Spice with Orient dream...
Strong, spicy fragnance.
I can feel lots of Spice connected with oriental aura around. Mystery and strong fragnance into it, interesting combination.
Its unisex, but I personally think its more for women.
Sillage is above-average, longevity too.

Exceptional value but no wow factor for me
Qaa'ed opens sweet spicy. Sweetness was a bit much for me, but as it dried down it became much less sweet. It then focused on the woody notes, mainly the sandalwood and oud with the carnation adding a nice bite. Mild vanilla was there; wouldn't call this a strong vanilla scent. Finally got subtle whiffs of leather. Very unique fragrance. Longevity is quite good while the sillage was only moderate for me. Considering the price, Qaa'ed is an exceptional value.

All that said, Qaa'ed didn't wow me. Will probably not be getting a FB.

Spice & Leather: A Winning Blind Buy
I took a chance on this fragrance after seeing mixed reviews, and I'm so glad I did! The initial spray is a burst of warm, spicy notes – cardamom and cinnamon dominate, creating a comforting and intense opening. As a fan of bold scents like Spicebomb Extreme, I was immediately hooked. The drydown reveals a smooth leather note alongside the lingering cardamom. Overall, it's a warm, masculine, and spicy fragrance that punches way above its price point. Solid performance too, with 7 hours of longevity and 2 hours of decent projection.

Been 'macerating' since 2021, still horrible, send help
I bought Qaa’ed for my husband in 2021 and all four of us have rued the day I did ever since. Taken in (and not for the last time, I bet) by all the mentions on Fragrantica of warm gingerbread or cardamom cookies, and conveniently ignoring all the reviews that mentioned how it smelled like a loud men’s aftershave, I imported it at some expense from Indian eBay, from whence it was dispatched – it seemed to me, given the seven weeks it took to arrive – on the back of manatees and elephants.

Exotic back story and all, you might say my expectations were high. One spray was enough to reveal the gravity of my mistake. Give it some time to ‘macerate’ they said, and that synthetic-smelling roar will die down to reveal the glories of a highly spiced, leathery, caramelized woody scent. Reader, it’s been three full years since this thing got shoved to the back of the sock drawer, and having pulled it out again just now, it is with a heavy heart that I inform you that Qaa’ed needs a full 36 months of aging to smell a mere 10% better than it did when you first opened the bottle.

Rather than tell you what’s ok about this scent (a short list indeed, and includes the bottle), I am going to tell you about what’s wrong with it. First of all, the combination of treacly, syrupy sweet notes over those brash ‘burnt wood’ aromachemicals make it smell like any generic designer scent that markets itself as ‘smoky’ or ‘oriental’ these days – anything that comes in a black bottle, basically – and is unfortunately close to the chemical marshmallow BBQ stench of By the Fireplace. The cardamom and other spice notes barely register against the burnt but radiant woody amber, so the gingerbread cookies remain trapped in your hopes and dreams rather than making it out there on your arm. Lastly, its spicy masculine leather notes take it beyond the outer limits of my personal gender stretchiness – I would no more wear this than I would Brut or Old Spice (but obviously, I am not you, so you do you).

Lastly – and yes, I know I already promised that the last point was ‘lastly’ but since my hatred of this knows no bounds, I shall continue – it contains a sulfurous chemical that smells like boiled cabbage or broccoli farts, which means it’s giving a little Hard Leather, another monstrosity, this time of the Norlimbanol sort.

Vegan apricot and peach leather tanned in saffron lye, post-treated with cardamom polish
◘Simplified fragrance pyramid:

Top notes: peach blossom or magnolia, slightly pungent ethereal tones

Heart notes: apricot pulp, peach zest, mango pulp, cardamom, rose geranium

Base notes: saffron extract, vegan (faux) leather, balsamic wood, chemical fixatives
________________________________________________________________
◘Range intensity (projection & sillage):
(6 out of 10) Medium. Has the aura of a new leather set.

◘Progression:
Hardly any progression. Top note barely present, except for pungent ethereal saffron impressions . Heart note quite intense, then mellowing and finally remaining as a leathery, peachy skin scent. Woody tones are then sometimes perceptible. Saffron is always more or less perceptible.

◘Duration:
8 hrs and more. In drydown clearly friendlier, creamier and more natural.

◘Flask & outer design:
Bravo, Lattafa.
Round black imitation leather box lined with anthracite velvet and embossed with logos and names. Flacon made of very heavy glass, but unfortunately framed with cheap-looking, golden plastic faux metal rim. Casket lid sits very tightly on the base. Flacon lid makes wonderful clicking sound when put on, but unfortunately sits quite loosely on spray button surround.
Very nice for the low price. The fakemetal stuff could be omitted, then the design would be much better.
The gold-orange liquid doesn't really match the outer colour of the packaging. Beige leather would have been more appropriate. The fragrance has no association with black.

◘Description:
It is a saffron fragrance. Saffron in different facets. Real saffron is very delicate, expensive, exhausting to harvest and hardly smells intense enough to be mass produced as a perfume base. It is an attempt to mimic the effect of saffron.
In addition, Qaa'ed is also a kind of leather scent. An attempt to make a vegan leather from fruit peels, one might suppose.

One wonders when judging what the fragrance is supposed to express and what it actually expresses.
Some fragrance implementations often fail because of the components used. Here, most likely also a question of price.
Completely uncitrusy at the start, but somehow later becoming balsamic and slightly vanilla, the fragrance seems very synthetic all the time. Yes, that is, synthetic and not artificial, as I am reluctant to use the term synthetic.
Always remaining slightly sweet and nectarine in the background, the fragrance captivates with its radiant, fruity leather note.
The composition as a whole is difficult to assess.
Is it beige synthetic leather, fresh from the factory and treated with natural saffron and other substances to appear more natural, or is it a natural, sweet organic leather that has unfortunately been pimped out with synthetic apricot extract?
Or is it an attempt to create a wear-resistant vegan fruit leather from fruit peels, spices, extracts and chemical additives?
A cream-coloured chesterfield sofa in a room with apricot-coloured walls comes to mind. This represents the fragrance very well.

What I lack in leather feeling in LaYuqawam pour homme, Qaa'ed has too much of.
When I read comments and statements about LY tobacco blaze, and then tested the fragrance, a lot of things seemed wrong to me in retrospect. Just like Qaa'ed smells, that's how I imagined tobacco blaze at the time. But the tb by LaYuqawam is a 90% dupe of Shuhrah.
It's a unisex fragrance. As a woman's fragrance, I find it a bit too intense and too material. As a men's fragrance, it's not spicy enough, not adventurous enough, not action-packed enough.
In drydown / after a few hours on the skin it is very pleasant and then milder nuances of woody and skin tones unfold.

A freshly cleaned cockpit in a cream Bentley or Rolls Royce could smell like this, or an aging yacht could be spruced up with the scent to fetch a better price when selling.
◘Accasion:
Dining out, Dinner, Leisure, Cuddling, Wellness, Sunbathing

◘Season:
Mainly summer

◘Age recommendation:
all ages except the elderly or pregnant women, for whom the scent might be perceived as a little too chemical.
◘Similars & Fragrance Twins:
-

◘Associations:
vegan leather, stone fruit, leather sofa, luxury interior, yacht, handbag, fruity honey
.
◘Other:
People who are exposed to chemical smells on a daily basis, or who work in a furniture store, for example, may not really notice the synthetic content. People who love natural essences and essential oils will not do themselves any favours with this fragrance.

Precious beginning of incense, then, rare 15 min, and from there, it is pure sweet delight, resinous, incense, spiced and woody, beauty.

Very spicy oriental. In the opening, cinnamon and cardamon. Then, a heavy dose of saffron, oud and leather. A smoky vanilla in the drydown.

Opens kinda fresh-spicy, after some time it's smoky, pretty intense, spicy-woody.
The dry-down is a spicy vanilla on a woody-leathery base.

The best conventional Lattafa scent for men of their numerous offerings consisting of the infamous warm & cozy Woody, Oriental, Vanilla DNA.
