Tropical floral
Growing on bushes along the lanai outside my vacation room were hundreds of white tiare flowers. Tiare is a type of gardenia plant that grows in the Pacific islands, native to Polynesia. Every day I would tiptoe out along the stone path and stick my face into these bushes and in those moments I truly knew heaven.

Montale Intense Tiare was my selection for the third day I spent in Hawaii. My friend balked at how strong and sweet the smell was after I had just put it on, almost like grape juice. "You're going to get chased by insects all day!" she warned. Luckily that never happened even though we spent a large part of the day in a tropical botanical garden.

I'm not sure how much was the perfume and how much was my surrounding environment but all day I was surrounded by the sweet almost honey like scent of tiare, coconut, ylang ylang and jasmine. It was gorgeous, made me think if Thierry Mugler's Alien went on vacation and traded her edgy city slicker garb for a sarong and sunglasses. This was my favorite of the three sample vials I had packed for my trip. Quite lush and elegant. Two thumbs up.

An aroma or a perfume? It's lovely in both cases.
Edited two weeks after review below: I could not stop thinking about this scent and ordered a bottle.
Simply something I must have in my collection. It's so cheerful and loveable! I just think it's very important to use this very - and I mean VERY - light handed. Too many sprays may kill the beauty of this perfume. I even can imagine it may be best to mix one spray with an unscented bodylotion or body-oil and to devide that over ones body. I'm gonna try that tomorow.
I used two tiny sprays just now, one on each side of my neck and it is nuclear, so one bottle will last for ages!
But oh, it's lovely!
---
Sampled this on my search for summer fragrances. Before I asked for a sample, I let my boyfriend smell it and I'd never seen him react so positively.
Unfortunately we don't share my love for- and interest in perfumes. (he always says he doesn't care for perfumes because he likes the way I smell whithout any perfume which is why he does not really care about what I'll wear and, though I could take that as a compliment, it sometimes is very frustrating when I want an opinion :-))
Anyhow, I had never thought he would like this scent because he always claims not to like sweet perfumes...When I showed him my surprise concerning his likes for this....eh...well...rather sweet scent, he said that he meant by that 'not liking perfumes that are too overwhelming'. I will never understand how he perceives fragrances, lol :-). Then he continued to explain: " Well there is nothing sharp or edgy about this scent, that's why I like it".
I guess that what he likes are not perfumes, but maybe certain aroma's
Because I love this scent, but I'm not sure I'd call this 'a perfume'.
In my opinion this falls into the category of 'aroma's'. It is a scent for reminiscing and, in this case, reminiscing about summer-vacations and such.
In that perspective I love this!!
It's very 'Tiare' indeed, I don't get too much coconut (thank god) or sunscreen vibes. Nor do I smell anything synthetic like some. It's a scent that is very true to nature in my opinion, true to the Tiare flower.
Sillage and longevity are outstanding which means it is best not to overspray.
So I will use my sample a bit more this week to find out if I like it enough to buy a full bottle or if I will hunt down a lotion that smells of Tiare (Therme had a bodycream in the past that was called 'Lomi Lomi' (can't find it anywhere anymore) and that smelled quite much like this (and had quite good sillage as well!), maybe I should search for that online.

Edit: It's a few hours later and..OMG I really LOVE this! The drydown is so soft and feminine! Still very 'tiare', but acting more like a perfume. I now feel it is a perfume, now that it is more subtle; I also suddenly remember that the Therme Bodycream smelled lovely indeed, but that I got an allergic reaction when using it...

Surf City, Here I Come...
This fragrance took me right back to San Diego, where I lived years ago, at the beach. It starts with a sort of over ripe fruity note, even though it lists Tiare as the top note. I was not very impressed, but decided to give it an all day wearing, as to write a review, it needs time to get the whole fragrance picture.
The next stage, after about an hour), was a plasticky, slightly floral vibe. Then the suntan oil presented itself! This was the scent of the beach, where everyone gathered with their boards to catch some waves. I wouldn't have minded that so much, but that slightly over ripe fruit note kept drifting in and out, and was very off putting. In it's defence, the fragrance does have good longevity, and isn't shy to show it's stuff, but I think for the price, it is definitely not worth the price tag! i was expecting a distinct, and prominent tiare flower, but, instead got coconut and a strange plastic fruit smell. I suppose I have been spoiled by my other lovely florals). This is the second Montale I have tried, and will purchase some other samples, as this house has a wide range of choices. Unfortunately, this wave just wasn't worth catching!

Holiday classic
Intense Tiaré is just that: An extremely loud, intense, everlasting tiare bomb. In my opinion this is one of the classics and reference scents when it comes to tropical florals. It smells like a beach holiday in a bottle!

Heaps and heaps of tiare, lots of ylang-ylang and a touch of freshly blooming jasmine make it smell like a traditional body oil extracted from flowers. If you remember the monoi products by Yves Rocher, this is very similar, but an obvious upgrade in quality. Maybe it's the subtle jasmine and rose that make it more sophisticated. Vanilla and coconut add some warmth to it, so the oily aspect of the scent doesn't become too sharp and overwhelming. As expected, they become stronger and stronger in the drydown.
Otherwise, this is a relatively simple and linear scent without surprises. If you want tiare, that's what you get, if you want something more complex with a little extra, look elsewhere.

I think this is a well-made and beautiful scent, but I also strongly feel that it wouldn't suit me. Almost like I'm too pale to smell that sun-kissed, even though I really don't believe in assigning fragrance by hair, skin or eye color. Guess I just like lighter forms of beachy scents for myself. Try it for yourself and see if you can handle it!

So awful! I literally got sick.
As the title says. It caused some sort of allergic reaction or sensory overload. First spray right off the bat, I didn’t care for the smell of it. It was instantly off putting, and smelled heavy to the floral. I guess it somewhat smelled like tiare, but mostly it reminded me of vintage “old lady” floral fragrances. It was strong, heavy, and overwhelming. Within a half hour, I had a horrible headache, ended up feeling nauseous and flushed, and lightheaded. I washed my skin and changed my clothes. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it all off after washing my skin so the fragrance and reaction lasted for several hours. I’m not sure what ingredient or chemical is in it that may have caused a physical reaction. I know for me. Synthetic chemicals sometimes cause the reaction. Just be mindful if you have fragrance sensitivity.

Tropical island, picture perfect beach, turquoise water, glowy, moisturized skin, nibbling on a fresh coconut under a palm tree. Very tiare

Allergic reaction/sensory reactions. Very strong, heavy floral, smells like old women floral and overpowering.

It would be a trivial sweet floral without the right amount of powderiness to make it interesting (and I usually don't like powdery scents).

"Alalalalong..." *sing*... I'm licking coconut ice cream on the beach, a Tiare flower in my hair, the warm wind carries the scent of Ylang-sunscreen.

A synthetic South Sea feeling scent with Tiare flowers and coconut milk. A bit of sunscreen vibe - quite nice.

I'm currently in my stingy phase: as beautiful as I find it with its Aloha vibe, the balcony version of Yves R does the trick just as well!

Tropical scent dream with a lot of Tiare, which comes across very intensely.
Along with creamy coconut milk and vanilla.
Sweet, but not too sweet.

Underrated scent! Creamy summery Tiaré, similar to "Sabbia Bianca": opulent evening flowers, heavy-exotic-fine. Only for ladies in the evening!
