Complex, unique and with a hint of Dior Homme Intense
When I first tested Opulence of Dubai in a perfume store, I was immediately captivated.
Later, I got myself a bottle, but unfortunately, I found the scent at home not as fascinating as my first impression.

The opening presents an exciting mix of spicy, resinous, and fresh notes.
Bergamot, elemi resin, and ginger are immediately present, which can be quite an acquired taste at first sniff.

Shortly after, a creamy, fresh Damask rose unfolds, accompanied by a generous portion of cardamom.
You can immediately tell that it is a very high-quality, but also complex fragrance that is not so easy to grasp.
While I cannot pick out many of the notes listed in the fragrance pyramid individually, the Bourbon vanilla comes through clearly.

The interplay of vanilla, cardamom, elemi resin, and a subtle bergamot in the background is truly unique; I have never smelled a DNA like this before.
If I had to compare it: It smells like an oriental version of Dior Homme Intense (2011).

Regarding performance, I do not fully share the opinion of many others.
The longevity is okay, but I perceive the sillage as rather moderate and not strong.

In conclusion, I would classify the fragrance as unisex, even though it has a slightly masculine touch for my nose (M60%/40%W).

Yes, no... maybe
I don't know if you're familiar with this phenomenon of total indecisiveness when it comes to certain fragrances. Sometimes I test a scent and fall in love with it immediately, feeling like I absolutely need to have a bottle right away. The next day, I spray it on again because I couldn't get enough of it the day before, and suddenly, while it’s still quite beautiful, the excitement has faded.
One then questions whether one really needs it... and so the sample disappears back into the cupboard for a few weeks until one rediscovers it, sprays it on again, and the "must-have" feeling starts all over again.
The same goes for "Opulence of Dubai | Swiss Arabian."
It’s an endless back and forth, and this has been the case since I first smelled the fragrance a long time ago.
But alright, I don’t want to bore you any longer with my dilemma, so let’s get to the scent.

'Opulence of Dubai' starts off citrusy, fresh, and spicy.
Immediately, a zesty, bitter bergamot is recognizable, accompanied by sharp, aromatic ginger. This is complemented by elemi resin, which adds a fresh-balsamic nuance and gives the fragrance a pleasantly woody depth.

Shortly thereafter, cardamom makes an appearance, followed by an opulent, sweet, noble, and enchanting Damask rose. It unfolds wonderfully between the fresh and spicy notes and shapes the scent profile from then on.

In the base, a slightly sweet, finely spiced vanilla comes into play, which allows the fragrance to finish softly and warmly.

The longevity is very good.
I perceive it over several hours, although the projection is rather moderate.
Even though significantly more men than women own it, I find it absolutely unisex.

In summary, I can say that I like Opulence of Dubai very much. It is an oriental, elegant, and warm-spicy fragrance, where all the notes harmonize beautifully with each other and nothing is out of place.
What I particularly like is the interplay between the woody-spicy elemi resin, the noble Damask rose, and the sweet-warm vanilla.
This combination makes the fragrance something special for me, something I haven't smelled before in this way.
For anyone who is now curious and hasn't yet encountered it, I can only recommend giving it a try, as it is worth it.

Now, as I sit here writing the review and have the scent back in my nose, I am actually quite sure again that a bottle may join my collection... maybe...

Give it some time
There is really very little to find online about Opulence of Dubai, and although I really like oriental fragrances, it took me a while to finally buy it.

At the first sniff, I was disappointed all around. I felt overwhelmed only by the ginger, that was it.

But it needs time! Then I tested it again and again at different temperatures, and currently, the bottle is emptying faster than I would like.

The initial opening is heavenly sparkling fresh citrusy, but within a few minutes, it transitions into a slightly warmer fresh spice.

This scent DNA is found nowhere else. To me, after 20 minutes, it feels a bit like Azzaro Most Wanted Parfum combined with the scent impression of Coca Cola spices, especially Red Bull Cola. There’s also an underlying freshness from bergamot.

Opulence of Dubai feels similar to me. Swiss Arabian is typically quite "airy" with OoD. This means the scent impression is not very dense, and you are not overwhelmed by heavy clouds.

I find it super pleasant by now, as even two or three more sprays are not an "overkill." However, the fragrance does leave stains on white clothing. And despite the airiness, the sillage is quite decent.

In summary, a fresh spicy oriental with a pleasant sweetness. The bottles from the Cities Collection are a real feast for the eyes anyway. Simple, elegant, and very stylish!

From my side, definitely test it multiple times! It really has something.

What? Tea...?
So far, I haven't heard any perfume influencer say anything specific about Opulence Of Dubai... "completely different and special" or "indescribable" doesn't really help much. And so, like many others, I was very curious about this fragrance. A hundred percent blind buy, as you couldn't really imagine anything at all.
Today received from a very dear perfumer, the bottle just as beautiful as with Essence of Casablanca; first spray and a "hmmmm"... first thought: somehow... green! Sprayed the scent again on my sleeve and the sofa cushion. You should smell the fragrance all day and form an opinion, of course.
Just before midnight, I must share my humble opinion with you all:

Opulence Of Dubai is the sister of Lattafas Antique (even more than Liam Grey)! I can smell the tea... and I hope you can finally make something of the fragrance, just like I have since today.

Unisex, with a slightly masculine tendency (but I will definitely rock it anyway).
H/S very present, but pleasant. Suitable for all seasons.

Have fun spraying!

First impression was DHI with cardamom and a refreshing elemi! Seems familiar but distinctive enough. Will report back in 2 weeks.

Thank you for this gift! A hint of desert sand wafts through the office. Sharp ginger, dark rose, and roasted coffee. Surprisingly beautiful!

What’s the name of this tea again? I’m in the kitchen with Mom while she makes me a cold tea. No school tomorrow. Nostalgia.
