Tender, powdery rice
Definitely the clearest rice scent/accord I've smelled! It's my favorite aspect of this scent. I found it really cool because it isn't the smell of cooked rice but rather of raw rice grains before you throw them in the rice cooker. There's a very mild hint of spice to the rice smell that gives it more heft.
Unfortunately, that fades away in less than an hour to a floral, powdery smell akin to baby powder. I don't regret getting the decant but I did have higher hopes for it. I live in the Philippines and my uncle owns and takes care of rice fields. I was hoping for an experience that's more earthen and gritty especially from the imagery and story written about Lom Hom Khao Hom. For me it felt more like a delicate, impressionist painting of a rice field than a landscape photograph.
