DHI pour femme
This perfume is a mystery to me.
When I first tested it, I thought it was Dior Homme Intense (2011) but in a more feminine version.
On the second, third.... i didn't feel it that way anymore, strange.
So if you're hoping for a dupe to DHI, I'm sorry to disappoint you.
But if Dior had launched a DHI pour femme, I could really imagine that it would smell like this.
About the fragrance :
La Collection d'antiquités 1886 starts masculine citrusy, I don't know how mate smells but what I perceive with the bergamot reminds me a bit of neroli.
After just under a minute, the fragrance completely changes direction.
The DD is a little difficult for me to explain, because somehow I hardly notice individual notes.
It's almost a mishmash of many different notes that are all present at the same time.
But no one note really stands out.
Light tobacco, orris root and white musk are the only notes that I can smell out of this jumble.
I hardly notice white chocolate at all and that was actually one of the reasons why I bought this perfume.
So anyone hoping for chocolate a la chocolate greedy or choco Musk will be disappointed here.
Instead, it is spicy, pleasantly sweet, powdery and very creamy.
Reminds me maybe 20% of DHI, otherwise I don't know anything similar.
The powdery and creamy notes give the fragrance something quite feminine.
It is unisex, but I still see it more on a middle-aged lady.
Performance :
It performed quite well on my skin for 9-10 hours.
But the radiance is rather moderate.
Unfortunately, many Lattafas have this "problem".
They hold well but the radiance is sometimes mediocre.
However, for the small price you pay, this is completely ok.
My conclusion :
With almost every fragrance you buy, you hope for the wow effect.
At some point, everyone has unpacked a fragrance, sprayed it on and been blown away.
Tastes differ, but I would still say that most people who own or have tested a lot of good fragrances will not experience the wow effect.
For me a solid 7, not bad but also nothing I would really want to wear often.
