Ludens Cough Drop

I’m a sucker for cherry perfume, so jumped when I saw this one.
If you remember back in the old days they had this cough drop called Ludens. It was a small red disc and we ate them more as candy and not so much as a cough drop. They had no medicine in them, so basically it really was just candy. Well, this perfume is exactly that in my opinion. I’ve read that some people think it smells like cherry Coke, but I don’t get the Coke note.
It’s just pure candied cherry to me and I love it for its simplicity.

Fragrance that goes the "Gutsel" way!

I came across this candy cracker in a roundabout way. Through my niece, who was in the USA about 4 years ago. There was one in her own store in San Francisco. She wanted to make me happy with it, as she knows that I collect perfumes. She said that these stores were similar to our Yves Rocher branches.
Well, the fragrance was almost forgotten until I wanted to get a new bottle of shampoo from the bathroom cupboard, but couldn't find it straight away. Search... search... must be there. I did find the shampoo, but I also found this bottle. Which now gets its "commi".
It's not really my cup of tea, but it's well made for lovers of "Gutsel" fragrances.
There are fruity black cherries next to mandarins. It is also adorned with a few flowers: gardenia and freesia form a floral duet. And lots of vanilla, sugared, but I can't sniff out where the special "candy note" comes from. The aftertaste is strikingly reminiscent of English fruit drops, which I like to lick from time to time, but are clearly too "gourmand" for me as a perfume. Is this a "typically American" fragrance? With all the fragrances in my collection, I haven't yet come across this particular aroma. I also think that fragrances of this kind are rare here and are an exception. I like the cherry and the flowery mandarins, but the "Zuckerl" less....
