One of the best Good Girl dupes out there
If you like Carolina Herrera's Good Girl, but want to save some money or just don't want to own a perfume bottle that looks like a deformed shoe, Qimmah is a great choice. It's also worth looking into if you're looking for a replacement for Good Girl Légère, which is rumored to be discontinued.
Qimmah has a lot of the unmistakable Good Girl DNA. I'm afraid this review won't be very helpful if you never tried the original, but I'll try to describe it anyways. It's a blend of creamy white florals, especially tuberose, with vanilla, tonka, dark cacao and a kind of masculine, almost scratchy note that breaks up the sweetness. That might not sound appealing, but I don't know how else to describe it because this aspect of the scent is not indicated by any official notes. Anyways, this dichotomy is what makes the Good Girl line so sexy and addictive, and the same goes for Qimmah.
There are some differences though.
Just like Good Girl Légère, it's creamier and fluffier than the original. The androgynous note is toned down quite a bit. The opening is fresher and showcases juicy citrus fruits.
But where GG Légère has a caramelly dulce de leche note, Qimmah has a stronger presence of almonds. I have tried them side by side and found that to be the main change. I'm always a bit more partial to caramel, so I prefer GG Légère, but that's a matter of personal taste.
Far in the drydown, Qimmah becomes softer and warmer, a bit powdery even. It feels quite fine-tuned and not as coarse and rough as some Good Girl dupes can be.
Lovely!
