Sahara desert
It is not so hard to guess that this was inspired by the Sahara with its sand dunes and hot desert wind. Not just the name, but also the scent profile are pretty obvious clues. Prin isn't the first one to come with such a concept, after all. Thanks to Andy Tauer most of us already have an idea of what this smells like.

Sahar opens with a really nice amber. A bit leathery but not wildly animalic. As you would expect from something with a Sahara desert theme, it has a dry-spicy feel to it. Frankincense, coriander and a dried fruit note, among others, are clearly perceivable. Prin has his own way of putting together all these notes, though. There is a specific woody-earthy dryness in the drydown that can be found in several of his perfumes.

So the concept may not be the most innovative. It is the execution that stands out here. This dry-spicy Sahara feel is there quite obviously, while the perfume wears light and easy - won't feel out of place in any casual setting.

In the Heat Enchantment of the Desert
You step barefoot out of the tent onto the sand, it’s still almost dark and quite cool. Just before sunrise, all the colors are still pale and subdued, but it smells intensely of the dark wool mats and furs of the tent, of the remnants of the wood fire from last night, where you watched the wonderful starry sky while it slowly turned, and of the steaming dark bitter-spicy mint tea that is already waiting for you. Somewhere, the camels you arrived on yesterday afternoon stir quietly.
You climb up the dune to be on top in time for sunrise, and the steep ascent already makes you warm, even though the air around you is still cool. Now you stand at the top of the ridge and look east…
And suddenly this explosion of color! With the sun, everything changes, all the colors are there, the sand is pink, ochre, purple, yellow, brown… and within a few minutes it becomes warm and then really hot under your feet. The sun rises quickly and becomes blindingly bright. Immediately, the heat reaches your skin, dry, spicy, hot, almost glowing. The hot sand, which a fine wind blows against your skin, is soft and, despite the heat, feels like a caressing touch. The tents with the fire pit in the middle look tiny from up here, but the wind carries a hint of the rose incense that someone has lit below, up to you. Here you are very close to the sky and the sun, also to the relentless heat and brightness that evaporate everything until only the essence remains. Mighty yet so tender that you stay…
-----
“Sahar/ سحر” means dawn, but also enchantment or magic, the corresponding verb sahara means “to enchant.” This scent beams me directly into the dunes of the Moroccan Sahara. The scent progression is not so hot from the very beginning for me, but rather describes the transition from the scents of the night through dawn into the truly hot sun of the day. The complex progression is not easy to analyze, and I cannot identify all the components individually.
At first, I sense something animalistic (perhaps from cumin?) together with cedarwood, smoke, and then a hint of mint. After that come the other spices and resins: truly warm, dry-dusty cinnamon, wonderful galbanum, a touch of clove, nutmeg. Later on, everything becomes slightly sweeter and above all increasingly drier, dustier, hotter. I cannot perceive dates (which is fine by me), they probably contribute to the very delicate sweetness. Then soft frankincense and saffron. In the end, together with the finely powdered amber base, the cedarwood returns, warm-earthy patchouli adds depth, and birch tar occasionally reminds of the charcoal from the beginning. As if warm wind blows over hot embers, keeping everything flickering alive, individual notes flicker or waft by again and again.
Prin-Desert is completely different from Tauer-Desert… A more accessible yet never arbitrary, wonderfully crafted, and typically complex Prin. Great!

With thanks to the dear Gandix!

Burning Dunes, Cold Wind
In my last order from Malaga, I requested samples of fragrances from Prin Lomros. And anyway, this one was among those I absolutely wanted to try. So now I get to dive into the depths of this scent with you.

At the beginning, the cedar burns. It is glowing wood that flows into my nose as if I were laying fresh shavings on the coals, underpinned by a potpourri of spices and very authentically hot. It is glaringly bright in this composition, and the air feels dusty and dry.
Slowly, the fire and the burning in the eyes subside. The scent becomes more balsamic, almost touchable.
The oppressive spice of cumin settles on me. A feeling of dry earth, hot sand, and midsummer emerges.
And as resins slowly reveal themselves and assert their presence, nutmeg shimmers in delicate flakes. And there is the cedar from the beginning again, now encased in amber and surrounded by cinnamon. The wind blows cooler through the emptiness that this scent so wonderfully fills.
More and more, livelier components also take part in the game. Be it dry, sweet fruits or refreshing notes of mint, it feels harmonious and balanced.

Poetically, all notes are harmoniously and coherently composed, and in my opinion, we have here a showcase oriental that does not drift into sweetness or rosy territory but brings a profound and worthy character that will definitely find a place with me.

Longing for Silence

The feeling of silence,
can bring many into a
sleeping trance
and anyone who has ever stepped into a desert, this
earth, knows
what silence can mean and
how it can affect.
So powerful, yet somehow gentle
Delicate. Yet driving.
The feeling of warm sand,
underfoot, brings a certain
well-being, rising in the warmed head.
Listening to the wind
and drawing in the induced nuances.
Feeling the sun on the face
and letting oneself be caressed by
the warmth.

This is Sahar. This is the longing for silence.
Silence of the desert.
An absolutely successful composition,
if one focuses on the theme of desert and perfume.
A beautiful structure of soft, creamy incense that
gracefully settles into warm sand and makes itself comfortable there for a long time. A breeze of gentle spices always wafts around.
Oasis butterflies, darkly fluttering with the desert wind.
In the background, a gently throbbing heart of jasmine & patchouli.
Enclosed with a warm layer of cinnamon and date.
Sandy thoughts scattered on warm earth.
Tar sinks in, making everything appear a bit grayer.

Meanwhile, the sun is already setting, bathing the desert in a warm red and orange. Longevity and sillage are convincing. Warm and delicate, it breathes long on my skin. More suitable for women than for men, in my opinion. But that doesn’t mean the male part cannot
feel comfortable here. That is just my objective feeling.

Prissana truly has some treasures. Some I didn’t like as much,
but this one strikes me right in the heart.

Opens with an opulent amber and dries into a woody spicy slightly floral fragrance with an amber base.
Similar in concept to laddm

You can guess it was made by Prin. More in style of Naruemit than Tauer's L'air du Desert Marocain. Rich, resinous and a bit green/sweet.
