Mango's bare minimum
Initial cloud smells like synthetic apple flavoring. Fruity in a chalky candy way. Unpleasant. Once that settles down, coconut opens up and gives the composition a creamier flavor profile – more tropical, sure, but in a vague "tropical vacation flavored shower gel" way. No mango.
Where's my mango? I was promised mango's best. Where is it? I can feel it clearly on a paper strip, but on my skin – nothing. Just that vague and cheap fruitiness :(
Strong sillage – the whole street will smell it together with you. Great if you like it, really annoying if you do not – because while it does get softer with time, it never really becomes a skin scent. It will continue making its presence known until the bitter end.
Oh, and speaking of bitter end! It lasts forever.
Fruits fizzle away in about ~2 hours, but the creamy woods below latch onto you and never let go. They're quite pleasant at first, even if a bit too strong for me – sharp, prickly. But in another ~2 hours something in the composition starts going sour. Like it's curdling on your skin. And then – good luck getting it out!
I showered – it didn't help. I went to sleep ~5 hours later – it didn't help. I woke up the next day, about ~20 hours since I first sprayed it – and it was still there. Both on my clothes and on my body. That would've been too much even if I loved the smell. But I've come to despise it.
When I tested the same perfume later on my partner, his skin brought out a very reasonable composition of sandalwood and cream and a just a wee bit of unripe mango on the sidelines. The fruits were fleeting and never took centerstage; and while the overall scent did become more sour as time went on, it never spoiled. Kinda boring and one-dimensional, but still a great result compared to my experience.
Who knows, perhaps this thing just has something against my skin in particular. But either way, it was a huge let down. Hard to believe that this came from the same perfumer as my beloved Solo Vulcan :(
