Not my usual, but a surprising hit for me
"To My Father" from Vilhelm Parfumerie is a fragrance I blind bought after smelling it in a store and hearing about its impending discontinuation. Released in 2022, it was specifically created for men, offering a captivating woody-spicy scent experience. The longevity of this fragrance is above-average, ensuring it lasts throughout the day.
When I first applied it, the top notes of davana, ambrette seed, and bitter orange greeted me with a refreshing and zesty aroma. As the fragrance developed, I discovered the heart notes of cabreuva, juniper, and whisky, which combined to create a warm and intoxicating blend. The base notes of leather, oak, and white oud provided a rich and resinous foundation, adding depth to the overall composition.
I was pleasantly surprised by the versatility of "To My Father." Although initially considering it as a perfect fall and winter scent, the sweetness of the fragrance made it suitable for summer and spring wear as well. The prominent leather scent, accompanied by a subtle hint of cigar smoke, added a masculine touch that I found particularly appealing.
