Very helpful Review 10
AZRAQ: Honeybee on steroids ("Stereou(i)den") I Inexpensive oriental with niche character!
Received this week, and tried out directly for you in the endurance test, the Shaghaf Oud Azraq Eau de Parfum a.k.a. the honeybee on steroids! Compared to the Shaghaf Oud Eau de Parfum, this was delivered in a kind of "Signature" line packaging, really high-quality and yes, it is supposed to be a limited edition. First impression in this respect really top!

But now we come to the most important part: the contents. I'm always a little apprehensive about massively hyped fragrances and have unfortunately been disappointed a few times in the recent past. Now let's get started my perfumos:

- When you spray it on for the first time, you actually notice the oud very strongly with a good portion of honey and cinnamon; however, I would have expected much more honey here as it is described everywhere on the web. In my perception, the oud is more predominant in the opening, but not extremely animalic, just sweet and woody due to the honey and cinnamon.

- This is followed by a very light leather accord, but already rather restrained sweet leather; together with dark patchouli, then slightly earthy in the drydown, sweet and woody oriental.

- The H/S is top; the Shaghaf Oud Azraq Eau de Parfum already performs very well and is in the upper segment.

What I don't understand are the comparisons to Oajan. Yes, they share common ingredients (honey, cinnamon, patchouli etc.), but they are so different! The Oajan is a real cinnamon bomb, slightly alcoholic and far more spicy. The quality of the Oajan is also much higher, of course. Unfortunately, I can't make a comparison with Honey Aoud because I don't know it, but it's not important from my point of view.

To summarize, it's a great, reasonably priced oriental with a sweet-odd impact and dark drydown that simply performs and performs. Definitely something special to put on the radar for Oriental lovers.

Good things sometimes take time
As is often the case in life, not everything can always please at the first encounter.
Although that's not entirely true, I did like it...just not for me or on me. The Shaghaf Oud Azraq Eau de Parfum was more of a very masculine-dominated men's fragrance with a slightly sweet undertone with woody nuances and a strong niche character. Exactly the combination that I find very beguiling and attractive on a man. If I had to choose, it's even the most beautiful fragrance I could imagine wearing on my boyfriend, but unfortunately he found it a tad too sweet to want to wear it himself (we're still working on it).

The journey with Shaghaf Oud Azraq Eau de Parfum continued for a few more days and it was extensively tested on me. And suddenly a wonderful aroma of pure honey developed on my skin. But vanilla, cinnamon and oud were also playfully added and nestled against me in a harmonious symphony. I suddenly perceived the fragrance in a completely different way. Still unisex, but also wearable for you, especially if you like it striking and extravagant.

After this great discovery, I certainly felt the fragrance on me for a good 10-12 hours and even after showering, you could still get close to the Shaghaf Oud Azraq Eau de Parfum. The sillage was so strong that my friend could even smell where I was when I was shopping. Once again, Swiss Arabian has worked its magic and created a wonderful fragrance for the colder months of the year. Preferably something for the evening due to its deep character, but if you don't overdo it with the dosage, it can also be worn during the day.

Sometimes you just need a little time to find each other in the end.

Sweet and spicy honey with niche quality
Due to the current situation, I would like to comment on this great Shaghaf Oud Azraq, which is a limited edition from the Swiss Arabian brand. For a long time, it was only available at the original price of around €70, which it can be worth. However, for the price of €45, for which it is currently available again, it is almost a must-buy for all fans of sweet and spicy fragrances. A back-up is also absolutely not a bad choice here due to the limited edition. Also because these shaghafs are all only available in 75ml.
In addition to the Azraq, the Shaghaf Oud Ahmar Eau de Parfum and the Shaghaf Oud Tonka have also been released as limited editions, which are also difficult to obtain at the moment and even if only for the full price. I am particularly curious about the Tonka. Overall, a very hyped range, which is mainly due to this Beastmode original Shaghaf Oud. Meanwhile, a colorful range that covers many themes and offers interesting fragrances.

The normal Shaghaf Ouds, or the original Shaghaf, come in a normal box. The 3 limited editions Azraq, Ahmar and Tonka come in niche packaging, which is definitely the way it should look. Well done, this packaging. It looks very classy. The bottle is also really pretty with this great matt blue and this golden lid.
This fragrance is supposed to be a twin to Honey Aoud. I can't say anything about it as I haven't tested it. Oajan is listed as another twin, but I find this PdM even softer and gentler. In terms of notes, however, they all share this beautiful honey note with spice. In my opinion, this Azraq can't quite keep up with Oajan, but it really is a great alternative for this price. This is also a more oriental version.

What does it smell like? As soon as you spray it on, you're hit with a strong oriental note, along with honey and a boozy nuance. Alcoholic notes are not specified, but it has a strong boozy vibe, especially at the start. I also like these oriental notes. Indicated oud, in the pyramid and also in the title. I don't smell a clear oud note, but it still seems very oriental but also pleasing if you are not so familiar with oriental fragrances. This beautiful honey note and the oriental harmonize and ensure that this fragrance is not too soft or too sweet. A light amber note also comes through well after a while and leather adds a sophisticated touch. The patchouli also comes through well later and provides a dark touch. The base is very pleasant and stylish with oriental, patch, leather and sweetness.
An all-round successful creation, which looks very classy and could also be sold in a niche bottle. This fragrance can easily compete with brands such as Montale. The performance is also really strong. Especially the sillage in the first few hours is something that makes you stand out. It's worth it! The longevity should also easily reach double digits. A great choice in winter and as a transitional fragrance. This fragrance seems to be more popular with men. Nevertheless, I feel that unisex is justified, especially if a woman has a preference for oriental, sweet and spicy fragrances.

Buy it while this fragrance is still available at a fair or good price. It's worth it!

Dream
Meanwhile, I have had three fragrances from Swiss Arabian, as all are reasonably affordable (in comparison). This is the only one that may remain. Before that, I had the Shaghaf Oud, in the gold bottle. An absolute beast. So far with me unsurpassed room-filling, which made him but also barely bearable. Then now at the same time also the Shaghaf Oud Ahmar = Kirke Light, which is ok, but I do not like 100% (like Kirke also not so), and now so this one.
My wife likes neither oud nor any oriental fragrances at all. That times in advance. Although the fragrance is both somehow also, you do not notice it so. My wife isver not negatively struck. Provided one doses carefully, there is enough one, maximum two sprays, from the valuable feeling bottle. In the prelude I smell actually also cherry. How it subsequently develops I can not really say, perhaps only so much, in my eyes simply beautiful, round, unobtrusive, soft, extraordinary. He changes in my opinion then also noiht too much more, which I like very much. Durability and sillage are top. Just as one would wish. Oajan of PdM I do not know, so I can not compare. But that was superfluous anyway when comparing prices.
Hope I could help even without breaking down the fragrance into its components. Also recommend a blind buy at the price, if you like fragrances in the direction. Think the fragrance is very good for autumn and winter, but quite wearable in summer, each as he likes it;-)

Beautiful fragrance, but...
...based on the reviews here on Parfumo and through numerous perfume influencers on Youtube etc., I was expecting something completely different.

First of all: It's the first of the Swiss Arabian Shagaf Oud series that I've smelled so far. The range is very hyped, which is why my expectations were high. I love oriental perfumes and this one is basically a really great oriental.

It starts off surprisingly oudy with a hint of cinnamon and honey. The patchouli gives it a few rough edges that really set it apart from many other oriental oud fragrances. Vanilla and leather only join in later in the fragrance. In my opinion, the vanilla could have been integrated much more strongly, but it would do it good.

Its performance is actually surprising: its longevity and sillage are more than average. I applied it in the morning after showering and could still clearly perceive it in the evening after more than 12 hours. Nothing new for an oud fragrance, but with Azraq you can still clearly perceive all the fragrance components. With many other oud fragrances, all that remains in the end is a musty, woody note that is often the same.

Now to the big BUT about Shagaf Oud Azraq: Unfortunately, I cannot underline the alleged similarity to PDM Oajan at all. The two are quite different, which is why I can't explain why so many people here draw parallels between the two fragrances. Oajan is clearly more cinnamony and sweeter, has less of the oudy note of Azraq and, in my opinion, goes in a different direction. This is not to say that the Shagaf Oud Azraq is not a less good release. Both are special in their own right and really great perfumes. However, if you expect a fragrance similar to Oajan, you will be bitterly disappointed.

It reminds me of Montale Honey Aoud, but I still prefer this one.
