Very bright, vivid citrus - a juicier, more orange, less yellow, version of Sicily
Personal: 8/10 – I enjoy it, though I wouldn't reach for it often. Very juicy orange.
Mass appeal: 9/10 – Juicy citrus freshies are universally pleasant. Spice notes may not appeal.
Performance: 6.5/10 – Solid for a citrus freshie but nothing impressive.
Value: 6.5/10 - Reasonable Phlur pricing for something that's better than 'meh'. It has its place.
Uniqueness: 7/10 – Sweet citrus DNA isn't groundbreaking, but tangerine is an unappreciated note.
SCORE: 74/100
Full bottle buy? YES, fun, juicy, and just enough depth to justify. It's not redundant with others.
Blind buy? YES, it’s sweet, juicy, realistic tangerine with some supporting notes.
Recommend? YES, if you want a great summer daily driver that's not too serious.
Date night? YES, casual dates in the sun only. More playful than seductive.
Office safe? YES, citrus and spice makes it professional and friendly. Easy to wear and tolerate.
Pros: Very bright, juicy, realistic tangerine with just enough spice to keep it from being boring.
Cons: Linear, forgettable after the opening, and not worth raving about.
This is what Solar Power should've been. It focuses less on florals supporting citrus, and instead lets the citrus speak for itself. And man, that citrus talks. It opens with the bright burst of orange citrus that you'd expect, and as it dries, it mellows into a bit of a rich, citrusy display of ginger and pepper. Florals exist, but they aren't the main character, and that's okay.
It's actually really respectable for its juicy overtones, though it's otherwise kind of boring.
