not your baby, sure, but it might be mine!

Strangely, I feel like I matured backwards. Not in a sad way, but in a way where I'm able to enjoy the things I once deemed "immature" (as a 17 year old lol). A teenage me might've scoffed at the chunky packaging, but now I like it. The teenage me also went gaga over Jo Malone's Mimosa and Cardamom, so any cardamom scent/flavor has a comforting effect on me. Not Your Baby, to me, is a return to my younger self. It's as if I'm "healing my inner child", or making a return to my hipster teens, this time kinder.

Playful cardamom, but beware the violet!

Personal: 7/10 - It's fun, playful, and powdery. I enjoy it, though I don't find it particularly enthralling.
Mass appeal: 8/10 – Sweet, powdery, spicy, fun fragrances are pretty safe, but the milkiness may be divisive.
Performance: 6/10 - Its performance is fine, but it's still a light fragrance, despite warm notes.
Value: 6.5/10 - Phlur's pricing is reasonable for semi-niche, but the DNA isn't worth it to me.
Uniqueness: 7.5/10 - Cardamom and sweetness isn't unique, but this violet forward angle is. It's still firmly in mainstream leaning territory, but it has personality and airiness despite warm notes.
SCORE: 70/100

Full bottle buy? NO, fun, but lacks depth or masterful blending.
Blind buy? YES, it's safe, but there's cardamom. Only safe you like Le Male le Parfum.
Recommend? YES, if you want something playful, light, and still spicy.
Date night? YES, casual, fun, and a little quirky.
Office safe? YES, light, approachable, and it won't offend anyone. But not everyone will love it.

Pros: Playful, girly, gourmand with a twist. It's approachable and fairly easy to wear.
Cons: The spiciness certainly isn't for everyone. Not super interesting. Violet isn't universally liked.

Not Your Baby gives off the baby powdery violet, spicy cardamom, and sweet YELLOW floral profile in the best way possible. It's really solid, and offers a lot of what Le Male le Parfum offers, but in a more unisex, and softer, form of delivery. It's got a creaminess that LMLP lacks that I associate more with a chai tea than a perfume. This doesn't quite fall into the gourmand territory, but it's close enough.

Playful, sweet, a little spicy, and easy to wear. Not something to overlook, but not a must have.

Subtle Temptation

While I am not a fan of Phlur's new makeover, I do enjoy some of their new creations. The hype surrounding Missing Person has me perplexed. I am practically nose blind to it, so for me it's more like Missing Perfume. I personally feel if there is a fragrance on this line that deserves any attention at all it's Not Your Baby. I'm always a sucker for a powdery vanilla. The touch of violet provides a velvety feel and the sandalwood gives depth with earthy undertones I can appreciate. I will never argue with tonka considering it is best paired with vanilla. Predictable, but inarguably amazing. Not Your Baby is a scent that is very easy to bathe in and a quick compliment getter. A subtle temptation that doesn't go unnoticed. Suitable for any season, temperature or climate.

Pleasant but Boring

Floral, powdery, clean. A slight hint of cardamom, barely noticeable, to warm it all up. Actually nice, but not very interesting or memorable. Classic, basic, somewhat retro in an innocent way. I can't complain, but I wouldn't buy a whole bottle.
