What a perfume

I am speechless when it comes to this perfume. It belongs to a category of fragrances I don't particularly enjoy usually, yet this is one of my top favorites in my collection. Micallef is a house I like a lot for the refinement of their fragrances, and this is an excellent example. The perfume is a clean fragrance with delicate white florals and rose on a veil of airy musk that is ever so slightly milky (skimmed milk though). Simple you may say, but to do it right, it's not easy! They did it: simplicity is the utmost form of elegance. This perfume would suit many occasions, it's a daily versatile choice. Clean rose musk

I have a few loud roses in my collection (Initio Atomic Rose, Creed's Carmina) but this is a contrast. The sillage is quite low on my skin (others say it's moderate), and longevity is also 1-2 hours although some people get 4-6 hours. I like spraying this on my clothes instead and smelling like fresh linen and roses. I think I'll also wear this to my church wedding.

Summer Love

In my search for Ylang in Gold, I stumbled upon Pure Extrême in the perfume shop and knew right away that this perfume was coming home with me.
The sales assistant also noticed my great joy, as I have been looking for a summer scent that truly blows me away.

The reason I adore this perfume so much is also closely tied to my first love, Carmen Electra 2007 by LR. Back then, I only had a sample, and by the time I could afford it, the perfume was no longer on the market.
However, Pure Extrême only reminds me of that, as the scent is much fresher, rounder, and more elegant than the LR fragrance.

With some floral perfumes, the flowers are too prominent and take away the freshness. That is not the case here; the selection of flowers promises to maintain the freshness and lightness. The pleasant sweetness and freshness come through beautifully on my skin.

Definitely a daily scent for summer and spring, also my favorite for the next summer vacation.
And very suitable for a summer wedding, whether as an elegant bride or as a guest.
However, for an evening out in summer, I would reach for Ylang in Gold.

I can only partially understand the comparison with Chloé; Chloé has more of a fresh laundry vibe and feels more floral.
Both have their own character.

Flowers & Diamonds

I spray Pure extrême on my wrist…
Whoa? Suddenly, I find myself in a chic and perfectly maintained garden filled with white flowers in the background and a huge bush of roses right in front of my nose. You can still see the morning dew on the petals, what a dream!
I look up and the sky is not a sky but a huge crystal-clear diamond whose end I cannot see. Lowering my gaze again, I notice that the rose bush has suddenly become much smaller. However, the confusion does not prevent me from enjoying the time in the most exquisite garden with the fine white flowers that I still have left.

This might sound a bit out there, but that’s exactly how I perceive the fragrance. At first, you immediately notice the prominent rose but also white flowers (which I unfortunately cannot distinguish). The rose doesn’t smell particularly powdery or heavy; it smells more like cold rose water. The scent is generally very light, crystalline, diamond-like transparent, and very pleasantly floral without being overwhelming. The lovely rose water rose, however, mostly bids farewell after an hour; nonetheless, my wrist still smells of morning dew flowers.
I cannot detect musk or amber, everything is beautifully blended.

Does the fragrance knock you out? No.
Is it incredibly special? Maybe not. The scent itself might not be (although I find it so beautiful and it will definitely join my collection when it gets warmer), but the longevity is really surprisingly good with 9 hours for this scent profile. The sillage is not room-filling but very nice and pleasant; I would say about a 3/4 arm's length.
I can imagine Pure extrême on younger women but also on older women, or even on a bride - simply so elegant and effortlessly chic.

I have read that many people think my Chloé edp is very similar. I sprayed it in the drugstore and do see a resemblance; at least they are in the same fragrance family but still different. Pure extrême just smells “more real” and of higher quality and is indeed a bit different, making it my definite favorite.
