Unexpected frontrunner
When I bought my discovery set from Phlur, I immediately overlooked Lost Cause in favour of Somebody Wood and Missing Person. I then promptly forgot about my tester for about two years. When I went to try it on again, I was very pleasantly surprised.

Typically, I swear up and down that I hate white florals in perfume, especially jasmine. But in Lost Cause, it just works. It's quietly fresh and clean, with a sweetness that rounds it out. No cleaning chemical harshness, or shampoo scent. I don't get much if any of the fruity notes. There's something of a masculine edge to it, which I really like. Moderate performance settles into light skin scent within an hour or so.

Of course, by the time I had come around to this perfume, it's been discontinued. So like two boats in the night, we shall leave each other after a brief and enjoyable meeting.

Sweet, musky greenness?? Interesting!
Personal: 8/10 - It's a light, airy, green musky fragrance. It's a bit sweet, but very nice.
Mass appeal: 7.5/10 – Light green musky florals are safe, though a touch bland and boring.
Performance: 5.5/10 – Very light. Sits close to the skin and fades faster than I’d like.
Value: 5.5/10 – Phlur pricing is fair but it doesn't 'wow' me to the degree necessary.
Uniqueness: 6.5/10 – Green musky florals aren’t new, but it's still nice and I enjoy its gentle sweetness.
SCORE: 66/100

Full bottle buy? YES, though thin and unremarkable, it smells like Axe Kilo - highschool flashbacks.
Blind buy? YES, it’s safe and inoffensive, but not at ALL a deep and complex scent.
Recommend? YES, if you want a breezy, clean summer skin scent that's a bit sweet and green.
Date night? YES, though it's light and lacking allure, it's clean and leans masculine.
Office safe? YES, perfectly professional and unobtrusive. I think it's great for the office.

Pros: It's not loud enough to really be intrusive. It's like a masculine take on the simple musk 'better than skin' scents.
Cons: Weak performance, somewhat generic DNA, and bit too bland for enthusiasts.

This is kind of like a Missing Person lite, in a more masculine light. It's a little sweet and green, but fruity and pleasant. Kind of like a musk forward fragrance for guys. It's really pleasant and agreeable but I don't have much to say about it. It's so simple that I'm having a hard time really figuring out what it is. Also, rhubarb is masked pretty nicely here and is less spicy and sour and more just 'fruity'. I like it.

It's really nice and pleasant. I enjoy it despite how little there is to say about it.

Review #64 in my fragrance journey – this fragrance I own as a decant

Somehow neutral floral/sweet/fresh
I realized after wearing this to bed a few nights that it reminds me of a shoe store I go to frequently - one of those sprawling not-quite-discount places where all the old folks shop.

It's a sweet and bold floral that's just adjacent to whatever was in all of the men's cologne that teenage boys liked to wear in the 90s - it's fresh like CK One but has more depth. I can't decide if the shoe store connection is from some kind of spray they use for dusting, carpet deodorizer, or if it's just that someone who works there wears this perfume (which is unlikely) - it's kind of a vague, pleasant neutral background/bedtime scent that I don't think I'd choose to wear out.

It appears that it's been discontinued by Phlur, and I'm on the fence about whether to go ahead and get a discounted bottle or just say oh well and move on to the next fresh thing.

Bright citrus opening that settles down into an almost haunting sweetness. Wish the longevity was better but this is a gorgeous scent.

Floral, check. Fresh, check. But it somehow connotes "cleaning product", and I can't un-smell that.

Axe Kilo but as a cologne, and in a nice way. I really enjoy its pleasant green, musky, sweet tones.

Reminds me of fragrances I loved in the early 2000's; very y2k A&F preppy girl. Fresh, fruity, floral, green.

It's a bit too masculine for me, but it's lovely, green, and refreshing. However, in classic Phlur fashion, it fades extremely quickly.

Clean and inoffensive. Very genderless to me, although I suppose it could be slightly masculine.

Boring men's shower gel scent, limited edition with weak sillage. A powdery vanilla gives it a unique touch, but for the price? No way.
