Crystalline Sweet Roses
Rose Extraordinaire is a very rose forward flanker to the La Vie est Belle line. It stays true to the orginal's heart, while remaining slightly airier and fresher. It doesn't dig quite as deep, nor does it linger in the same gourmand territory.

The opening is a rush of sweetness - indulgent - exactly the way fans hope it will be. Sugar gleams for a moment, before softening, settling into its floral nest. The rose has different facets. There's clear rosewater, which paired with iris lends a clean freshness. Then there's a more processed rose: beautiful candied petals, sugar frosted around the edges - the way you might imagine them in a luxurious winter ad or delicately perched on top of fancy pastries and cakes.

Rose Extraordinaire lasts for hours, but when it starts to fade, the rose is the first to disappear. I used to love L'Elixir even more after sampling it in the summer of 2024. But when I bought a travel size in spring 2025 it felt like a different fragrance altogether. Revisiting both has shifted my perspective. Rose Extraordinaire is now, without hesitation, my favorite flanker.

Childhood Dream
A spritz of this new creation unexpectedly transports me back to my childhood, which was quite some time ago.

Once a week, my mother would put my little sister in the stroller and take my hand. We would walk to a drugstore that was in the neighborhood of our previous apartment, but the longer route was worth it, my mother knew, and I knew.

In 1970, we still didn't have drugstore chains like we know them today. The shop was smaller, and the interior was entirely made of dark wood, with shelves and many counters. There was no self-service; every product had to be announced, and it would then be placed in the shopping basket, with advice available upon request. On one of those counters stood a large glass jar full of sparkling treats, tiny fruit candies wrapped in cellophane. And with each visit, I would receive one of those: delicious blackcurrant would fill my mouth in this environment that smelled of rose soap, cream, and baby food.

This association fills me as soon as I spray LVEB Rose Extraordinaire. At first, I think of an Eau de Cologne, with no high fragrance concentration, a bit of refreshing bergamot that also brings warmth. The blackcurrant takes a little time to develop, then it suddenly appears, dominating the scene, and then a creamy base unfolds, a face cream with a light, transparent rose scent, that’s my impression. Slowly, a bit of lipstick, some wood, and a touch of smoke mix in, and I am reminded of summer in the Veneto, when you drive through the countryside where the air smells of sugar beet processing, furniture factories, and burnt garden waste. The iris gradually reveals itself, and the consistency changes from cream to powder. But there is nothing sultry like in an actress's boudoir; I rather see the well-groomed housewife waiting for her husband in a tidy home after his workday.

The fragrance doesn't undergo much more development on me. It stays in this blend close to my skin for hours, only then does the musk dare to come forward a bit. After five or six hours, I would like to re-spray. However, a base remains on the skin that I can still perceive even after twelve hours. So I wake up in the morning still smelling sensually well-groomed.

The scent has a very mutated LVEB DNA; it has retreated into the private sphere. It is not a statement for a grand appearance, but rather my little secret to feel comfortable. It is the evolution from LA vie est belle to MA vie est belle, so to speak.

pink cotton candy in summer
One strolls through the Vienna Prater on a summer day, buys a pink cotton candy, and then continues to wander through the people and all the colorful surroundings. Afterwards, one sits on a bench in the green and cooler shade, flirts a little, and enjoys.
This is roughly how my associations with this fragrance go. The top note has a bit too much cotton candy sweetness, then comes rose, and later musk. The latter two have absolute classic potential and a lot of everyday wearability. In principle, the fragrance can be worn regardless of the situation and at any time of year, however, it doesn't fare well in high summer temperatures, as the sweet cotton candy becomes a bit too overpowering.
All in all, a good rose fragrance, but the sugary sweet top note is strongly dependent on personal taste. For those who enjoy this, the perfume is a good choice.

Soft, warm, herb-sweet, elegant rose
I have been eagerly awaiting this new flanker. Now it has been mine for a few days, and I have thoroughly tested it and - fallen in love!

First of all - I spontaneously gave it a 9 for the scent. I am raising it to 10. It will surely be my most worn fragrance in the coming months.
It is my favorite LVEB version!
It sits between La Vie est Belle en Rose and La Vie est Belle Intensément.
It is more "binding" than La Vie est Belle en Rose.
It is less present and much more pleasing than La Vie est Belle Intensément.
On the other hand, La Vie est Belle L'Eau de Parfum is significantly more praline-like, edgier, and "special" than this one.

Here is its progression:
It opens very fresh, slightly green, but above all modern-rosy. This lasts on my skin for about 20 minutes.
Then the typical LVEB DNA comes through, but much less praline-like, for about 1 hour. The rose remains.
After that, a wonderful, soft, sweet-cloudy, slightly herbaceous (raspberry?) musk fluff lingers. This fluff lasts on me for up to 10 hours, but increasingly close to the skin. The rose lasts about 5 hours. After that, I definitely get some Nivea vibes. Occasionally, a very subtle smoky note comes to my nose. But really just very subtly...

Overall, it has moderate sillage. This lasts for about 2 hours, after which you have to get VERY close to really smell it. I find that totally pleasant because I want to smell like myself, but not overwhelm others. But I do want to be noticed a little. :) Perfect for me!
What remains after 5 hours can be beautifully layered if you want something different for the evening - or you can reapply, because this scent always works!
It works for any season, although I believe I will reach for "cozier, spicier" scents (e.g. Sì (2023) Eau de Parfum Intense) in the fall. Even on really hot days, I can imagine reaching for something else, we'll see.

I would like to
a. promote it everywhere so that it stays in the lineup for a long time, but at the same time
b. actually just keep it for myself!

I have a strong suspicion that this will be my signature scent and I look forward to the opinions that will gather here in the near future.
I have already layered or sprayed it side by side (upper arm/lower arm) with White Tea Eau de Parfum - I find that a great combo, a bit fresher than just alone. I also found Signature Eau de Parfum at another body spot to be a great complement, but I will probably test that again in the fall, as it feels too "cozy" for now.

La vie est belle, douce, florale, joyeuse - et légèrement plaisante!
--------> Enjoy it, my dears.

PS. I find the bottle of the OG okay, but boring. I like this one much more! But of course, starting from 50ml, it is just as unwieldy...

This is really quite nice. A jammy rose, but you can still smell the fresh petals. Candied musk in the background.

Sweet jammy rose. Like rose-water flavored jelly beans!

Lightly sweet pink rose with candy-like lychee notes, nice! (Less endgame LVEB DNA in it than I feared.)
Will definitely be a top seller.

It has everything that's trendy: the rose from Idôle, the cassis from Sì, the praline from La Nuit Trésor; and yet it works! Pretty.

Beautiful for dreaming! Powdery rose, 'clean' through musk, delicate, fresh. Luckily no praline and no resemblance to LVEB Original.

Very beautiful rose, paired with rose water & musk for freshness, so it doesn't get too sweet.
Similar to the OG, but much better.

Sweet rose from the pastry shop, dusted with iris, on a musk base. I also smell creamy, fruity pear? Soft, fluffy.

A rose with a speaker and red-painted thorns. Loud, impossible to overlook - um, impossible to miss and so potent! Caramba!

A very beautiful scent has something of "candied sweets" but also a hint of berries and a candied rose. A mix of Si and Idole.
