An Evening by the Campfire
Last night we made a fire in the clearing. It was cold. The wood from the forest was still a bit damp. It took a while for the fire to catch. With the rising night wind, the smoke surrounded us. Later, we wrapped potatoes with herbs in aluminum foil and tossed them into the embers. One person had brought a bottle of cheap bourbon. We sat there in silence, watching the fire slowly burn down. We were sitting in a brightly lit circle. Beyond this boundary, the world was black. From the front, the heat of the fire glowed on my face. And at the same time, the chill of the forest crawled over my back. We spent hours like this. When the fire had burned down and no one wanted to search for wood in the forest anymore, we made our way home through the dark woods. The stars twinkled above us through the canopy of leaves. I was full and warmed by the food and the alcohol. I buried my cold hands in the pockets of my leather jacket.
This morning, the only reminders of that wonderful evening are my boots crusted with old leaves and mud, and the scent of smoke and wood and thyme that has trapped itself in the leather jacket.

Attar al Ghutra is a true men's fragrance. Distinctive. Gritty, real smoke, but still warm from the fire. I find myself repeatedly smelling my arms. The scent is intriguing with a slightly fruity note that shines through. The fragrance does not have much development. You come home as you went out. There is nothing ambiguous here. This is masculine, clear self-confidence. This is not a scent for a suit or Goretex.

The bottle is made of square, white glass and, together with the also square, quite heavy metal cap, gives a rather high-quality impression. The whole thing is securely packed in a white, fairly large box with a magnetic closure. Surrounding it is another cardboard box, printed like the bottle. This is how Orientals are often packaged. The colors on the bottle and the box, pink and a strong flocked red, seem a bit playful and inappropriate for the distinctive scent (but in reality, not as bright as in the photo above). The box, on the other hand, shines with understatement. Unlike, for example, the boxes from Reyane Tradition, only one side is printed here. This surely corresponds more to European taste.
The overall rating speaks for itself.
A heartfelt thank you to RustCole, who let me have the fragrance, and especially to Irini, who first drew my attention to this amazing scent.

Nobility without "Blue Blood"
There are fragrances that you test, and immediately there’s a "wow" effect! From simply reading the fragrance pyramid and the comments, I do get some initial (internal) impressions, but SMELLING is something entirely different (see my blog....)
I have already experienced that fragrances from "Swiss Arabian" are usually very good through my own nose. However, "Attar Al Ghutra" is (for me personally) rated a few notches higher.
There is the intense rose, which is spiced and underlaid with a fresh citrus note. This gives me a beautiful "powdery" impression. Then there’s the smoky and fine aura that surrounds it, infused with just the right amount of delicate floral fruitiness. A part of the fragrance reminds me of fresh earth, forest floor, and grass. Another aspect has something almost "royal" about it, solely from the way the fragrance ingredients are composed. Nothing is too sweet or too scratchy; everything is very well distributed in the scent, "alive," as a perfume should be in my opinion. There’s no rigid progression according to any specific scheme, but rather it’s good for forever new olfactory surprises. Frankincense, woods, flowers, resins, nothing is fixed, everything "vibrates".
I have smelled significantly more expensive fragrances, all "noble" and very "fine," but some of them had no greater development. Something was missing... namely "liveliness." Like a perfectly crafted wax figure in Madame Tussaud's cabinet...
This "brand" and this perfume do not belong to the "royal" market stallions (in the upper price range and subjective "value," which again depends on... )
And yet it is a "royal" fragrance; it does not need to hide behind THOSE brands!!

Arabian Volkswagen
Yes, the good old Volkswagen. A car for everyone with a very good lifespan, versatility in features but never quite at home in the premium segment ... (I don't mean to sell anyone a car here ;) that's not my intention at all but ...)

Yes, the house Swiss Arabian reminds me a bit of this comparison, and if the Audis, BMWs, and Benzes of the Arab fragrance industry might be Amouage, Tom Ford, etc., then the house Swiss Arabian is definitely worth a look. Just like my first car at 18 when I went to the army, Swiss Arabian is one of my first brands that doesn't follow the mainstream fragrance trends, and I can say 3 purchases. 3 times very positively impressed.

About the Appearance

Attar al Ghutra comes in a very high-quality packaging to my office. The elegant packaging, which could have come from the pen of any Apple packaging designer, makes me curious.
Unboxing ... a colleague walks in WOW what is that, it must have cost 300€ right? I smile because I paid exactly 55€ for it, and many expensive niche fragrances that I now own, which cost multiples, do not come across as lovingly and well presented.
The bottle is well-crafted and visually appealing (well, the rhinestones on the cap do sparkle quite bling-bling like, which slightly diminishes a good rating), and now it is finally getting shorter around the cap.

About the Scent

First thought very Arabic, masculine, and has a lot.
In the top notes, I am greeted by raspberries and saffron and oud.
The incense and rose come beautifully to the forefront after 20-30 minutes, and the scent develops. I discover smells from the kitchen.
Thyme is very present, but also the sweetness of the rose or raspberry and the powerful oud are accompanied by opulent incense. Unfortunately, the fruit I perceive at the beginning quickly fades behind leather, oud, and incense, which prevents a truly TOP rating. Still, I sigh here at a high level.

After 3-4 hours, my friend then says to me I also have animalistic leather.
I really enjoy exploring the fragrance pyramid on my skin or even on the polo shirt I am wearing.
When I come home in the evening, having sprayed around 10 o'clock, my daughter and my wife comment on the scent, both find it intense but beautifully masculine, and I am glad I only sprayed 2 puffs because Attar al Ghutra has power and with more than 2 puffs, as I tested in a self-experiment, it becomes biting and penetrating.
I really like this scent and although it is probably a typical winter fragrance, I can't resist wearing it in summer as well.
I can smell this fragrance well on myself all the time, even now as I enjoy my vacation on this mild summer night and write here for you again.

Overall, the fragrance is recommended for people who love Arabic scents or want to start buying them and do not want to immediately lay down 200-300€ on the counter. I, for one, think I will acquire the fragrance again and wear it here and there with pleasure.

Yuqawam's sister enjoys raspberries
Do you know that feeling? You're just starting to explore new olfactory worlds. After years of Dior, Bruno Banani, and Jean Paul Gaultier, you discover Amouage, Tom Ford, and Arabic niche houses. I wish I had experienced this fragrance as one of my first "exotics." What my nose had to endure at first with Oud Wood or Tobacco Oud was a tough introduction. I also had to get used to Rasasi La Yuqawam, as the tobacco component can be quite challenging for untrained noses, and as a layperson, one is simply not accustomed to such scents.

Attar al Ghutra does it differently. Sweet berry combined with leather and tobacco in an almost perfect, sensual way. A very sweet berry note that remains present even in the dry down, helping the leather and tobacco develop their sensuality. I must admit, I love this fragrance because it contains an authentic raspberry note that runs like a red thread through the scent. Initially completely dominant, later it becomes more of a companion. As mentioned in the title, it feels like the sweet, lovely sister variant of LY. Anyone ready for something new and looking for a fragrance that has been crafted with high quality will find it here. Despite its uniqueness, the leather and tobacco are pleasant for everyone and very sensual. This is rather rare for scents of this kind. It has absolute niche quality! It could just as easily come from Tom Ford!
The bottle and sprayer are super high quality. The fragrance lasts a long time, but the projection could be better. People sitting next to you may not immediately notice the perfume. However, it is very suitable for "cuddle evenings" at home or a nice evening with friends, or even for a trip to the cinema, as the scent invites relaxation.
For me, the fragrance is definitely unisex, as I can easily imagine it on women or even on my girlfriend. It is NOT a masculine Tom Ford Tobacco Oud or anything like that.
However, for those who generally enjoy sweet fragrances and prefer the scent of berries, leather, and a hint of tobacco, I highly recommend this fragrance. For me, it is one of the best-crafted scents in my collection. Hats off!

Fragrance:
-Sweet variant of La Yuqawam (raspberry, leather, tobacco)
-Initially almost only sweet, later leather-tobacco in the background with berry sweetness

Longevity:
-About 7-10 hours on my skin

Sillage:
-Low/medium projection (not necessarily negative)
-No harsh, disturbing projection
-Rather close to the skin, which is pleasant as it doesn't fill the entire room.

Bottle:
-High quality, though not my colors, but fitting for the fragrance.
-Sprayer is top!

Occasion and season:
-Winter fragrance/autumn fragrance
-Evenings for two
-Walks
-Evenings at the cinema or with friends

Who is the fragrance suitable for?
Men and women
Younger audience

Criticism:
Perhaps a bit too sweet for many men
Low projection
Slightly synthetic note (with too many sprays, it can be overwhelming)

Leather + Cigar
Not for the faint of heart, this scent is soooo smoky; when you spray it, you think you've lit a cigar or a cigarette.
It is accompanied by a very intense and realistic leather note.
Extremely masculine, this good piece is definitely not for everyone.
Not a mainstream fragrance, it leans more towards niche.
I've heard it's supposed to be a clone of TF Ombre Leather, but I can't confirm that as I've never tested OL.
What I can say is that it resembles La Yuqawam by Rasasi a bit.
However, the Rasasi is fruitier and sweeter and a little less smoky.
I found Attar al Ghutra to be not sweet at all.
Rather very dry, medicinal, leathery, and smoky, veeeeery smoky.
The smoky note can cause headaches, which is why I had to sell it again.

I would say for men over 30 who love smoky fragrances, this would be an interesting scent.
Projection and longevity are of course very strong, with smoke and leather, no wonder.
More suited for colder days, definitely not for summer.

A scent that's a bit unpleasant for my nose - sour, spicy, smoky leather. Not even the saffron can save it. Not my thing.

Reminds me a lot of "Arabi Cana" and many other smoky, spicy-woody Arabic scents, synthetic, not my thing at all :-(

Raspberry is much more subtle than in TL & Clone. Floral smoky, synthetic-oriental. Leather scrubbed with fabric softener, more rose than oud; this works well.

Annoyingly dry oriental that lies between "Arabi Cana" and a raspberry-saffron-leather like "Tuscan Leather (Eau de Parfum)". Very unnatural.

La Yuqawam for beginners. Softer leather + more raspberry make it rounder and more approachable. Becomes increasingly masculine over time.

Smoky, leathery, with a faint fruity-sweetness in the distance. Interesting, but more suited for masculine types in the evening.

1:1 scent twin of Arabi Cana, just with significantly better performance. I like both, but due to longevity, the Ghutra is ahead for me.

The initially dominant fruity leather is joined by incense and dark patchouli. Resins and oud create the final chord. Fine!
