Powdery musk, fruity musk and musk again.
While Rose Muskissime is a flowery musk, this one is a great fruity musk and it announces its intentions from the beginning with peach/raspberry note. And even though there are flowery streakes here and there, for me the fruity musk stays true to itself all the way.
Musks are one of my favorites and I like watching them combine with so many other notes.
M. Micaleff uses good quality materials and this is reflected in the full body of this perfume.

A fragrance to play hide and seek with
I recently acquired a bottle of Mon Parfum and the seller sent a vial of Royal Muska as a complimentary gift. Of course one brand new bottle of Mon Parfum should satisfy me, but you know that vials have the power to increase one’s collection and immediately decrease one’s bank account balance. So I ordered a full bottle of Royal Muska the same day I tried it. And what can I say about it? I can say that on my skin it is musk from top to bottom, with a tiny touch of ylang-ylang and woods. I didn’t get the peach, or the raspberry. The rose listed was also absent. But the precious (really precious!) woods combined with the ylang-ylang and the musk almost drove me crazy. I know that this baby is nothing new under the sun, but at the same time the composition is so balanced, so beautiful that you just can’t resist it. It is simple and yet very sophisticated. It is clean, soft, clear and very comforting. And how about the hide and seek thing? Well, that’s how this fragrance plays with you, even under the hottest and most humid weather. No matter how much I spray it on, Royal Muska only will show up when it wants to, making me get whiffs here and there, randomly. And believe me: this only makes me love it even more.

Feminine musk
this perfume is one of the best feminine musk out there. It has animals facets, floral facets, it's clean, fruity, flowery. Despite of the notes, I smell something like ylang ylang in this perfume. I find it very sensual and at the same time elegant enough to be pulled off in any setting, maybe not ideal for the office due to its sensuality. I see it very well on a bride and thus I've reviewed it in my video on wedding appropriate fragrances that I am linking here below.

A Little Story About Gloves.
Can it be that a fragrance can bring a tear or two to the eye?
Maybe it's my age, maybe it's the dreary weather that feels more like autumn or early spring than winter, maybe it's my incurable sentimental nature, but Royal Muska has taken me on a journey back in time today... to people who are no longer here, to places that exist only in my memories and no longer in those of many others.
And again, I must realize how important our childhood memories are, how wonderful it is that I have some at all.
My grandma, born in 1905, lived in a rather small apartment, but it was like something from another world, especially since the uninspired and uniform communism prevailed all around, quality was a forgotten and insignificant word back then.
My grandma's apartment was completely furnished with pieces she had custom-made just before the war, all of course from heavy solid wood and very much in the style of the 30s, along with many items from the 20s and even earlier years, not to forget the numerous old sepia photos with elegant women in elaborate hairstyles, long dresses, wide collars, and dreamy gazes...
My grandma was very elegant. And thanks to her, I still retain many interesting and unique scent memories, scent experiences, and scent discoveries, firmly embedded in my memory along with the beautiful ambiance of her apartment, and over the years I have come to appreciate them more and more.
Finally, I come to the point. Because thanks to Royal Muska, I have remembered something that is indispensable to my grandma: her fine cream-colored gloves, made of the finest thin leather. They were a bit worn, but they were a synonym for pronounced elegance. My grandma wore them in the summer with light dresses, but especially when she went to the big old church.
Yes, what else should I write about the scent progression when for me, Royal Muska simply represents my grandma, her elegance, her distance, and those beautiful gloves, along with her eternal dissatisfaction and unhappiness, as her mother died giving birth to the 10th child when she was 12, and suddenly she had to move from Germany to Poland, to her father's family, without knowing the language or the people...
Nevertheless, she was my grandma, not with a simple character but with so many exciting stories that I always found in her apartment, furniture, photos, and... cream-colored, ultra-thin leather gloves.
One thing I want to clarify. The fragrance is not old-fashioned, stale, or grandma-like. No. But I find it has that touch of elegance that is hardly found today, in times of comfortable sneakers and sports suits worn more and more often on the streets. In that sense, a rarity :)
Sillage and longevity of Royal Muska are average. But for this piece of memory that almost brings me to tears, I would love to wear the fragrance.... for certain elegant occasions, just as my grandma wore her gloves in the past.

Unmodern Musk
With musk, it's a bit of a mixed bag. As a finisher and bed-preparer in the base, it usually hits the mark. However, as the main actor, its reliability is highly variable, and the range of its effects is enormous: sometimes it’s soapy-clean, sometimes fluffy-powdery, sometimes oily-sweet, sometimes sensual-soft, sometimes animalistic-strong, and sometimes dusty-dull.

Micallef's Royal Muská opens up a new musk dimension for me: lady-like-elegant. TOO lady-like-elegant, to be honest. It has a very classic, unmodern musty note, which is too old-fashioned for my nose. However, its approaches are not that bad: the musk is buttery soft, almost a bit oily, very intense, with fine nuances that sometimes lean towards fruity, sometimes towards soapy, overall rather clean, but still with a very sensual facet. Deep and dense, yet somehow bright and bell-clear. A distinct floral note is perceptible, without the musk character being lost. The woods are very light and soft, everything is super rounded, without any edges or corners. This supports its elegant and feminine effect.

Royal Muská is there immediately; there is no development, it’s an extremely linear perfume. The sillage is literally breathtaking - despite its actually elegant soft musk character, it projects quite well. The longevity is accordingly.

So, all of this is basically "so far so good." But there is this old-fashioned note that I just can't warm up to. Perhaps the selected musk is responsible for this, perhaps the flowers contribute to this "retro" character, or maybe it’s the combination of both. One thing is for sure: this musk in a tension field of clean-soapy, elegant-floral, rich-oily, and very, very ladylike is simply too classic for me. Chic in a way, and distant. Otherwise, I usually know musk to be more approachable.

Very clean, slightly musky scent - smells like a woman out of the shower (the "your skin, but better" profile). Performance is poor though.

Delicate floral fruits gently embrace the skin, wrapped in a soft wool sweater (elegant restraint in musk).

A very delicate, light fairy scent. Like a brief moment of happiness that quickly fades away. I wish I could have it with me longer.

The most wonderful musk scent, it’s airy, soft, and has received many compliments so far. A multifaceted composition.

Ideal for musk fans! The scent is both fresh-woody and powdery, which is really great. Clean and suitable for everyday use! Very good!
