Give it some time
There is really very little to find online about Opulence of Dubai, and although I really like oriental fragrances, it took me a while to finally buy it.

At the first sniff, I was disappointed all around. I felt overwhelmed only by the ginger, that was it.

But it needs time! Then I tested it again and again at different temperatures, and currently, the bottle is emptying faster than I would like.

The initial opening is heavenly sparkling fresh citrusy, but within a few minutes, it transitions into a slightly warmer fresh spice.

This scent DNA is found nowhere else. To me, after 20 minutes, it feels a bit like Azzaro Most Wanted Parfum combined with the scent impression of Coca Cola spices, especially Red Bull Cola. There’s also an underlying freshness from bergamot.

Opulence of Dubai feels similar to me. Swiss Arabian is typically quite "airy" with OoD. This means the scent impression is not very dense, and you are not overwhelmed by heavy clouds.

I find it super pleasant by now, as even two or three more sprays are not an "overkill." However, the fragrance does leave stains on white clothing. And despite the airiness, the sillage is quite decent.

In summary, a fresh spicy oriental with a pleasant sweetness. The bottles from the Cities Collection are a real feast for the eyes anyway. Simple, elegant, and very stylish!

From my side, definitely test it multiple times! It really has something.

A unique scent from the house
I have sniffed and tested the entire Cities collection on my skin, and the O.o.D is by far the best of the series, closely followed by Casablanca.

About the scent itself (9.25 out of 10):
A diverse fragrance with sweet-spicy notes, transitioning to powdery, slightly woody, and resinous notes. And above all, with oriental aspects. There is hardly any synthetic feel, only noticeable in the first 30 seconds, but that might be due to the fragrance concentration.

Top notes:
Elemi resin, ginger, and the popular bergamot. The elemi resin harmonizes prominently with the ginger. The bergamot adds a slightly sharp and light touch in the top.

In the heart, notes like: pink pepper, cardamom, rose, and chocolate emerge. Very present to my nose is the mixture of cardamom, pepper, and chocolate (though I must say it smells more like cocoa powder to me, reminiscent of LIDGE by Guerlain). The three fragrances, along with the elemi resin and ginger, give the scent its signature. It thus becomes spicy-powdery and naturally sweeter. The sweetness is perfect for my taste! The rose only subtly comes through, adding a velvety touch.

In the base, we find: vanilla, amber, cedarwood, and cypriol. It becomes rounder and more compact in the drydown. I personally hardly perceive the other notes like coffee and incense!

Longevity: 9.4 out of 10
On my skin, it lasts about 9 - 10 hours. On clothes, 12+ hours.
[PS: My spray routine varies by fragrance, but here I would use 4 - 5 sprays].

Sillage: 9 out of 10
The sillage is strong in the first 2 hours, but becomes closer to the skin after about 7 hours. Personally, I can still perceive it after over 8 hours!

Final Rating: 9.35 out of 10
This perfume has immediately become my favorite from Swiss Arabian. Honestly! Such a luxurious and unique perfume, especially from the brand, simply TOP! I am a big fan of Shaghaf Oud, especially if you still have the old version with the poor sprayer like I do. But okay, I think it has hardly been reformulated. However, it is sweeter and sharper/synthetic than O.o.D! Therefore, it is a mature scent and poses very strong competition to Shaghaf Oud!! Very underrated, as I mentioned at the beginning!

P.S.: *This is a repost of an old entry of mine about this perfume and not a KI-generated text, dear Parfumo community. I write everything myself!*

Otherwise, best regards dear Parfumo community and have a nice day!

What? Tea...?
So far, I haven't heard any perfume influencer say anything specific about Opulence Of Dubai... "completely different and special" or "indescribable" doesn't really help much. And so, like many others, I was very curious about this fragrance. A hundred percent blind buy, as you couldn't really imagine anything at all.
Today received from a very dear perfumer, the bottle just as beautiful as with Essence of Casablanca; first spray and a "hmmmm"... first thought: somehow... green! Sprayed the scent again on my sleeve and the sofa cushion. You should smell the fragrance all day and form an opinion, of course.
Just before midnight, I must share my humble opinion with you all:

Opulence Of Dubai is the sister of Lattafas Antique (even more than Liam Grey)! I can smell the tea... and I hope you can finally make something of the fragrance, just like I have since today.

Unisex, with a slightly masculine tendency (but I will definitely rock it anyway).
H/S very present, but pleasant. Suitable for all seasons.

Have fun spraying!

First impression was DHI with cardamom and a refreshing elemi! Seems familiar but distinctive enough. Will report back in 2 weeks.

What’s the name of this tea again? I’m in the kitchen with Mom while she makes me a cold tea. No school tomorrow. Nostalgia.

Thank you for this gift! A hint of desert sand wafts through the office. Sharp ginger, dark rose, and roasted coffee. Surprisingly beautiful!

Shaghaf Oud's grown-up brother.
The beard is trimmed, acne and life are under control. The chocolate pot is only occasionally dipped into.

Very unique, an oriental that always works. Spices, ginger, coffee, and not too sweet. Gives me "Golden Dallah | XerJoff" vibes.

Lightly refreshed elemi resin, pleasantly smoky with a gentle rose and your spice. You have to like it, but it's really well crafted!

The sweetness of Triumph of Bacchus Extrait de Parfum paired with incense that gradually comes to the forefront. Wonderful.

It resembles Tobacco 01 but is more gourmand at first… later the same incense note comes through.
