If you like Ambre Narguile or L by Lolita Lempicka..

Reminds me alot of Ambre Narguile in the top notes. No matter if it's not all listed I find apples, vanilla, amber and cinnamon. At one point I experience it as a less balanced Ambre Narguile with added rum. The rum lifts the composition somewhat by adding an alcoholic edge, as if you had left the Narguile to ferment/brew a little. But I still prefer Narguile at this stage.
Later it has gone from Ambre Narguile into L by Lolita Lempicka, and I start to wonder why i did not find L here sooner. The mysterious apple stays all through the drydown which ends up warmly as L with yeah, added apple.
On second try I find the L notes alot sooner, but then again now I know they're there ;)
Beautiful, and if I hadn't found Narguile first and/or been a little tired of L, this would be perfect!

Boozy Vanilla Goodness

To me, this is everything Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille should have been. This is smoother and boozier, plus SDV performs about as poor as a fragrance can possibly get and is grossly expensive. Performance here is passable.

Strongly boozy vanilla with a gentle splash of citrus on top and the faintest hint of creamy-yet-powdery sandalwood beneath, all elevated by an airy jasmine. The jasmine blooms over time and, for better or worse, eventually becomes the dominant accord deep in the drydown. I like jasmine, but I'm not sure how I feel about it taking over everything else over time because the boozy vanilla is what I came for. Oh well. Moderate-soft projection for 2-3hr, longevity 5-6hr.

Flawless, but not mindblowing

This is a warm, cozy vanilla with lots of booze and a powdery texture. A touch of citrus lifts the fragrance and keeps it from being too heavy. Even though this is more of a fall/winter scent, I still found it pleasant and not cloying when I first tried it in the summer.

The vanilla and citrus blend in this reminds me a little bit of Xerjoff Lira and all its relatives, but otherwise they're not that close. Note Vanillée has rum and cognac instead of the cinnamon and Christmas spices you find in those fragrance. I also see a resemblance to Cologne of the Missions for the woodsy, powdery texture, but Note Vanillée is much better, deeper and more refined. On a certain other site people voted this as similar to Jessica Simpson Fancy, which I never would have thought of, but I can kind of see where the votes are coming from. There is something like caramel in this, too.

It's a beautiful scent that I like a lot, but don't love or desire. There is not a single thing about it that I dislike, but it misses the special spark that makes me fall in love. Maybe because it doesn't really stand out from other vanillas.
I still highly recommend to try it, especially if you like boozy, citrus and powdery notes in your vanillas.

A Deep Love ...

Vanilla Note

Citrus fruits and mandarin,
ignite the deep love.
Jasmine blends with the floral notes,
so good it’s almost forbidden.
Amber, cognac, and rum,
that already requires some mum.
Sandalwood and vanilla,
yes, that is my will.
So beautifully noble and warm,
it has a lot of charm.
The bottle is a masterpiece,
and worth every cent more.
The tipsy vanilla lasts more than 10 hours,
but the scent is not gone yet.
A hint of the fragrance, so delicate and fine,
yes, that’s how it should be.
A love for eternal times,
it will always bring me joy.

There are already so many beautiful comments, where pretty much everything
has been said, but with this wonderful scent, which snuck into my
fragrance heart in seconds, I just had to write something.
It’s truly sad that the scent is no longer produced.
But I have hope that this fragrance might come back
in an extra collection; it would certainly make me very happy and
I think there are many who would be happy with me. ;-)

One swallow does not make a summer...

...one vanilla pod does not make a note of vanilla.

But many vanilla pods, and not alone, that’s for sure! The opening is spicy, citrusy, and sweet. Sweet citrus fruits, fully ripe, with dark honey and dark spices!

But in the next moment, a light woody note blends into the scene, as a harbinger of what awaits me if I just show a little patience. Patience, me, an Aries. Because that is my absolute strength! ;-)

But I practice patience and wait. And I am rewarded: it becomes slightly floral, especially the sillage carries flowers underpinned with honey and wood into the room. Hmmm, that is delicious!

Close to the skin, the sweetness is significantly less pronounced than in the sillage.

And then they come: the concentrated power of a hhmmmmmy vanilla, steeped in honey and rum. The amber adds a bit of spice - just enough to underscore this wonderful vanilla-rum scent. Cognac and sandalwood make the whole composition soft and cozy.

I love Micallef fragrances, so it’s no surprise that this Micallef appeals to me as well. The right mix of sweet - spicy - oriental - floral results in a beautiful floriental, as spicy as Hiver, but less creamy.

I am sure that with Micallef fragrances of the gourmand kind, only subtle nuances will sway the decision to purchase and correspond to individual taste.

The quality is very high, the only thing to criticize about these - after all, quite pricey - fragrances is the longevity. Although in this case it is quite good, because I must admit that I don’t want this scent to last longer than 6 - 8 hours, as I would like to smell something else afterwards, less sweet and fresher. Perhaps a lovely rose scent?! ;-))
