Beautiful Perfumery
The first time I sprayed this, I almost threw away the sample. Why would anyone want to smell like this?! I kept it anyway. The second time I sprayed it, to see if my initial impression was justified, I thought "this is better than I remembered". A few month later, I sprayed it again, and it finally clicked that this is a beautiful piece of perfumery. The best fragrances have the power to be transporting. To make you feel like you are somewhere you perhaps never been to before, or take you to a place that only lives in your memory. This is one such fragrance. I have never been to Italy l, but I can picture myself on a warm and sunny morning, having a delicious breakfast somewhere in the Italian countryside.
This one opens up with a blast of sweet basil. The sweetness, perhaps comes from the fruit (fig and dragonfruit) which remain veymry much in the background. It's really about that basil in the first stages. As it dries, that sweetness goes away and the grasses and greener aspect take center stage for the duration. This is a green, intensely aromatic fragrance that is entirely unique. Not much out there smells like this.
