Stilettos
What was Mark Buxton thinking when he created Fabulous 2?
What a difference and transformation in statement and effect. While in the 1994 version - Dalissime he portrayed the innocent, young girl in a beach dress and flip-flops, with Fabulous 2 he has created quite the opposite. This lady predominantly wears black leather. She exudes a very self-assured impression and moves exclusively on stilettos. In public, she is very cultured and elegant. However, in the presence of enemies (without witnesses!), she can become very ruthless and vulgar. Admired by women, feared by men. Such a person is also called a vamp!
Dali Fabulous 2 is not a fragrance for innocent young women or girls. It is rather the opposite. It starts off in the top note with a very alcoholic scent. The smell of anise is very prominent at the beginning. A creamy absinthe liqueur describes it best. Very sharp and spicy, underlined with bitter-green cardamom and a delicate hint of pepper. Everything is kept very soft and creamy.
In the heart note, a dusty and dry lavender is added, which pairs with powdery thyme and the absinthe liqueur. The scent begins to become more robust and acquires a leathery aura, which is probably thanks to the violets. It becomes softer and increasingly warmer.
In the base note, Fabulous 2 gets its lustful and "dirty" touch. A bitter and dry vanilla note and an equally dry and beautiful patchouli blend into an extremely delicate leather accord. A spicy-slightly sweet and warm leather. Very alluring and sensual!
Conclusion
Mark Buxton designed this fragrance for the Fabulous Collection and gave it a completely different face than its predecessor "Dalissime". While Dalissime was still floral, fruity, and very sweet, Fabulous 2 is alcoholic, spicy, leathery, and very sexy-dirty. The scent of Fabulous 2 is like the little black dress in leather at a thrilling absinthe party. Passionate and unrestrained. Not vulgar or crude, Mr. Buxton has taken care of that. Even if just a little! Leather soaked in absinthe is already a statement.
By the way, Fabulous 2 is extremely unisex and can be worn very well by men. Due to its leathery-sweet aura, it is hardly distinguishable from a men's fragrance.
The sillage is in the medium range and the longevity is also moderate. It is hard to overapply, which from personal experience with absinthe does not always work. The... or rather all bottles in the series are in gold. For some, kitsch; for others, art. For me, by the way, art!
