Direct inspiration and 30% more ?
So, it is no secret that some of the famous Terenzi creations smell like established scents from the Market .. I am looking at you Kirké and Bürdel !

So, the V Canto line was not under my radar at all, and the bottles are not easy to find or test, therefore a blind buy for not such a good rated line is not an option.

I got some nice samples for Giambellino, Guercino and Misiarte and after I tried this highly rated Naxos wannabe, I had to write a review ... like a first impression, actually.

It does smell similar to Naxos, much more floral and less honey like .. the scent is an absolute joy to wear and I would consider buying a bottle of this, as the scent profile is very nice and airy.

But where it hits me hard is the price: 315€ at the time of writing this review !

I mean, come on Cereria Terenzi .. you copy a scent which was copied originally from Pure Havane from Mugler.
Only God knows why L´Oreal decided to kill the Mugler brand and discontinue everything from there .. but that played well in the end for Xerjoff. I know that Mazzolari has a copy paste scent for Naxos and now V Canto too?

I see no point in this release, as we already have Naxos at 245€ for the 100ml still, who is this for .. maybe V Canto knows something I don´t.

A versus with Naxos will follow soon.

A fleeting but no less impressive encounter
Since this unisex fragrance has received rather few reviews so far, and these have been from men, and I would also like to offer my "thank you" for taking part in a Tiziana and Paolo Terenzi letter, this was an opportunity to comment on a fragrance again after a long time.

As an Italophone as well as a "self-explanatory" Italophile, I had been eyeing the Terenzi fragrances for some time. So I was all the more pleased with the unexpectedly positive response to an "application" to participate in the above-mentioned fragrance letter, because I don't get any Terenzi fragrances under my nose in the places I can access.

While all of the Tiziana Terenzi creations tested in the set so far have been nice but not overwhelming for me, her brother's works immediately appealed to me much more intensely. At the beginning, I am enveloped by a pleasant, sweet citrus note that is slightly reminiscent of an orange liqueur. The heart note is quite transparent in its florality right from the start, although I can't smell any of the numerous flowers mentioned. But you don't have to, and for me this is not a criterion for successful perfumery.
I am struck by something that has probably been criticized here before: the originality of the floral names and the origin of the flowers, which is also a concern here. Rose, jasmine, lavender, orange blossom, lily of the valley, lilac (as general examples of fragrances or fragrant flowers) certainly have a fragrance that is more or less appreciated. But the daffodil, for example, I - and just a few days ago, independently of each other, some family members - perceived as extremely smelly. Something between vomit and decay. And as a child, I used to hike through the forests of southern Germany with my father, where he would show me the stork's bill along the way. It definitely smelled of nothing, as did the violets.

Sorry for this digression. So now I have this Mediterranean, late afternoon wonder scent flower of Giambellino on the tip of my left ring finger (a grande dame of the Rhine-Main perfumery scene - she closed her wonderful, personal business many years ago in her old age and with a heavy heart - insisted on always using a fingertip for testing; once the fragrance had finally passed into the possession of the buyer, she recommended spraying it on the stomach, in the area of the stomach). There is something brave and yet profound for me in this scent. Not boring in any way - more like a tidy soap box, but perhaps revealing snippets of diary entries. After all, the series is also called "anime del castello", which implies a certain unspoken nature of the whispering foreboding.

In the drydown, there is a milky, only slightly sweet farewell, whereby the whole wonder on my skin is over after a maximum of three hours. It is therefore with a heavy heart that I will remove Giambellino, which I added to my wish list in my initial enthusiasm.

A slightly flowery Naxos. Very beautiful!
The Giambellino is already relatively reminiscent of Xerjoff Naxos. Not compelling in the top note, but definitely after a short time.

The fragrance starts with this great citrusy mix of different citrus fruits, but everything is very relaxed and soft. A pleasant sweetness is also immediately noticeable. After a relatively short time, the recognizable Xerjoff Naxos vibes come through. There is no honey listed, but something in this fragrance gives you such a feeling.
Plus these super pleasant floral notes. It's not overpowering at all either, just pleasant.
It gives the fragrance a certain depth. It also creates a great creamy impression.

The Giambellino is super elegant, serious, soft and beautiful.
Compared to Naxos, it is simply a little softer and more floral.

The performance is also really good! It holds and projects well.

Nice thing!

The better Naxos ?
I got this fragrance from a friend yesterday and tracked it down.

At first, it doesn't smell or
Almost not at all like naxos.
After a short time, however, an incredibly beautiful ...softer naxos emerges which for me personally is more appealing and more beautiful than the naxos.
Great quality.
I found it a little more floral than the naxos which I don't think is a bad thing either.
I love the lavender in this fragrance which in my opinion is better and more beautiful than the naxos.

H/S I don't need to say much about it as it is an extrait de parfum.

I think so far this "naxos" is the more successful and more beautiful brother of naxos.

Have fun trying it.

The lavender-tobacco profile is nice but all too familiar. The caramel overdose really does not make it better.
