Elle Xerjoff 2007

A natural, clean beauty, water and soap: for me the essence.

And Elle is an elegant, discreet fragrance, which is liked because it is naturally pleasant: you cannot perceive the construction, but it is a single symphony of olfactory notes.
A non-trivial floral, accompanied by citrus fruits and woods, which make it not cloying.

I blind bought Elle by accident after mistaking it for Elle Anniversary, which I fell in love with after sampling. The original Elle is actually my favourite of the two.

Elle Anniversary is a clean and uplifting, feminine scent. My sample was a lot more berry forward than my full bottle, which appears to be more apple dominant. Due to this it does give off a bit of shampoo vibes. To be honest this scent has been a bit of a disappointment because of this. It’s still nice and enjoyable, but I’m glad I got a 2nd hand bottle! It’s never worth the full price and won’t be a repurchase.

Elle on the other hand is worth every penny! It’s a very feminine, warm, elegant and comforting scent that I absolutely love! It feels light wearing, but envelopes you in a gorgeous scent bubble that I can smell throughout the day. Very versatile! This could be worn for any event and in any season. It seems each time I smell this, I also get something a little different. I can definitely smell an almost blackcurrant/berry scent in the base. This is just such a beautiful fragrance and it’s so easy to wear.

Elle is definitely one of my favourites and one I will happily repurchase. 10/10!

I hadn't known her for an eternity through confessions or touches, but through all the quiet things in between. Shared mornings, deep conversations at night, the smiles over the same thoughts, the same hobbies.

She knew me, just like one knows a favorite song - not just the melody, but every shaky word behind it. And me? I loved her without ever telling her.

Once I wrote it down - “I love you so much” - on a crumpled piece of paper that lay hidden in my closet for years, invisible because my fear was too loud.

Then came the day she left. New city, new life, a different path. I smiled as she spoke because she is the woman of my dreams. I wished her happiness while my heart quietly shattered.

Years passed. Time rushed by me like a train I never boarded. Then I saw her again. The same beautiful sparkling green eyes with the angelic scent "Elle | XerJoff".

We talked. Laughed. And at some point, very cautiously, I finally said what had been silent for so long: “I have always loved you.”

She was silent for a moment. Then she reached into her bag, pulled out an old, folded piece of paper - my handwriting. “I found it before I left,” she said softly. “I waited, but you never said anything.”

I stared at her - the tears behind my eyelids, the time between us. “I thought I had lost you,” I whispered.

She shook her head. “You never lost me. I was just on my way back to you.”

This time we didn’t kiss in thoughts, not in memories - but for real. Here. Now.

And the piece of paper? It now lies in a picture frame above our shared bed.

Scent impression: The brand Xerjoff and I are currently on a very long journey together. However, the Xerjoff fever has hit me more than ever lately. Now, regarding "Elle | XerJoff," it starts off floral and fruity, with the bergamot and neroli being very noticeable, followed by a very delicate rose and a beautifully crafted iris. In the end, you get a warm touch from the amber and musk. Overall, it is a very fine, powdery, delicate, floral scent. It absolutely thrilled me.

My first impression of the brew beams me straight back to a merry gathering of chatty ex-colleagues and talkative friends at the Christmas party in 2008.
Whether you wanted to or not, the aforementioned fig liqueur based on vodka had to be silly shaken, stirred, and poured. Still better than that tequila sport with salt and lemon.. "Ah yes, how we laughed!"
And what terrible headaches we had the next day from that disgusting, sweet stuff. - Exactly this headache sets in with 'Elle' on the very same day.
The candied fruits, apples and cherries, were glued together with ylang-ylang (I just compared it again with the fabric softener next to me). I can't smell anything else, no further ingredients break through the candy wall. The first Xerjoff that I think is just thrown together.

Comparable drops: Lolita Lempicka - Fleur Défendue, to which I would give the same percentage rating at this point in time.

With Xerjoff and me, it has always been a bit of a rollercoaster. An up and down. I’ve never really hit the mark.. Often I was somewhat enthusiastic, but then quickly fell out of love again because it just wasn’t 100% love. There was always some note that bothered me. Most of the time, the fragrances were somehow “over the top.” Too strange, too overpowering. No scent has really blown me away. That has changed dramatically now. I’ve been testing Elle for several days, and Elle is, for me, the most beautiful scent I have ever smelled. Period.. All my other previous favorites don’t even come close to Elle. Elle was total euphoric love at first sniff. Such an OMG, where have you been my whole life? How could I have overlooked you for so many years? The scent immediately knocked me off my feet and deeply touched me. Recently, I’ve had an incredible number of hits while testing. Good and nice, but somehow also not so nice, financially speaking.

Elle is hard to describe. Elle is elegant, floral, and just a little sweet, but at the same time also powdery, slightly bitter, and very slightly woody. Delicate and hyper-feminine. I smell the notes of iris and birch the most. What a dream combination. In the base, there is a balsamic note that is simply made in heaven, the tonka bean balm. I’ve never smelled it before, but it’s more than paradisiacal. Like a balm that has deeply penetrated my soul. In the last 30 years, I have not smelled a fragrance that is similar. Elle smells incredibly enchanting, inviting, and super expensive from the very beginning, which Elle unfortunately is. Floral/powdery and balsamic with an unbelievably beautiful birch note that gives off a slight delicate bitter aura. Elle is relatively linear, which in this case simply means that the scent smells heavenly from A to Z. What can I say except that I have lost my heart…

Unfortunately, the longevity is not so impressive, and there is actually no sillage at all. A very intimate, close-to-the-skin, but beautiful scent.

So, now I’m in a pickle. I would love to sell several fragrances from my collection immediately to be able to buy this expensive scent without feeling guilty, but I’m currently trying to switch on my brain to avoid an immediate purchase of a €400 fragrance. Hard, very hard..
