Simply a Masterpiece
First of all, I don't know Ambre Nuit and therefore can't refer to it, but what I can say is that the scent strongly reminds me of 40 Knots, but with much more depth. I find it super underrated and very suitable for everyday wear. While you can't really notice a change in 40 Knots, the Amber Room has something magical, this oriental opening and the power that later merges with the DNA of 40 Knots is just WOW. An absolute must try.

Well-Executed Familiar DNA
In my collection, I can welcome a new brand: Thameen from the UK. I always enjoy it when other brands besides the usual suspects make it into my collection, also visually. The brand with Arabic roots is primarily known for the Oud Wood alternative Carved Oud Extrait de Parfum. Thameen is based in London and is popular for the Treasure Collection, which stands out in a beautiful blue tone. I managed to get this Amber Room in 100ml at a great price, for about 1/3 of the MSRP (330€). Additionally, this fragrance is also available in 50ml, which costs 220€ according to the MSRP. The reason for this very good price is likely the lack of hype and probably too high stock levels that aren't selling as well. In my opinion, this Amber Room is worth it if you like fragrances such as Ambre Nuit Eau de Parfum or 40 Knots. I have the 40 Knots, but was still looking for an alternative that leans more towards Dior. This is the case here, and thus you get a noble and elegant scent, especially for the evening, thanks to wonderful warm amber notes and elegant spice.

This Extrait de Parfum comes in a luxurious niche box that already makes an impression, yet does not come off as too extravagant. The bottle is also a real eye-catcher with this beautiful blue tone and the magnetic cap. It's great to have it standing on the cap.
The scent definitely leans towards Ambre Nuit. Whether this is intentional or not is hard to say. The DNA of warm amber and this subtle spice is not a groundbreaking revolution in fragrance DNA, but it works quite well and elegantly settles on the skin. The slightly cinnamon (not wintry) spice and the warm-sensual rose note complement the amber note beautifully. Additionally, the top note is not too heavy and also carries light fresh citrus notes with a hint of ginger spice. However, the amber note is the star throughout the entire progression and clearly takes center stage. The combination of rose and cinnamon provides warm notes that are easy to wear and never become too heavy. The base consists of natural amber, which is complemented by tonka, sandalwood, and a stylish combination of incense and vetiver. The incense note is soft and rather not smoky. Overall, a very stylish creation that is extremely suitable for evening wear, but also not too much for everyday use if you enjoy warm fragrances. Especially in the darker season, this can be worn almost continuously, and in the evening year-round. The scent is absolutely unisex, although of course, significantly more men wear this amber DNA.
Performance is absolutely solid and on par with Ambre Nuit, if not slightly better. A great optimal scent to stylishly spread a sillage without overpowering. It fits the warm DNA.

Overall, a great stylish scent in the style of Ambre Nuit. A wonderful warm DNA that is absolutely fantastic in the offering. Worth it if you like amber fragrances that can be worn well in the evening.

From 40 Knots and Ambre Nuit finally landed here
Amber Room is a fragrance where I immediately knew: now I have arrived. I have had a fondness for scents in this direction for a while. My entry point was 40 Knots, which I liked very much at first, but later it seemed a bit too cool and maritime. Then came Ambre Nuit, a beautiful fragrance that I still enjoy smelling today, but something always felt just a little bit missing there.

Through a recommendation from Marc Gebauer, I finally ended up at Amber Room - and I must say, that was exactly the right decision. Of all three fragrances, it is the most complete for me. The warm, amber base, which is both elegant and powerful, combined with a slightly spicy freshness at the beginning: that makes it exciting and wearable at the same time. It has that luxurious feeling without being over the top.

What I particularly like is the balance. It is present but not too loud, elegant but not distant. You feel a certain depth, but also lightness. For me, it works just as well during the day as in the evening, and I always have the feeling that it fits perfectly - like a piece of clothing that is tailored to measure.

The longevity is really strong. I easily get eight to ten hours, often even longer, and even after many hours, this warm, slightly woody amber note remains on the skin. The sillage is quite noticeable at first, but then settles into a pleasant aura.

All in all, I am glad to have gone the route through 40 Knots and Ambre Nuit because it gives me a clear understanding of why Amber Room is the best choice for me. It combines what I liked about the others and adds that certain extra. Therefore, it is currently one of the strongest fragrances in my collection - and one that will surely stay for a long time.

Lower Degree of Obscurity
Since Thameen is a provider rooted in Arabic culture but based in London, it was hardly surprising that, in the context of British humor, there would be as little amber in this fragrance as there is amber room anywhere else. Well, we will see if "Amber Room" rightly refers to the infamous room.

A hint of dark, oily rose with leathery undertones opens - recognizable perhaps only if the ingredients are known. It takes on a rough, almost leathery quality from the patchouli corner, along with a bitter astringency from completely de-fruited citrus and dull, stale spice.

After about ten minutes, a rose can be sensed that can be called ambered; at least, alongside the effortful flower, a sweetness literally oscillates between sugar and cinnamon. And it chooses sugar. The let's-say rose is strangely enveloped by this, especially since it now comes across more as anemic and noble rose and struggles mightily to assert itself against the doubly blurred fruitiness of a If-I-read-it-I-concede-it ginger. The entire fragrance feels, in the first half hour, somehow candied on one hand, yet oddly dusty on the other.

Gradually, the dust settles and what remains is... well... a still diffuse layer. The erratic amber now tries a creamy labdanum twist with petting-zoo animalic notes. Relatively clearly, a kind of vetiver presents itself to it (an hour has just passed), which I could identify perfectly without looking it up. However, it is not prominent. Nothing is prominent today. Even the rose is a shadow.

After about two hours, a sandy creaminess briefly breaks through, which then joins forces with a cinnamon-sweet revival before the fragrance veers onto the synthetic wood track, where it spends the rest of the day. At noon, I think of Iso-E-Super-retro soda à la Escentric, but that is merely a fitting footnote.

Conclusion regarding amber: It does not reach the degree of obscurity of the amber room here. It is more comparable to the background music of the space. I mean the observation that the place occasionally - with subjectively dwindling attention readiness - makes its rounds through the media, preferably on the content clearance rack of any web portals devoid of any editorial claim.

Overall conclusion: meager.

I thank Ergoproxy for the sample.

Nice sweet amber, not too innovative but composed well. Bought mine yesterday on clearance sale half off. Can't complain at all

It has some things in common with Amber Nuit, its structure is very similar, however here it lacks fresh flavor. More warm amber and spices

High quality amber perfume. It comes over to me though like warm amber and dry wood are fighting all the time and I find it confusing

Warm woody amber significantly freshened up by an effervescent citrus & spice combo. Rose takes center stage as it dries, like Ambre Nuit.

Boozy & spicy open (Initio-esque), goes oriental-spicy thereafter. Dries within the 40 Knots realm w/ more complexity, but less performance.

Gentle rose and tonka invite you to cuddle. It stays pleasant, soft, and polite until breakfast the next morning. I prefer to ghost.
