AZRAQ: Honeybee on steroids ("Stereou(i)den") I Inexpensive oriental with niche character!
Received this week, and tried out directly for you in the endurance test, the Shaghaf Oud Azraq Eau de Parfum a.k.a. the honeybee on steroids! Compared to the Shaghaf Oud Eau de Parfum, this was delivered in a kind of "Signature" line packaging, really high-quality and yes, it is supposed to be a limited edition. First impression in this respect really top!
But now we come to the most important part: the contents. I'm always a little apprehensive about massively hyped fragrances and have unfortunately been disappointed a few times in the recent past. Now let's get started my perfumos:
- When you spray it on for the first time, you actually notice the oud very strongly with a good portion of honey and cinnamon; however, I would have expected much more honey here as it is described everywhere on the web. In my perception, the oud is more predominant in the opening, but not extremely animalic, just sweet and woody due to the honey and cinnamon.
- This is followed by a very light leather accord, but already rather restrained sweet leather; together with dark patchouli, then slightly earthy in the drydown, sweet and woody oriental.
- The H/S is top; the Shaghaf Oud Azraq Eau de Parfum already performs very well and is in the upper segment.
What I don't understand are the comparisons to Oajan. Yes, they share common ingredients (honey, cinnamon, patchouli etc.), but they are so different! The Oajan is a real cinnamon bomb, slightly alcoholic and far more spicy. The quality of the Oajan is also much higher, of course. Unfortunately, I can't make a comparison with Honey Aoud because I don't know it, but it's not important from my point of view.
To summarize, it's a great, reasonably priced oriental with a sweet-odd impact and dark drydown that simply performs and performs. Definitely something special to put on the radar for Oriental lovers.
