Path To The Beach
My grandparents like to rent a beach house on Saint George Island in the Gulf of Mexico every spring break, and every year in middle school they rented a house that was a two minute walk to the beach through the woods. This doesn't smell like the beach itself but it does smell like that walk to the beach. It is a very powdery sandalwood, and while the name is misleading it isn't bad at all.

No beach in sight!
I don't know what kind of beach this is supposed to evoke. It's not marine or aquatic, it doesn't smell like tropical fruits or flowers, warm skin, sunscreen, salt or anything else found on the beach.

Instead, this is a scratchy sandalwood scent! Unfortunately, it's not the beautiful milky or warm kind of sandalwood, but the green-ish kind that smells weirdly sour and reminds some people of dill pickles. I don't always have this problem, but with this fragrance, I unfortunately get it. Surely others perceive this kind of scent differently, otherwise it wouldn't be so popular.

The other notes don't stand out that much to me. Cardamom is definitely noticeable, and with the notes list, I can also identify the suede note. Maybe some citrus if you're really looking for it. But they are all just support acts for the sandalwood.
It mellows out and smells a little more woodsy-smooth and less sour in the drydown, but all in all I'm not a fan.

From the information I found online, this seems to be a reissue of Pacifica's older scent Neon Moon. In my opinion they should have kept the name. Not that it's particularly evocative of neon colors either, but it's just so absurd to my nose to call this Beach Day. Maybe this is about a special beach by the pickle factory?

Not a classic beachy scent, but more like a bonfire on the beach after swimming all day. Great scent, but longevity is crap.
