Consumer-friendly corporate hippie aesthetic
What can I say, "Eclectic" is a very fitting name for it. A vibrant orange initial cloud. Heavy florals underneath. A subdued sweet backdrop – creamy, coconutty, almost gourmand... and that's just a start.
In about ~20 minutes prickly pepper becomes visible, and with it – sandalwood, adding a layer of fresh sharp woodiness to an already oversaturated mix. Another ~10 minutes and the initial cloud fizzles out. "Eclectic" settles close to the skin and adds one more layer – warm esoteric resins.
It's kind of a mess, but a very well calculated one. It's a lot, but never too much. It's not screechy. A bit weird, maybe, but in an enticing tourist-friendly way. A very sensible rendition of a long dead hippie aesthetic, perfectly blended and packaged to be a hit tourist attraction. Like a fun memory of getting scammed at an esoteric shop during your tropical vacation.
About an hour into the experience fruity and floral notes start fizzling out. Sandalwood takes centerstage. A pleasant musky woodiness, creamy vanilla and a prominent yet vague tropical aftertaste. Over the next few hours the tropical twinge softens and disappears. Each time you notice it – it's like a bittersweet fading memory.
After about ~5 hours since the first spray a faint sandalwood aftertaste is the only thing left, but it easily lasts into the night.
I tested it on both myself and my partner. On my body jasmine was more prominent, on him – ylang ylang; but I haven't noticed any other tangible difference between our experiences.
Credit where it's due – it's a very thought through and well-blended composition. It has a particular vision and executes it masterfully. I guess I'm just not the target audience for it.
