In my collection, I can welcome a new brand: Thameen from the UK. I always enjoy it when other brands besides the usual suspects make it into my collection, also visually. The brand with Arabic roots is primarily known for the Oud Wood alternative
Carved Oud Extrait de Parfum. Thameen is based in London and is popular for the Treasure Collection, which stands out in a beautiful blue tone. I managed to get this Amber Room in 100ml at a great price, for about 1/3 of the MSRP (330€). Additionally, this fragrance is also available in 50ml, which costs 220€ according to the MSRP. The reason for this very good price is likely the lack of hype and probably too high stock levels that aren't selling as well. In my opinion, this Amber Room is worth it if you like fragrances such as
Ambre Nuit Eau de Parfum or
40 Knots. I have the 40 Knots, but was still looking for an alternative that leans more towards Dior. This is the case here, and thus you get a noble and elegant scent, especially for the evening, thanks to wonderful warm amber notes and elegant spice.
This Extrait de Parfum comes in a luxurious niche box that already makes an impression, yet does not come off as too extravagant. The bottle is also a real eye-catcher with this beautiful blue tone and the magnetic cap. It's great to have it standing on the cap.
The scent definitely leans towards Ambre Nuit. Whether this is intentional or not is hard to say. The DNA of warm amber and this subtle spice is not a groundbreaking revolution in fragrance DNA, but it works quite well and elegantly settles on the skin. The slightly cinnamon (not wintry) spice and the warm-sensual rose note complement the amber note beautifully. Additionally, the top note is not too heavy and also carries light fresh citrus notes with a hint of ginger spice. However, the amber note is the star throughout the entire progression and clearly takes center stage. The combination of rose and cinnamon provides warm notes that are easy to wear and never become too heavy. The base consists of natural amber, which is complemented by tonka, sandalwood, and a stylish combination of incense and vetiver. The incense note is soft and rather not smoky. Overall, a very stylish creation that is extremely suitable for evening wear, but also not too much for everyday use if you enjoy warm fragrances. Especially in the darker season, this can be worn almost continuously, and in the evening year-round. The scent is absolutely unisex, although of course, significantly more men wear this amber DNA.
Performance is absolutely solid and on par with Ambre Nuit, if not slightly better. A great optimal scent to stylishly spread a sillage without overpowering. It fits the warm DNA.
Overall, a great stylish scent in the style of Ambre Nuit. A wonderful warm DNA that is absolutely fantastic in the offering. Worth it if you like amber fragrances that can be worn well in the evening.
