Ginger Shot with Slight Tipping Potential
Molinard is a perfume house that, in my opinion, completely flies under the radar. This may be partly because they hardly collaborate with influencers or actively draw attention to the brand. On the other hand, Molinard is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare in perfumeries, and what you don't see, you logically can't perceive or discover. It should also be mentioned that the release policy at Molinard has been more of a trickle than a real flow lately, and there are no real "blockbusters" to be found.
However, the fragrances are thoroughly solid and the prices are still absolutely down-to-earth. For example, with the Collection Matières: Les Éléments from 2015, the series with the violet bottles. Four years later, the next batch came with the Collection Matières: La Fraîcheur, featuring the correspondingly fresher scents with violet accents in the bottle. From this series comes Gingembre, which, as the name suggests, focuses on ginger.
However, it is not a pure ginger scent, but a creation enriched with other elements that fit the theme of freshness and ginger, such as citrus notes, verbena, or bright woody nuances, and of course vetiver. Accordingly, it radiates a relatively natural sharpness with a touch of freshness and minimal acidity, which is particularly welcome on hotter days.
I searched in vain for the amber at the end, but I didn't necessarily miss it.
On the other hand, I noticed the following. I purchased my fragrance cheaply on sale at a perfume chain (not the turquoise ones) wrapped up. There, the tester already showed slight signs of "tipping," meaning a very faint Maggi note. At home, I unfortunately noticed that my packaged Gingembre has the same problem, albeit only to a slight extent. A return or refund action was not proportionate to me due to the low price and the great distance, especially since the flaw is relatively minor and the Gingembre is usable. I’m probably not the only one who has had this experience; there may be a batch issue (93301B).
Nevertheless, among the ginger-freshies, it is certainly one of the most appealing!
