Full of pizzazz
Why didn't I hoard this perfume? It's one of the fragrance I'd love to own again. What a pity Valentino discontinued this gem years ago (and gave us nondescript fruity-florals like the recent "Valentina" instead).
Top notes are hyacinth and orange blossom, followed by rose, jasmine, narcissus and marigold. The composition is backed-up by patchouli, sandalwood and musk. It's rich and deep, very original and exhilarating, Sicily in a bottle (this image may serve to explain the perfume's ferocious name). Vendetta conjures up images of blue sky and blazing sun, but the lovely drydown is also very sensuous, the patchouli is quite strong throbbing right through to the very end. Vendetta is not in the least offensive, but radiant and full of pizzazz. So much better than many of the new releases by Valentino. The fan-like flacon was designed by Serge Manseau and is a beautiful collector's object. If only my bottle wasn't empty...

A sunny, warm and joyful revenge
Vendetta is such joyfull perfume it makes me smile. I think the best revenge you can serve to those who hurt you is to be intensely and undoubtedly happy. This perfume represents that exact feeling.

I'm afraid you need to be an 80's perfume style admirer to be able to appreciate it.

Vendetta is a sunny, warm and honeyed floral bouquet. Peach and plum are big in the opening phase but get much softer in the dry down. So does the perfume itself, I own the pure perfume and after the first few minutes it settles into a close to skin companion that only an intimate friend will have access to.

Indeed another lost gem.

Amazing classic
What a beautiful and fine creation. The simplicity is bliss, they said. Yes, but in its apparent simplicity, this one is complex, not dark at all, versatile. The natural ingredients stands out and they put on shame all the chemichal mess frommnowadays " creations" like the ones from.Mancera, Montale and many more. It s fruity, chypre, classic, happy scent, a vendetta against all the mess IFRA made from today' s perfumery. I love it!

How a girl marked her territory in the 90s
Probably it’s the years of advanced childhood - that is, the age between nine and thirteen, when you are no longer a toddler, but not quite in puberty yet (although I believe this process is moving forward with each generation) - in which girls and boys have the least to say to each other. At that age, girls were, for me, simply 'the girls', and I later realized that I was not the only boy who assumed back then - a rather amusing assumption from today’s perspective - that all girls are basically friends with each other, and that every girl likes every other girl.

That not every girl likes every other girl - to put it cautiously - I learned in the years that followed, starting around sixteen. It was the time when we - boys and girls - experimented with each other and other new things - also, but not only with perfumes. And because at that age you want to make your uniqueness visibly apparent (and tattoos were far less popular around the turn of the decade from the 80s to the 90s than they are today), perfume was definitely used as a distinguishing feature - by trying to claim one first and then defending it against imitators.

Roma, Le Bain, Trésor, and Dune were quickly 'claimed', Loulou and a bit later Eden as well (and there was always someone who knew someone whose, let’s say: 'moral suitability' could at least be questioned). I had a classmate who had her birthday in the pre-Christmas season and at that time - it must have been her sixteenth birthday - received Valentino's Vendetta as a gift, which she immediately made her own in the manner described above, loudly proclaiming or having it proclaimed in her friend circle (and beyond): 'I have it now! Whoever gets it too will have to deal with me!'

For pubescent girls, there are undoubtedly more suitable perfumes than Vendetta Donna, but who cares? Either I remember it incompletely, or the listing of its ingredients has changed since then, because I believe I remember a typically fruity-powdery women's scent from the early 90s: blossom, peach, and vanilla (or if you prefer, heliotrope). Clearly, this was more the scent of a woman than that of a girl, but so were Trésor and Roma. After all, this one was comparatively a bit less heavy-handedly orchestrated, though that might also have been due to my classmate's more reasonable dosage.

Conclusion: Vendetta had an equally abrupt and infamous end back then - when a boy, who was supposed to smell like Roma, suddenly smelled treacherously of Vendetta after a night full of beer and recklessness. And Roma noticed this and confronted Vendetta in the senior common room on Monday. Screaming. Possibly scratching and hair-pulling, but my memory might be deceiving me there. After that, I never smelled it on a woman again. But yes, with 'revenge, blood revenge' it has indeed been claimed by me since then. And that not every girl necessarily likes every other girl, I have known since then as well.

Really a shame about it
We were certainly drawn to the name Vendetta back then. It was the time of mafia movies, and encountering something a bit forbidden, something wicked in our otherwise safe everyday lives was quite extraordinary. On top of that, the beautiful bottle further heightened its desirability. I never owned Vendetta myself, and at that time it wasn’t really my scent direction, but today I could imagine wearing this creation.

Vendetta is by no means as opulent and overloaded as one might assume when looking at the fragrance pyramid. And of course, you can't really identify every single component.

The top note starts off softly floral and, with the peach and plum, also creamy-fruity, but in the heart note, heliotrope clearly takes the lead. Ylang and tuberose, which usually tend to be more prominent, remain subtly in the background, and the iris root already leads into the expressive base. With this perfume, you can't really speak of the base as a mere conclusion, as it tells a very independent story that I particularly enjoy, because now the cozy, warm ingredients dominate while still carrying the elegant floral notes from the heart along with them. Vendetta does not become darker; rather, it retains a golden hue until the end - olfactorily speaking.

The longevity is very good, and Vendetta would certainly be an evening fragrance today that could be mentioned in the same breath as 24, Faubourg or Nocturne by Caron.

It was my mother's signature scent in winter. The typical "fur scent" : opulent, rich, intoxicating, really ladylike.Son of the glorious 80s

You definitely have to like hyacinth here, as it's very present. Floral-spicy pomegranate with a myrrh-sweet base. Revenge for the big occasion.

If scents were handguns, V would be the Kalashnikov: it fires honey almonds non-stop and then throws a bouquet afterward.
