isabelle" really smells extravagant, luxurious, and simply stunning......
By the way, the scent lasts easily 8 hours on me.
I will keep repurchasing it and am glad that I fell in love.

Hay?
Upon first application, I was pleasantly surprised and the scent felt very familiar and pleasant to me. After some time, I figured it out - I smell hay! Strange, since hay is not listed as a note. But never mind, the fragrance catapults you to the field, to the horse pasture, or into the hayloft. I actually smell nothing but hay the whole time, and I like it.

Tour de Dupe: Season 5
Oh dear - this station has been the most challenging so far. Madame Isabelle has yet to captivate me, perhaps because I have never liked the original from Chanel. Unlike with Chatte, my aversion has remained, although I find Madame Isabelle better and more wearable than the original. If the La Rive variant were released as an Eau de Cologne, the hype would probably be huge.

I find this version very wearable and less shrill and less over-the-top than the original. Unfortunately, it lasts very poorly on me. 2 hours and… almost gone. So it’s more suitable for 35 degrees in the shade or very short outings.
In fact, Isabelle is less madam-like than her name suggests: she spins around quite sexily, carefree, fresh, fruity, and powdery. As mentioned above, she runs out of steam pretty quickly… although that’s not entirely true: Isabelle just becomes so close to the skin so quickly that the environment doesn’t really notice her anymore. Unless one approaches the Isabelle wearer in a very un-madam-like way (and I could imagine that THIS could also be a goal).

She radiates good vibes and even laughs. So the money spent here is well - and at a reasonable amount - invested. But the spark just doesn’t quite ignite for me. Maybe it’s because the main statement of Madame Isabelle/Coco Mademoiselle doesn’t resonate with me at all and therefore doesn’t appeal to me.
But maybe it’s also because I - traumatized by Coco M. - always perceive scents of this kind as particularly penetratingly shrill giggling girls of various ages, who stand out more for their silliness than for style or sophistication.
My love-hate relationship with Sarah Kern would probably make her liiiiiive it *scream*, I can very well imagine Anouschka Renzi with it *pouty face* or even various (ex-)WAGs (obviously now a job title) probably guzzling it by the bottle *puts on giant sunglasses*.

Coco M. was, in my opinion, the first mass fragrance from Chanel. It hit like a bomb, and the hype was enormous, as were the scent clouds. Finally, Chanel had something for the young, the trendy, the fashion-conscious students, the young-at-heart generations of the 1950s-60s, and so on. The scent itself has never convinced me and has always felt too girly. Loud, shrill, annoying, cheap.

La Rive has toned all of this down to a truly bearable level, which clearly makes Madame Isabelle the better Mademoiselle for me. At times, I even find it almost herbal, and it is wearable without being irritating. Good!

Madame Isabelle is lighter and easier to wear than CM. Great for warm weather and office. Grown up and pleasant.

Similar to Coco Mademoiselle, sweeter top notes, artificial heart, less full-bodied drydown. Easy to wear. Not discontinued, currently 30 ml/3.90€.

For me, the more wearable Mademoiselle. Lighter, fresher, and more harmonious. I love to spray it on more often. Top dupe!!!!

A good Coco Mademoiselle dupe. Fresher and lighter than the original. Suitable for everyday wear. Unfortunately, not great longevity! Needs to be reapplied often.

Very nice dupe and thanks to bergamot,
it also keeps insects away without smelling bad...
Too bad it was discontinued!

Very well done, very similar to the CocoMdm EDP... of course the original is "more precious, deeper" in scent, but I'm impressed, I use it often.

Subtle scent that leans towards the great Coco. It's okay. A bit stronger than an Eau de Cologne, looks wonderful. The price is great too!

For me, it's a dupe of Coco Mademoiselle EDT. Very well done, but terrible longevity/sillage.

Exactly halfway between Mademoiselle and Chance Eau Tendre. Not as heavy-sour as mms and more floral than other dupes.

A wonderful soft blend of Louis Vuitton Attrape-Rêves and CM. Wearable and office-friendly, never too much. Very nice!
